Oneplus 3T not turning on and not connecting to PC. - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Dear XDA Members,
My oneplus 3T turned off automatically after the phone became unresponsive for a minute. The battery was about 20-25%.
I connected the charger as i thought battery might have drained. The charger's temperature was rising and so was my handsets. But I am unable to turn it on. It wont even connect to PC
I have tried power button long press.
Power Button + volume down.
Volume up. Every combo that has been mentioned over the internet but I am still unable to turn it on.
Kindly help and recommend some steps or remedies in detail to solve my problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hi. Try to follow the unbrick tutorial in https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/unbrick-unbrick-tutorial-oneplus-3t-t3515306
Hopefully you'll be able to get it detected by a pc and get it revived.
Best of luck.

FYI, the phone has to be powered on (at least to bootloader-fastboot mode) in order to connect in any way. So of course, it will never connect if the phone can't power on.

Xperia Z Dead??

Hi.
So I deleted gmail apk and put inverted gmail apk in system apps. Powered off the phone. Tried to power it back on, nothing happens.
Battery was almost full, about 95%. If I hold power button (tried for like 30secs) nothing happens. No LED, no vibrate, screen is black non-stop.
I also tried power& VOL-, power& VOL+, power & both volume... Nothing.
If I plug it into USB cable from PC, nothing. If I plug in the mains charger, nothing.
Tried holding VOL- (and later VOL+) and plug in USB cable from PC to get into download mode, nothing. Flashtool doesn't see the device.
What the HELL just happened? And what can I do?

JUST DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE SERVICE FROM SONY , CHOOSE YOUR DEVICE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION AND MAYBE IT WILL GET YOUR PHONE WORK .
UPDATE SERVICE LINK
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
Tried Sony Update Service, also PC Companion and flashtool.. The phone appears to be completely dead, like the battery is empty or not even connected. I don't think it's possible that the battery is empty since it had 95% of power when I switched the phone off..
Now that I think about it, it might be possible, that I turned the phone off, didn't wait for it to vibrate and immediately tried to turn it back on.. Does this somehow put the phone in "hard off mode" or something? I mean I'm just guessing here, because I really have no idea what to do :crying:
Hold power button plus volume until u feel 3 vibrates either the phone will come back on or at least u should be able to connect it to the pc opinion.

if your computer does not recognize your phone or vice versa your phone is hard brick (reinstall sony driver just to be sure), no other way to revive it unless you can get into recovery.
I had the same problem this morning. Itwas on charge overnight from the GPO and this morning, Nothing.
I tried two things. One was the update as suggested here (which is happening as I speak) and the other was to hold the button and the lower volume switch. I was doing these concurrently, with it plugged into my laptop and something worked. THANKFULLY.
I only got the phone about three weeks ago and this is the second time something like this has happened. First time it was totally dead and I had it swapped one for one. Worst part was I had spent some time updating my phone list etc which was subsequently lost (making me think I was working on my phone memory not the sim....)
I've just updated my NFC firmware, whatever that is, and it has gone into sleep mode. But at least it's working.
My longwinded explanation preceeds a short question.
Is this a common occurence with the Xperia Z?
My wife has exactly the same model only exception being hers is white, mine black. She has had no probs. Knew I shoulda gone the white one.

you have to wait at least 30 sec until you switch it on .leave the phone on the charger atleast for 3 hours try to uninstall and reinstall sony drivers . and then try to flash a stock rom using a flash tool
OK, the phone has been charging overnight (no led indication, charger was cold, so was the phone, so I doubt it's even been charging) about 10 hours. Reinstalled drivers, PC Companion, Update service and flashtool.
I tried these 4 options with 3 different variables (for 12 total combinations) 30 seconds each.
1) No cables connected
2) Mains charger connected
3) USB cable from PC connected:
hold [PWR] 30 secs
hold [PWR] + [VOL-] 30 secs
hold [PWR] + [VOL+] 30 secs
hold [PWR] + [VOL-] + [VOL+] 30 secs
After that, I also tried connecting the phone to USB cable to PC, each time with only 1 open program. First with flastool, then PC Companion, then Update Service with 3 different variables (for a total of 9 combinations). 30 seconds each:
without pressing/holding any buttons
hold [VOL+] while connecting
hold [VOL-] while connecting
Also tried a different USB port and cable, but it's 100% not the PC/drivers/USB cable.
No matter what I tried, nothing happened. Screen on the phone is dead all the time, LED light is dead, no vibrations, no sounds, nothing. Also when trying the PC connected options, no sounds, indications of drivers installing/failing, no activity in my computer, NOTHING on PC.
Are there any more options to try? Or must I send the phone in for repair?
And once again, does anyone know if turning off the phone and NOT waiting for it to vibrate and immediatelly trying to turn it back ON, somehow causes this "dead phone"?
No more ideas? Am I the first one to have this issue?

Seems like you have tried every known possible way to revive it, I think its time you sent it to Sony to have it fixed... I doubt anyone else can help you from here... Good luck.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I'm afraid to send it because I rooted the phone and my country service centres are known to deny warranty repairs for pretty much any reason they can find.. Sometimes they even make up something.. That's why I was hoping I could somehow fix it.. But yeah, seems there is no way I can do it, so I will have to send it in. Will report what happened.
To be fair, if it wont show on computer or boot up, short of them fixing it then checking, there is no way for them to see it has been rooted?
Xperia Z
That should be correct, but thats exactly what im afraid of. Lets say the battery died for instance. They replace it boot up the phone see its rooted and send me a bill. I hope this wont happen, we shall see..

Pff, you think technicians are gonna bother opening superuser app to check for root?
I sure hope they wont. Phone has been picked up by delivery service today, that means it will arrive in repair centre by friday, and that means they will start looking at it next week maybe wednesday. Then before they figure out whats wrong, order parts and all, about 2-3 weeks and I can report what was wrong.
Got the phone back today. No idea what they did, no detailed description only "reset of program module SL4". Anyways, phone is working, I didn't have to pay anything, so all is good!

[Q] Phone wont turn on after hanging while watching a video

Hi there. I really hope someone can shed some light into this big problem I'm having.
I'm running CM11 with TWRP as my custom recovery.
Earlier today, I was streaming a video with flash. Then the video hanged but the kept playing. Nothing happened when I pressed the back button, menu or power. So I pressed and held the power button until the phone turned off. Then it wouldn't turn on again. I thought that the phone just locked and got stuck so I removed the battery. But it still wouldn't turn on. I can't even go to recovery or download mode. I tried plugging it in to a charger just to see if by some miraculous reason the battery completely drained, but still nothing. So that's what happened. It was working perfectly fine until it hanged.
I hope someone can tell me what happened to my phone...
Thanks,
Harold
update: I tried plugging my phone into a my laptop and I keep hearing the usb connect/eject sound. It seems like the phone is trying to turn on but can't. I removed it, removed/reconnected the battery, tried to go to download mode, but nothing happened, then I connected it again to my laptop but I can't hear the usb sounds anymore. So I removed/reconnected the battery again then plugged it in my laptop, and the sounds are there again.
I don't know what this means. I really hope someone can help me...
My tip would be to remove the battery for 15 minutes, then try to put it back and turn on.

Already tried it.
I don't think it's the battery, it would at least turn the screen on for a while.
Try to put the battery in, and connect to charger (don't turn on).
I guess there is nothing else to do here, send it to RMA. :crying:

I can't get into any mode. And as I've mentioned above, when I plug it in my computer, it makes the usb sound, like I'm continuously plugging and unplugging it.
Odin is not recognizing it, even Kies.

My Nexus 6 won't turn on anymore, help please!

Hi guys,
Here's my (huge problem): my Nexus 6 won't turn on anymore. I was at a friend's last night, it was on and functional. Then I pick it up and it's off. Odd I think, I try to turn it on, nothing. I try to turn it on while holding the power button for a while, still nothing. I try powering it on to access the bootloader (power + vol down), still nothing. All I could see was a faint red light right next to the top speaker (on the left, weird but it seems to be the proximity sensor) that turns on for like a second when I hold the power button for a while.
If I connect it to my PC, I get a Windows notification saying the driver for this device cannot be installed (so it's detecting it somehow). I let it charge overnight but I don't know if it did (although I waited for a bit and it did get warm while connected to the Moto turbo charger). The Nexus toolkit doesn't see it if I try an "adb devices" command.
I've tried all the steps on Google's help page and also from this thread but it still won't power on. I don't know what to do anymore at this point. It was fully functional, no hard/soft brick of any kind.
Fyi, it is rooted, the bootloader is unlocked and I was running Chroma with ElementalX kernel. Please helps guys! :crying::crying:
Have you tried plugging it in to your computer and looking in devices? tried another charger?
@XDAcube, yes I did: I tried my friend's charger last night and my PC as well. Like I said, when I connect it to my PC, I get a Windows notification saying the driver for this device cannot be installed and that's it.

Usually the red LED means your battery is dead. Charge it for an hour or two then try again.
@Face_Plant, I charged it overnight. It seemed to have worked because it was getting warm on the back (as usual) but I can't tell for sure since it doesn't turn on at all.

Well, I ended up sending it back for repair (it's still under warranty). They replaced the motherboard, battery and back cover, for free of course!
I did lose all my recent data but it couldn't be helped in that case. You might need to RMA yours as well...
when i first received my Nexus6 out of box, it was dead didnt turn on etc. i was freakin out that it might be a total defect device.
but it came with 0% charged i guess? and only after pluggin it into the chargin cable i managed to power it on,
did everyone else's nexus 6 came with 0% charged? or was it only me

it was basically dead out of box, unopened box eveyrhitng in place and sealed and the phone itself had the pre intsalled screen film on, i had to plug it to the wall until after 2minutes then i could turn the thing on :/
I would try to charge the phone using the wireless charger to see what will happen.

My oneplus 3T does not boot

Hello,
I was transfering some files from my OP3T to my laptop with usb cable, and the screen went freeze-blur and then shut down.
Now it does not turn on, does not vibrate or charging, no led turning on and the pc does not find it anymore. It is dead =/
Do you know why this happened and how to turn it back on?
Thank you in advance
Hi buddy,
This is really strange that your phone is hard bricked after some data transfer.
The only advice I can give is try to search for: "hard bricked oneplus 3(t)" and follow the instruction.
If your phone is not seen as a qualcomm device when you follow the instruction than it could be that you phone is 'dead' by damage from the cable! It's just a guess from my side.
Mnarijnm
Edit: did you tried power + volume up/down?
A battery failure can do that. I would leave it for a few hours and the see if it turns on. If not, try charging it for a few minutes and then try turning it in with the power cable still connected.
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs
Try leaving it plugged in for a couple hours, and then holding Power and Home. Weird, but worked for my. Hold it for like 20 seconds or so.
Hello,
thanks for your answers and effort to help me with my bricked phone.
I have managed to find my OP3T on pc under Devices ->ports -> Qualcomm HS USB QDLoader 9008 com3.
Now I am trying to unbrick it with OP3T Unbrick Tool but when I Run MsmDownloadToolV3.0 and press Start , I get a mesaage on 'Communication Status' that say ""Firehose Communication handshake Failed"' and stops, also this message "Sahara communication failed£¬please try again after power off the phone,".
Do you know how to resolve this issue?
Thank you again.

Try press and hold the power key for like 20 seconds after it vibrates release the power key and press it again when the soft keys light shows up... Hope it'll help.
Make sure your device is properly turned off first of all. You can do that by turning off the device via fastboot menu.
After that, when you are sure device is turned off... make sure to hold 30 seconds... do a little longer even, and plug it in to the USB that is connected to the PC.
I personally did that and it worked well. I also just rebooted my PC and it literally had been on for a couple of seconds, maybe 30 seconds. Started MSM in administrative mode and pressed start. Connected and installation went through.
Had same issues like you before that.

Question Redmi Note 11 4G (Global) won't charge and turn on after a update try

Hello,
My costumer tried to update his Redmi Note 11 from 13.0.9 to 13.0.12 rom via Update App, I don't know if he made something wrong, but now the phone won't charge and not turning on.
When I put the charging cable, the battery symbol blink some times but nothing happens. I'm sending a video that shows it.
I can't get into fastboot mode and when I plug it on PC nothing happens, only the battery symbol blinks and Windows not recognize the phone
Can this phone be saved?
Thank for all help in advance.

My guess is that they tried to update when the battery was so discharged, then the update didn't finish correctly, still seems no battery.
When you charge the battery again, try to enter to recovery mode and do a factory reset, try to boot.
To enter to fastboot mode you can, either press volume down + PWR button, or pressing volume down and at same time, connect to your PC, but not much you can do through it, if the bootloader is locked, and plus, the user didn´t start the process to unlock it.

Well, you don't need to charge for 24 hours, it seems to me that something in the hardware is damaged or was disconnected, like the charging flex connector, it could be an internal error, you should check it with the help of a technician, the symbol shows no charge at all. After you solve it, at hardware level, then you should try some tips at software level.

Hello brother. Im facing the same exact issue. did you fix the phone. Any way to fix it?
Today my phone has fully discharged and I have the exact same issue.
Impossible to boot and I cannot charge it, as it results as the blinking of the battery icon...
On my side, if I plug the USB-C, it does not even says it charges / but it vibrates each ~5sec with the same (empty) battery icon...

hi..i have already posted this on a thread in the morning. i have same exact issue.
I dropped the email to xiaomi and they after lot of back and forth emails, and trying everything out, they asked me to visit a service center. apparently after doing some research the only way to fix it is by opening the phone and disconnecting the battery and connecting it again.
My phone was less than a month old and ordered from amazon. they are going to accept the return request luckily.
I know guys, no one likes to disassemble a device or take it to a repair service center, but the issue is clearly related to a hardware fault, i.e. battery, charge flex connector or whatever they are called.

I had the same issue, wouldn't boot or display anything, so I took the phone (spesn) to a service center.
The technician told me all he did to repair the phone was a software upgrade... No problems since then, it probably can be done at home somehow...

It seems a hardware issue, but...
Some bad flashing cycle can cause the display not "turning on" at all, but really, it's just not showing a thing, to cover and check this possibility, you should flash a different firmware, just check out, the state your device gets connected, and try flashing a firmware.
For everyone who has this problem, remember that with locked bootloader it is impossible to flash the official rom by miflash.
The only alternative you have at the moment is to try to start the phone in EDL mode and that means opening the phone and seeing how to do the test point.
IF the pc recognizes it, they are in luck and it can be recovered, but due to xiaomi policies, only some people have accounts authorized to flash by EDL and charge for the service, many do it remotely and are found on telegram.
All the lot of issues, users are reporting on this device, they are realizing that Xiaomi is forcing them all to unlock the bootloader.
Unlocking the bootloader may be the fastest and cheapest way to escape from an eventual disastrous scenario.
I have the same issue with my Redmi Note 11, I successfully update it, I have 3 other chargers and cables I try all possible methods to eliminate possibilities even check type-c port but phone not charging after mini 13.0.12 update. How we gonna have fix this or is the are a plan from xiaomi to have solution?
