Hi everyone,
I have the Samsung Galaxy s Captivate and I want to upgrade it from 2.1 to froyo 2.2. I understand that ATT has not release it. However, I found this thread and froyo is leaked for everyone.
Here is the thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797282
I was wondering if I need to be rooted in order to do this. If so, what is the most easy and most efficient way of doing it? I also want to get rid of all the ATT bloatware, I hear there is a great rom that gets rid of it.
Thanks for listening I can’t wait for your replies.
Michael.
Hello, I'v done something stupid...
I was looking around at all the roms for my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tablet and found one I wanted to use thinking it was a CDMA one... but infact it was a GSM.... After the install nothing was working so I looked into it and found my error... I redid it with a CDMA rom and also a using some recovery files that were listed here and the tablet comes on fine but I have no radio now.
Doing some more looking I see one single person say theres no coming back from that because I installed the wrong modem.bin, is this true?
Currently using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967175 so im stock at the moment.
Iv been searching and searching but i'm not coming up with much... but then again I really dont know what terms to enter... Any help would be great! Thanks!

as long as you can go into "Download mode", you can re-flash the official firmware from here. just have a look which one is suitable for your Tab, and in the bottom of the page, you'll find all documentation you need it and also one very good video tutorial...hope it helps!
I have the same problem but with a VZW galaxy tab. Ive flashed several times and I never seem to get the modem up. The link you posted above doen't seem to have anything for he i800 is there one i can use?
Hi does anyone know where I can find P1000XWJMI_P1000XXJMA_P1000H3GJM5
This is for the samsung galaxy tab from three if someone has it can they upload it please.
thank you spanner3003
Maybe here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889165 The info here for the SGT isnt really straight forward. Just my opinion.
I have just bought a Verizon Galaxy Tab at a resale store, $90 great find, I have rooted and bootstrapped the ClockWork Mod, but I need help in finding custom ROMs. They are out there, but Every post here and elsewhere are full of dead links and 404's on megaupload.
If someone can point me in the right direction, you guys can.
Thanks in advanced,
-Nate
There's a good kang version of cynogenmod 7 over at rootzwiki, or there's a couple cleaned up stock roms for vzw/sprint floating around the dev section. Sadly there aren't many other options.

What about Honeycomb, Like the ROM from spacemoose here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020167
The ROM is lost, but if anyone knows where it can be found.
Thanks,
-Nathan
personally the HC ports never worked well enough for me to leave on my Tab for more than a couple hours of playing around. You might be able to find someone that still has the files, but good luck.

Too bad... could you at least return to the original ROM (assuming you were using original stock ROM)?
If you could give us more details...
shame
i just purchased the t-499 myself and its a shame that such a new/great phone has so little support, ive looked all over google and only gotten mixed answers and dead end threads. icant even figure out if galaxy mini roms are cross compatible to the dart or not. its actually a good phone with a decent screen if u change the lcd_density to 100 the resolution is pretty decent.
if someone can help me a little it would be greatly appreciated, atleast point me in the right direction.
Not sure where else to post this, but can someone tell me if I can use a bootanimation.zip on the Samsung Dart? I've looked at a lot of threads on how to do this, used ROM toolbox to move files around, but haven't had any luck. I'd just like to know for sure so I don't drive myself crazy and waste more time!

On he stock Dart rom, no.
Samsung apparently uses some weird proprietary bootanimation format.
I am running the CM7 port in my sig from the MadTeam Forums and it of course uses bootanimation.zip's and I even have enabled boot sounds on it.
It's a good rom, couple of really minor bugs like button lights don't work and slow to wake on incoming calls, but overall quite stable.
Bummer....I guess I'll have to wait til I can upgrade to a new phone
they have make new rom for dart

How do you change the lcd_density to 100 in the stock ROM?
