I'm using the stock 2.5.335 ST and i'm desperatly looking for the "hide my ID" settings on the phone.
I'd like as it says to block my phone number when i call some people
Can you support me on this ?

Bump. I'd like the same thing. I have blacklist on my Android phone and I love it.
There are some applications in Marketplace that would block a number depending of the prefix they're calling from, but dont see any apps for blocking specific numbers.

what is the application name to block number by prefix ?
I'd like this as well, it's the only reason I'm still on Android.

Ain't there no need for this software? I really don't understand how there is no Call Blocker App since WP7 launch.

Went to install an app and noticed my number is wrong. I actually just now remember YouMail would have the wrong phone number for my default login as well.
So somehow when my sim card was setup, they missed a digit. Ive read the iphone is able to write a # to the sim card as can some other phones (though not all write it in a way the galaxy s can use it i guess?).
So my question is is there a hidden dialer code or app or anything im able to use to change the number, or does this have to be done OTA by the carrier or in one of their stores? Im hoping im able to just do this myself and get it done with.

The only rom which you have the possibility to change your number is CM7/miui , but somsung roms don't give you that options , with cm7 you can go into setting - calls - advance setting , then you will see your phone number options
I am using ASUS Zenfone a450cg and i am pretty upset with the interface that is used to receive calls, to be precise my prob is while i bring my phone out of my pocket, often the Reject Call with Message option gets activated thus end the incoming call. Is there any way to change the default interface. I have tried installing a few Dialers bt that didnt helped. Does installing a custom ROM will help me? If so, which one should i look for and what are the procedures, precaution should i look for? Please help guys...

Just go to Play Store and download App Locker... Then in its locking options lock incoming calls and set a pattern.. This way you will be asked to enter that particular pattern every time you receive a call and you won't be accidentally rejecting calls... Much better than going for a custom ROM... Works with my Zenfone Hit Thanks if I helped you...
Update to LOLLIPOP and update contact app and in its settings disable reject sms and it lock screen call ui show swipe to ans and rej..

When someone calls me, the phone will display both the name & number of the caller. I'd like to hide the phone number when somebody calls me and display the name only. Just like the iPhone.
I've searched a lot but I couldn't find a solution. I'll really appreciate your solution on this.

Perhaps you need a custom phone app other than the native one.

No I'm not talking about the service provider. In the iPhone if someone calls you you will see only the name of the caller that you have saved, while in Android will show both the name and phone number! And want to hide the phone number.

I think it must be phone app which determine whether to show only the name or both the name and phone number.
Anyone can advise which app may I use?
No is getting displayed on Call screen not in the dialer app, so I don't think so any app will be able to change it.
I boat the galaxy note 7 and also has the same limitations. Really disappointing.
I'll be really glad if someone can develop a specialized app and I'm willing to pay for this is favir.
This has been occuring after calls since pie ota. What is it? And how do I get rid of it? Btw the only button that seems to function is message fsr.

Since Pie upgrade in India, I've seen 'Hiya' service under 'Caller ID and spam protection' under Call settings. You can go directly to (call) Settings from three-doted menu in Contacts.
The service and thus, UI may change as per region. Please confirm if this is the case.

Then this might be a third party app. Can you check the same in Apps? Although logs can tell you the exact app and activity, you can check the same from permission monitor itself.
Is there any notification that the app is causing?
