This looks like a very good price. US one day shipping from Amazon Prime. I ordered it and an external mic for ~$8 just in case. Hoping it's good. What do you guys think about it?
Well I pulled the trigger and purchased. I did not get the external mic. Had to hack up my dash trim and some of the actual dash. This is a 2004 Ford Focus. The iso harness connected with no modification as I previously had a Blaupunkt radio. I am having audio popping on my end when placing a bluetooth call. Music sounds great on bluetooth and is very loud and sounds full range. Hoping for some help with bluetooth call audio issue.
I saw you got it rooted successfully. Anymore updates? Did you get your calls to work any better?
pics? review?

Xposed works. Youtube background play and ad block work. Calls still not sounding good. The seller had me reflash ROM. Still not sounding good. Seller suggested I try external mic. It should be arriving today.

Good: Very fast, great sound, good wifi reception, good bluetooth reception, radio reception acceptable, volume nob works great.
Bad: Tight fit(had to cut dash and trim), bluetooth calls issue, google maps crash sometimes, google app crash sometimes, google voice search can't dial contacts, no option to voice dial contacts, second incoming call no notification or option to switch calls, some electical sound leakage in speakers when touching the screen(not bad I just noticed with my ear near speaker).
Overall: pretty good for the price.
that interface looks good
Its an MTCD. They're largely all the same, with variations in number of USB, SDCARD, amp chip, tuner module. The unit most fully kitted out is the GS MTCD board.
Notice HCT in the android version - they produce the PX5 SOM with the resellers specifying software options (launcher etc.)
Having owned a JY and compared it to a GS board I have - obtained as a spare part for hardware hacking - the GS is the one to go for.

Did the external mic help? I saw that amazon froze this volsmart product too which is making me uneasy since I am in the process of installing mine.

The mic did not help. Volsmart says they have sent me a new bluetooth module. I am still waiting for it. The old module will need to be de-soldered for removal. I am OK with this as I know electronics. They are not responding to support requests because of China blocking VPN access. If I don't get the new module before end of 30 days I will get refund.
When using Google Maps does the audio kind of stutter and cut in and out on yours? Mine does this but only in Google maps. Google now Assistant sounds fine

sorry for this post, but this is the worst sp that i had till now, and i had a few already...
battery life is horrible, not even a day of normal using, if i have few more calls, emails and some browsing...
the keyboard is not ok for me, i had a vpa compact II which had a great keyboard, which gave realy good and fast response, and why are the soft keys on the qwerty keyboard under the screen more on the left side and right if i see a menu button on the screen i want to push right under it, and not to look first wheres the button exactly
if im listening to music with any application through the earphones, it makes-that the sound is at once also playing through the phone speaker, and i have to restart
not any one usable navigation software works under it ive tested: igo, tomtom, route 66...route66 is meda for devices without touchscreen and igo doesnt worked, which is normall, but tomtom works on some other devices, with fakecursor, but not here
cell phone switcher also didnt worked
it has only 64mb ram, its enough if i listen to mp3 and scroll a little bit faster through the start menu applications, and i have a lag
if someone could help with some of this stuff, i would be really lucky.
thx
i agree it is anoying that the landscape buttons are not under the text but i love the keyboard for how small it is. my battery life is amazing. I am going on two days of email/phone/text and it still has 20% left from its charge right out of the box. I havent even opened the charger yet. and no, i turned off the feature to charge when connected to pc so it doesnt use a cycle. it is faster then my tytn ii but the screen sucks in comparison. i just needed a smaller powerhouse and this is it and works for me
as for the navigation from what I read it lacks an internal antenna and will not pick up satellites anyway. again, my tytn II has gps and works great with tomtom but I also have a tomtom in my car so i never used the cell phone gps.

why should i? i want to use s730 as a navigation like other people are doing it with their smartphone, cause on their sp it is working fine...and i dont want an another device...
Battery Life: I use this all day for email communication, browsing, and phone without a problem (i'm 100% in the field for work). Note that I'm in the US, so I'm not using the 3G.
Keyboard: Keyboard is fine and is taking quite a bit of abuse from me (see above). Although, I agree that if they made a keyboard that tapped into my brain and guessed what keys I was going to hit next, wirelessly, it would be much better. I hear Motorola is working on that.
Music: I'm guessing you're using an ExtUSB adapter, or the included headphones, and you're stating that, while you're listening to music, after the connection is lost and regained with the ExtUSB headphones, you can't get the music to only come out of the headphones. It will come out of the speaker and the headphones only, until you soft reset. I had a problem that the ExtUSB plug on the included headphones wasn't hitting the piece of metal on square side of the ExtUSB port unless i pushed it in hard. After I pushed it in all the way, the metal made contact and I no longer had the "problem." The issue you're stating probably can be fixed with a call the HTC; if it, in fact, is truly an issue. Although, it makes no sense to me that this isn't simply a usage problem.
GPS Navigation: I have no problem running TomTom, or Google Maps. I tried using Route66, but it was too horrible (I couldn't look up addresses). There's always CoPilot Live 7, which looks much better than TomTom.
TomTom: TomTom is not compatible with Windows Mobile Standard/Smartphone. Therefore you can't expect it to work, ever. If it does (read last point), it's a gift. Try mapping FakeCursor with the built-in remapping feature of Windows Mobile.
Cell Phone Switcher: This not working is not the phone, the programmer just needs to update where the program gets the cell tower data from. It most likely just changed location.
RAM: I have no problem with RAM at all. I manage my tasks well, as should any user of a mobile device.
Overall, I'm dissatisfied with your arguments and the severity of your title "nothing works on this sp" is unwarranted. The only point you bring up that is actually bad, is the battery life; but, then again, that's the way it is; you know... batteries and stuff. It's very handy that HTC phones have the ability to charge via USB.
does anyone recommend a nice mobile usb charger?

no you are not right, the headphones are correctly plugged in, there is something wrong, i dont know if i have a broken model or what, but if i make a call with headphones plugged inanad the music is playin, then after the call the music is also playin through the phone speaker.
i dont know which version of tomtom do you have. but also route 66 and ive tried:v7.0.3040.0 and 7.0.2992, on some other smartphones is the version: TomTom 6.02 working, it could also on this one. the fake cursor isnt a problem, i mapped it successfully but it just cannot simulate a click in tomtom.
so ram is ok? try to play music through coreplayer and take a photo after the phone was a few days on.
i agree with you about the title, ive changed it.

Headphone: I misunderstood your issue. You've attempted to reseat the headphones? If so, I'd call HTC and let them know. Issue yes... easily solvable from a software perspective... I'd assume so. Can anyone else replicate the problem? I'll try later.
Tomtom: So FakeCursor starts, you get the crosshairs... but when you hit the center directional button... it doesn't tap? You have to keep in mind that you can only "tap" in pocket pc apps, not in smartphone apps. I don't have this problem.
RAM: I don't use CorePlayer. However, I keep my tasks in check. I also soft reset daily. I never have a problem.

I couldn't agree with you more. I could have written the above except my s730 has no gps which I don`t have any use for on a phone anyway. Ram is fine, battery is awesome for it's size and pleasently surprising. Keyboard is fine. I love the small pocketable size of this device. I'm very satisfied with it. If screen were a tad bigger it would be perfect, but then maybe not quite so pocketable...lol.....forgot to mention the RF is outstanding also.
I don't understand how you can buy a smartphone then complain that a Pocket PC application like TT6 won't work properly.
I've transferred TT5.2 from an older phone to my S730 and it works great. Probably because it's designed to?

i knooooooooow, but some users with smartphones are runing it, and its working fine!
im sorry, that i even created a post.
holy god.
Hey guys, i`ve been browsing the site for a while and thought it about time to make an original contribution. I was looking for a blue tooth headset and my searches here lead me to the MW600. quite a few people were asking about it so i thought it a good opportunity to give my review now that i have one!
from the start then, i bought this as i have a very nice pair of headphones i wanted to use with the phone, but could not be doing with cords. most bluetooth headsets have their own headphones which i get along with even less. this seemed a perfect solution to both problems.
the box it comes in is flimsy at best, indeed the plastic tab to hang the box on is completely lose, useless for hanging up in a shop.
out the box, its a lot smaller than i imagined but a bit thicker too. it comes with a charger that handily also fits the HD2 which is an added bonus and un expected!
when i paired up to the phone i was very surprised to find that the unit displayed the song info correctly. i honestly did not expect this to work outside of a sony erricson phone but it works! the next track and previous track buttons work as well, as does the play and stop buttons.
the hands free works fine as well with the person who called me not knowing i was on a hands free.
the volume control is awful, they decided to use a slider that half the time does not register me raising the volume and when it does its impossible to get the right volume setup, its either too high or too low and the slider is too imprecise to get the setting i want!
I cannot comment on the enclosed head phones as i never used them!
When i play some music through the device ( and that is of course what its for) the results are slightly dispaointing. the sound is okay, but that is about as best as i can describe it. maybe its because i am spoilt by the good quality output from the 3.5mm jack on the phone, maybe i am just used to having some EQ on (which the unit does not provide for and the phone says it cannot apply `audio booser` without somer thing being plugged in the 3.5mm jack) but the bass is there (thanks on no small part to the ehadphones rather than the unit) but the mid seems `transparent` with no real hit and the highs are annoyingly 'sparkly'. This os of course my opinion, and others may find the output perfectly fine and for comparison i also do not like the output of ipods as i find their mid lacking as well so if your happy with i pod output you maybe happy with this units output,
I have never needed to re charge the unit yet after 3 days of having it and listing to it in the morning for 2 hours and on the way home for an hour so the battery seems quite good.
I love the unit but the quality of the output means i will only really use it when i have to, prefering to use the audio jack output, i am however going to look into how the unit works as i suspect the phone is sending SBD encode audio and not the native mp3. if i can ge tthe unit to decode MP3 and the phone to send mp3 then i think we have a winner!
For reference i used CD originals encoded to lame 3.98 -V1.
just ordered mine. thanks for the review. i will also post up my opinion of the headset when it arrives. if it is as good as the include wired version, that will be good enough for me.
Hey thanks for the review as I'm getting one but you didn't speak about the radio does it work? anything else? cheers mate
Thanks for your review.
But could you edit it so that it's not so hard to read?
Spaces between a few sentences would suffice.
Thanks for the review, install WOW SRS and it should improve the sound quality via bluetooth but it will kill audio booster when plugged with the 3.5mm jack and always use WOW SRS.
Vrery nice, all working apart from Cyberon voice dialer, you can initiate Cyberon voice application by clicking the phone button on headset but can't pass voice to the phone as it doesn't recognize voice. It looks like the problem relates to cyberon not mw600.

The Miri V10 ROM is on the HTCpedia forums (I think it is V11 now, not tried it)
Just got mine, tried it and I have to say:
THE MUSIC QUALITY IS CRAP!!!!!
headphones arrived today. WOW. excellent audio and far better than oem headphones. have yet to play with it on radio etc, but so far very impressive.
I have a problem
After the end of any audio file
Lose "stereo audio" connection
and have to push the play button to reconnect "stereo audio"
and also
After the end of calls
Lose "Hands Free" connection
and have to push the Talk button to reconnect "Hands Free"
but if i received a call
"Hands Free" reconnect automatically
But there is a delay for two seconds
I do not know this is normal?
Like power autosaving!!!
this is definately not normal. mine works flawlessly. no need to reconnect ever. i would suggest checking your bluetooth settings and pairing settings again to make sure everything is correct.
I am using smartWatchM with Sony Ericsson MBW-150
I think there is a conflict between the Watch and mw600 connection
The problem is from latest windows build (23569) & (21903 )
When i go back to an old build like (23519)
There is no conflict between the Watch and mw600 connection
Waiting for a solution to this problem or update for Windows without problems
Delays
Does anyone else experience a 3-5 sec delay when the HD2 jumps 1 song/chapter forward?
My combination gives a this delay, which is especially annoying when listening to audiobooks!
I miss a few seconds of every new chapter, need to manually jump 1 chapter forward and the back again.
Does not appear when manually going forward/reverse only when HD2 is in control.
I picked up a Lumia 930 over the weekend and so far I'm loving device, except for 1 small issue. I'm not getting any voice guidance at all in Here Drive. I get the speeding warning tone just fine, but no voice guidance at all from either the device or over my car's BT connection.
Everything else comes over the BT connection fine... Cortana's voice, music, phone calls... Just no voice guidance...
Anyone come across that at all?

Did you actually downloaded any voice guidance in settings, as by default it's set to "none" , though on first start the program asks to download voice an maps, maybe you omitted this step ?
Yes, as I just said above you. Of course I downloaded the voice, both UK English voices, in fact. I'm not a dummy.
I can get voice guidance from other apps, just not Here Drive, which is annoying.
There's also another issue, which is WP's fault and bloody annoying. No control over the individual BT profiles, so I can't shut off the regular BT Audio profile (I don't want voice guidance or music to cut off my car stereo, just phone calls). It's the one big thing about WP that annoys the hell out of me.

Yes, makes no difference. There's no voice guidance. It's not a corrupt voice causing the issue, it's something else.

Correct. With or without bluetooth, there's NO voice guidance whatsoever from Here Drive.

If i recall corectly ( as at the moment i can't test) there is a Driving Mode in the phone's settings, and you need to turn it ON .
Also you may want to take a look HERE for some more useful information on Here navigation features.

Ah HA!! Thank you for that link! Looks like it identifies the issue. I'd only tested it on my drive to/from work, and apparently, it doesn't use voice guidance for My Commute routes. I shall test that out next time I'm in the car.
It would have been nice if there was somewhere on the bleedin' phone that -told- you that, though!
Oh well, at least that's answered... Now, if anyone can tell me how I can control the BT profiles, I'll be completely happy!

Nope, there's no capability to disable specific profiles for specific devices. Android's been able to do this for years, but not WP, it seems.

Indeed...for now it's impossible to set different profiles for different devices, maybe in a future update, as of lately Microsoft has been pushing updates at a really fast pace.
I would like some recommendations for a double din head unit. I wanted to have nav, rear view cam support, aux and 4G/WiFi.
I was going to make my own system with a raspberry pi, but after pricing stuff out I'm gonna be looking at a similar price of $200+. So I would rather just buy an android head unit since that's the OS I want to use anyway and it's still not that smooth on a rasperry pi. Although Google is going to offically suport it soon.
Thanks

Check on Crutchfield.com. I've only seen one unit that runs wifi(its alot more the $200), and havent seen one that runs cell band
Check out 'Joying'. You will have it in a few days.
If they have a package for your car then she is plug&play. Many of the units are the same but come with different stuff so the price changes. Some have volume knobs - do get that.
Joying... (can't post links so you have to type in)

I personally got this setup for my Nissan Frontier truck...
and i now have the 5.1 update hardware to update from kitkat. You might want to ask for the 5.1 models.
Yeah after I have been looking around the joying is probably what I'm gonna go with.

The unit I got was the 'JY-NQ128'.
If you search for it on the joying site you will see it is set up for Nissan cars/trucks meaning they include plug and play cables for that vehicle so it's working in minutes.
That part number also comes with backup camera, gps stuff, etc. It has a volume knob on the top. Some other packages will have the same unit at a different price but come with say an OBD2 dongle and a volume button in the middle or no buttons or no navigation. Some have a DVD player.
A note about navigation... You have to ask for it. They will then send you a link for the 'IGO' software and maps. You install it on the blank SD card they include. IGO is kinda a standard I think but you can also use Google maps, Here, Waze, whatever you like. In settings you just set the nav button to whatever.
You can buy cables, backup camera, etc from their site if they don't have a package for your car.
I have bad ears so can't be trusted on its ability to play music but seems to work fine. I bought it mostly for its backup camera, navigation and of course the powerful Android system. My calendar is on there, email, etc.
Nice unit 1024x600 screen too.

Not sure. I've not researched Android Auto but I suspect it is totally limited (AA).
My unit is full blown Android. You have to be careful here. For example streaming a movie while driving is possible. It is initially shut off in settings but you can turn it on.
The unit is like a Nexus phone. No limitations.

I think the biggest thing im looking for is a nice driving friendly UI, with good navigation. Android auto ticks all my requirements.
How about “Pumpkin”?

Hi
This is getting a little silly now.
On what will be my 3rd P20 Pro and actually considering asking o2 to cancel the contract.
Basically if I connect to anything, whether is bluetooth headphones or the car stereo (nissan) it plays fine for 5 mins or so and then just stops, even going so far as to shut off either the podcast app (podcast addict) or the default Hauwei Music app.
Tried factory resets and everything.
Any ideas/help please?
Don't have these issues have a Nissan but stream via Deezer works great .. also use Bose headphones for the journey to work again with Deezer and no issues ...

3 phone replacements for a software issue?
If I was O2 I would cancel your contract and blacklist you from repeat custom.
Mine plays one song, then mutes itself. Also if you get an email or WhatsApp message, it also mutes. Mildly annoying.

Well your not are you? You would have valid point if I wasn't paying my bills, but sadly like many other keyboard warriors you know zilch.
A network will NEVER block someone from taking out additional lines, **** I was with Voda and had multiple handsets on my account for family.
So next time before you pop your head above the parapet, don't.
Some of my issues got resolved by unpairing and pairing again Bluetooth after every firmware update. Then again I started have issues when the other side of the caller would say my voices was breaking. This issue got solved no installing Greenify and killing most of the background apps.

I don't think you got my point so I'll try to make it clearer.
You are a douche for having 2 phones replaced when there was no manufacturing defect.
Had the same issue with Player Pro cutting out on the Bluetooth car connection. fixed it by changing an over zealous power setting:
Settings > Battery > App Launch - Find the apps you need to connect to bluetooth and set them to manual and run in the background - That fixed:
-Car bluetooth (Player Pro, Google Maps navigation)
-Garmin Watch
-Banks contactless payment app
And a few other apps that I wasn't getting notifications from.
With Honda hands free system p20pro works bad, connection through hft system in my car gives corrupted voice . On galaxy s6 edge it is ok.
Garmin BT issues - resolved

First of all, OP never said why they'd had to have the phone replaced previously, so you don't know that it was for this same issue.
Secondly, please don't be that guy. XDA is a friendly place, and you're not displaying a friendly attitude. Chill out, please

Thanks for the tip. I'm still finding my way around Huawei's implementation of Android. It's nice, but I prefer AOSP. This sorted my problem anyway (exact same problem as the OP).

I can't be bothered to trawl through the thread now, I'm pretty inebriated.
I think I was right in my perception though. I'll be who I want to thanks.
