No Sound On TV - Google Chromecast

Got the chromecast connected to Sony Bravia TV thru HDMI via a splitter but also tried connecting directly, same outcome. Using a HUDL2 tablet to cast a TV episode playing via VLC to TV using Chromecast cast to screen. Picture is perfect but there is no sound on TV, just on the tablet. The TV is also connected to a Samsung Soundbar via HDMI (TV ARC). Also connected to TV is a PS4, a PS3 and a media MKV player, all through a HDMI splitter, which all work fine. Any ideas?

[Q] Sound over MHL

Hello,
I have found an MHL to HDMI adapter and I was able to connect the Xperia T to my TV (Strange enough my Bravia TV from 2009 does not support HDCP so I connected to an old LG with 720p - Why this connection needs HDCP? Only Sony knows). The issue that I have with this LG TV is that sound is still played by the phone speaker. Can I set the sound to go via HDMI in the TV?
Thanks,
Mugur

Sound over HDMI works for me. I have the official Sony TV dock.

Chromecast causing audio dropouts on receiver

Hi folks, I have my chromecast connected directly to my Denon avr 3310 and powered from the USB port on my TV. Chromecast is working as expected. I get dolby digital plus with no problems and great hd pictures from Netflix. Trouble happens when I switch back to my satellite box. That's connected to my TV via hdmi and receiver via optical. Since adding chromecast I get audio dropouts when watching satellite. How do I know it's chromecast? When I remove the USB cable powering the chromecast from the TV all audio issues dissappear. Anyone have similar issues? Cheers mick
I would do what was suggested and move the usb to maybe a wall adapter for power for troubleshooting. Also make sure that somehow your optical input is not assigned to the same source as your chromecast hdmi input and double check all your input assignments on the Denon.

Same here with a Denon 790 and analog sources. The Chromecast is plugged on back of the receiver inside a bookshelf nook, so disconnecting it is impractical.
The workaround is to drill down the menu through Input Assign > [HDMI] for the port used by Chromecast > set to "None". When using the Chromecast again, reverse the procedure and reassociate the port. Don't forget which port number holds the Chromecast.
It's inconvenient and my wife explicitly Does Not Like It, but the dropouts stop when you disassociate the port. You eventually memorize the remote key sequence without needing the onscreen menu.
Hope this helps, even after 3+ years.

How can I play games on my One, on my TV?

Let me rephrase just in case, I'd like to run emulators on my HTC One, play them with a Moga Controller via bluetooth, and watch them on my tv via an HDMI cable. But can an hdmi cable transfer everything shown on screen like running emulators? I've read that it only works for watching movies and internet browsing.
If this is all possible, what kind of hdmi cable and adapter would I need? I know the One doesn't support micro-hdmi, only mhl. Any suggestions?

Yes MHL is what you need. I use one made by PNY. Make sure you give the adapter power through the micro usb port. From my adapter I use a standard HDMI cable to the TV.
I believe it just mirrors everything on your phone, unless the app is programmed to do differently (like not showing playback controls on external screen). I play Real Racing 3 and use Netflix and play music with MHL.
A few things, though: MHL selects resolutions based on what you TV reports. If your TV does 1080p, then MHL uses that but at a lower refresh rate (I think it's 24Hz). If your TV only does 720p, then MHL will use that but at higher refresh rate (30? not sure). I never found a way to manually set it.
Then there's also a bit of lag. So if MHL chooses 1080p and lower refresh rate, it could become quite difficult to play fast action games.

Can't live stream videos over HDMI cable to TV KFHD (tate) CM 12.1

KFHD (tate) CM12.1 20160710-Nightly-tate
Issue with live video streaming over hdmi cable to tv (KODI, YouTube, mp4)
Unit freezes when I try to stream over hdmi cable to tv.
I can live stream ok on the KFHD unit KFHD (tate) CM12.1 20160710-Nightly-tate
Issue with live video streaming over hdmi cable to tv (KODI, YouTube, mp4)
Unit freezes when I try to stream over hdmi cable to tv.
Can live stream same videos ok on the KFHD unit.
KFHD pairs with tv fine.
Can use chrome browser over hdmi cable to tv.
As soon as I try to play live streaming over hdmi, video and unit freezes.
If I download the same videos and play from storage, the videos play fine.
Amazon says this should work on the stock unit so the hardware is fine. Is there some setting I need to change under CM 12?
Amazon troubleshooting involves clearing data from "Launcher" and "Silk" apps but I don't see either of them under apps in CM12..

Chromecast 3 (2018)

Hi everyone!
Does anyone knows a method (either hardware or software) to force the Chromecast to output at 720p?
Background:
I have a DVI monitor and I used a simple HDMI to DVI adapter to plug my laptop in it.
My laptop died and I decided to use a Chromecast and my phone as a replacement.
After the Chromecast arrived and I plugged it in, I turned on screen mirror and hooked my kb/m to the phone and everything, only to realize that the sound was also being streamed to the Chromecast.
Needless to say that my monitor doesn't have audio output.
So I got one of those HDMI audio diverter to draw the audio and feed it to my audio system, so far so good.
I used my laptop to game was well, so after starting some withdraw from games, I decided to grab my PS2 console and got on of those PS2 to HDMI dongles and play some old-school games, then I started facing an issue: swapping cables.
To fix that I got one of those 3 port HDMI hubs and plugged both devices to it.
However the monitor is 720p, the HDMI audio diverter knows that and replicates this information to it's input port which makes the Chromecast display in 720p.
But the hub does not, it report it's 1080p making the Chromecast send 1080p video signal and the display only shows a black screen because of it not knowing how to deal with that.
So if there's a way to force the Chromecast to display in 720p it would be my salvation.
So if anyone out there knows any possible solution, please, I would be really grateful.
Thanks everyone!
