I have the rooted version of Remix for PC 3.x, but still can't figure out how to use a web browser (tried Chrome, Dolphin, and Firefox) to browse my local web pages I have in storage. If I enter file:///sdcard/ I can access the Remix partition, but file:///storage/ gives me a page that says Access to the file was denied.
Can anyone help?

I could not find any information about this in the forums anywhere.
I apologize if it has already been discussed.
My favorite feature in Hero is the browser's ability to prevent websites from showing the mobile view.
I know many sites have a choice for this, but some of them don't.
Has anyone come up with a way to get the stock cupcake browser to fool websites into thinking it is not a mobile browser? Is it even possible?
get loccys browser, it allows you to do this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551119&highlight=loccy and much more!
if you cant use adb then just use a file browser such as oi file manager to install, works great!
Thank you for the help.
I have been looking for this forever.
Time to reflash.

It's way easier to install using a file manager than ADB.
Although u can use a fike manager to install apks u cant install system apps like the browser with them. Get SUFBS from the market or get the adb file manager for ur pc. I use the adb manager no need for commands just a few clicks and i can remove and push things at will!
Thanks everyone.
I've already flashed CM 4.0.4 and installed the browser using ADB.
Browser is awesome.
I had this problem to when using cupcake. If you don't have root or want to dal with flashing you can always use a proxy servr also. I used to use youhide.com cuz everytim I went to the ufc website I got the lame mobile site
All I did to install it was download it through my phone browser. Then tap the file in the download manager and installed in seconds.

Again... YES you can. However, it seems only Linda File Manager has the functionality...other file manager's don't. I fooled around with it again today...this time totally removing all browser related files from /system/app, /system/sd/app, and /data/data. I then rebooted and reinstalled Loccy's browser using Linda FM.

I haven't tried downloading it with browser... didn't even think to try it that way. So there are now two ways of doing it on the phone without using terminal or ADB.
I used OI file browser, it worked fine installing the browser!
A lot of system apks can be installed right through linda with no need to push through adb
I always find it easier to use the terminal:
cp /sdcard/blahblah.xxx /system/blah/blah
This morning, I can't get into Android market and when I open Web explorer app, I've got some sort of error message regarding "certificate". Does any get this too?
If you can't get into Android Market, simply do a system restore. Also, certificates have nothing do with the Droid, it has to do with the certificate of the webpage not being updated and current. Ignore that if you're accessing reliable websites, it will eventually be updated.
System retore? Reinstall hc? The website that i was trying to access is android market via the web since i couldnt get into it via app. Thanks
How to access Restore

System restore is an option available on your device. Simply shut it down then while press the "+" on the volume and the power button, you should get a boot menu. One of them is the Restore option, use the "+" or "-" to move the cursor and once you're highlighting the option to restore, press the power button. It will re-install HC and reboot. Your Android Market should work after that and your browser should correct itself. Either way whether on a computer or an android device, if a website doesn't update its certificates, you will get that message.
Go to settings, applications, manage apps, click on market and clear data
Thank you all. I reset/shutdown by pressing the pin hole next to sd card. It worked again.
Hello,
I am running cm12.1 on my Tate device and Google play store won't sign in. I tried reflashing gapps and it does the same thing. Can anyone help?
Every once in a while this happens, however if you retry or goto someother window and come back it works. Also you can goto APKMIRROR and download/install the latest version of the playstore.
Use ES file explorer, go to root explorer on menu screen, grant root access, tap on root explorer,go to mount system, change all the options to read write(RW),then go to system folder, tap on etc,go to hosts file and change the line 127.0.0.1 localhost to #127.0.0.1 localhost, press the home button on your device to return to your device then try to sign in to google play store,I found this solution shown on youtube by several different channels
Got an unrooted stock N910T3 with 5.1.1 installed. Noticed that the mail client would not to open/preview attachments. When I select the download option I was not able to view them either. Each time I tried to preview a .xlsx or .docx file the Hancom office app would show the error "File read error. File type is unsupported or the file is corrupted.". Thought initially that it might be the Hancom office app, but when I looked at the download folder each of the files that were downloaded were 0kB.
Any idea how to fix? Symptoms are like a permissions issue, but the phone is unrooted and has Knox=0 still. I've tried factory resetting the phone and still no luck.
Any ideas?

Every time I try to open a Microsoft office document on my pixel 5 I get prompted to authorize use "zip extractor" and get redirected to a website in order to do so (even though I app libre office installed on my phone and that app is able to read and edit office files) , is this an official google/google drive app? If so then why doesn't it just work and I get redirected to a site that doesn't look very google like?
And you don't have zip extractor app installed on your phone? I'd go to any of the apps involved and under the app's advanced settings and clear "open by default"

No, I don't any zip apps installed on my phone, I did some more digging and apparently zip extractor looks kind of official?
"ZIP Extractor
ZIP Extractor is a JavaScript implementation of a utility for opening and extracting ZIP files into Google Drive. The example contains working code showing:
Authorizing an application and authenticating user requests using the drive.file scope sharing widgets.
Opening files with the Drive interface
Uploading and downloading files using CORS
Creating a Chrome Web Store listing and associating an application with a MIME type
To get started, try the app or install it in Drive. To view or download the source, visit the ZIP Extractor on the GitHub repo."
