The other day my phone started acting a bit odd as it is no longer getting locked when the screen is turned off. Normally it would lock itself after 30 minutes if I leave it untouched, and immediately if I click on the power button. Now when I turn the screen off it doesn't lock itself. Sometimes when I exit the camera or another app the phone locks itself. Also, the screen comes on at random times.
I haven't installed any new apps lately and have experienced this on Monxified and iHacker roms, so it doesn't appear to be rom specific. Is there any way to check what could be causing the non-locking and random screen on issues?

since a couple of days the phone freezes and reboots frequently after each battery change until network time sync is completed... In detail:
- After reinserting the battery and restarting the device it boots normally, I can enter the code to unlock the SIM and the touch screen is usable
- After a few seconds or so, the touch screen freezes, and does not respond to any action. The home and back buttons respond though.
- Then after a minute or so, the device restarts but does not ask for a new code. Is usable for a few seconds and freezes again.
- This cycle continues until the device has sync'd the time. After that it runs stable.
The device is rooted but runs the stock rom (4.1.2). I wouldn't be surprised it some app causes the trouble, but how can I detect this? Played with logcat already but there's not enough time to start the log recorder after a restart before the system freezes the first time.

I installed Words with Friends and for some reason the app gets stuck on a black screen. So I powered off my phone and turned it on again...... and now everytime it gets to the lockscreen it freeze up and reboots. Help?? I'm able to unlock the screen now, but after a few seconds or so the phone just freezes and reboots.
I have a Z1S so there is no hard factory reset available. It also freezes in Safe Mode so I have no idea what to do now.
Was able to get to factory reset in the phone so I'm fine now. If a mod can close this thread or something.

I got this phone about a month and a half ago, and since I got it I've noticed a lot of freezing and crashing (more so after the 5.1 update).
Some examples:
-I try unlocking the phone from active display and the screen goes black. The only way to get out of it is to hold the power button to restart.
-Sometimes the phone freezes on the lock screen randomly, and when I pick up the phone to look at it, the time is wrong and I can't physically unlock the phone, only turn the screen on and off, leading to me having to hold the power button down to shut off and restart.
-When on some apps, like twitter for example, the phone freezes, and I cannot do anything except turn off the screen by pressing the power button. When I try waking the phone, it stays black or sometimes theres a flash of the screen I was on before, and then it goes black again. Only thing I can do here is hold the power button down until "Power Off" shows up on the screen, and I press that to shut the phone off.
Today I cleared the cache, and since then the phone has froze once, causing me to do a hard reset. What should I try next? Any idea what the problem could be?

I have pretty much the exact same thing going on. It started last night... I first noticed I had some charging issues where the phone wasn't charging very quickly after the battery died (after a day of heavy use). I let it sit for awhile, then it booted up, and it showed the motorola splash screen. It gets all the way to the lock screen, although I'm unable to unlock the phone. The screen goes dark. It appears to still be getting texts and the like- although this screen blackness issue makes it so I can't unlock the phone. The one thing I can do is hold down the power button and turn it off. I've tried loading fastboot and doing a factory reset, although nothing appears to happen and it boots the same way. The other thing about it is that it appears to be running hot- way hot. Any ideas? I'm running stock rom, Verizon network, just updated to 5.1 when it came out last week.
Couldn't unlock the screen of the ME572C, screen unresponsive, booted to recovery, wiped cache, still unresponsive. Tapped the back of the tablet and it started working. I assume something is loose inside, any one know how to fix this so it won't happen again?
