HELP - One of my two P8 Lite 2017 will not boot - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Hello
I have two P8 Lite 2017 phones and I wanted to root them both.
I followed the steps of [How To Root] Huawei P8 lite 2017 [PRA-LX1] -android 7.0-EMUI 5.0...
...and the two phones started well, but in one of them I wanted to offer it clean and I went to the TWRP and I must have cleaned something I should not.
I made a video of the phone. http://gofile.me/3tzJA/SrpacxLI7
Is there a ROM that I can install?
What should I do?
Thank you

Hi. When I click the links, it just stays on the loading screen.
I imagine if you at least have the huawei logo try to get to fastboot. Or there is twrp but device is not booting? If that so, just download latest full stock rom, copy to sdcard, in twrp make a normal wipe and install the zip.
But be sure that installing your stock rom back will remove your TWRP and root, at least that is what happens at an old P8 Lite.

Hi,
Thanks you for your answer.
I tested a first link and it works....it takes a few seconds and it appears a page to tranfer a video.
My TWRP works, and i have the huawei logo and then the screen turns black.
I don't now if I make a full backup of my stock rom unrooted....I dont think so
Where i can download the full stock rom for my P8 Lite 2017? I can't it where.

Flash the stock recovery and make a factory reset.

Can you boot into bootloader ?
You may change your recovery to the origine one then flash a new ROM

If you can enter fastboot mode and download official ROM pack, then you are all good.

A little bit of help needed...
Hi,
I basically did the same mistake as the other guys, unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp, all fine. Then I ***** up by trying to root fellowing a tuto made for the non-Che2-L11 ones.
I have no problem going into TWRP, the bootloader, or the black screen from huawei (witch looks like.. some kind of second recovery ?)
I managed to download the stock software from huawei ( Honor 4X Firmware (Che2-L11, Android5.1.1, EMUI3.1, C636B360, Malaysia)S.zip ) and also managed to download a version of HuaweiUpdateExtractor ( 0.9.9.5 ).
My problem now, is that if I understood correctly, I should extract the image files from the APP from the firmware zip I downloaded from Huawei.
Unfortunatly, there is no HuaweiUpdateExtractor profile for the honor 4x Che2-L11.
There I may need assistance, or guidance.
Does the profile already exists somewhere ?
How can I create my own, is it not too complex ?
Maybe someone already extracted thoses files and could make them available somewhere ?
Or maybe is there any other way to unbrick my phone ?
************************************
EDIT: Nevermind. I managed to extract the files without profiles. I flashed them 3 but nothing really changed.. So.. I'm kinda stuck. no Idea from here.
************************************
************************************
EDIT (of the edit) : Nevermind the previous nevermind ! It actually worked ! Well, kinda.. Seems my new "stock rom" is quite buggy, strangly, but nevertheless, it work Thanks

Thanks a lot.

Honor 7 Lite root

Hi,
I've been looking for instructions and stuff for rooting my phone Honor 7 Lite (NEM-L21) but I haven't found anything. The only valuable information I discovered was that Honor 7 Lite is probably a renamed Honor 5C for an european market. Some websites said it was renamed because there were changes in hardware (for example Honor 7 Lite supposedly doesn't have a fingerprint scanner, they say - but it's not true, from my experience I can say my phone does have it). So these websites can't be trusted anyway I guess. These two models look alike but I was thinking there could be differences anyway. I don't want to brick my phone. Has anybody tried to root this phone? Can anybody provide me any information about rooting it?
I'm sorry for my poor English and thank you very much for any answer.
Hi,
I have Honor 7 Lite NEM-L21 rooted by using method for Honor 5C. But before rooting, You must have an unlocked bootloader. Steps are:
1. unlock bootloader, after unlocking bootloader, phone will be wiped, so backup your data first - http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/...our-honor-5c-official-and-unofficial-methods/
2. install custom twrp recovery for Honor 5c (known also as Huawei Nemo and Honor 7 Lite) - https://twrp.me/devices/huaweihonor5c.html
3. after installing twrp i recommend doing backup of boot, cust, oeminfo and system partitions to SD card
4. and now is possible install SuperSU zip from twrp recovery. Some instructions on the net recommends using the SuperSU-2.65 - https://download.chainfire.eu/921/SuperSU
Big Red Warning: for now, there are no firmware released for NEM-L21 in UPDATE.APP form for reflashing the phone from the Huawei eRecovery in case of if you bricked the phone. So, please do things carefully. I strongly recommends to do point 3 ASAP after installing twrp.

+1. This is the only safest way OP.
Sent from my honor 5X using XDA Labs
Instructions for rooting Honor 7 Lite/5C NEM-L21 b100 are relatively easy to find and follow: unlock with Huawei's code, flash TWRP and SuperSu...
But for me, rooting before updating firmware was a big mistake! Wish I didn't unlock&root this phone yet; should have just updated with FF.
After rooting i wanted to FF update b100 -> b351 Nougat7/EMUI5... But it required stock recovery, which I had already flashed to TWRP, damn!
Now, another option would have been to flash custom ROM, but I didn't find great ROMs around, just somewhat commercial LineageOS (lacks e.g. dual-sim support)
Anyway, I tried to flash b100 -> b351 with TWRP, failed and ended up with test-keys firmware. Then tried to download FF, but the only input method in test-keys seemed to be google voice instead of keyboard = no success.
Then couldn't find stock recovery.img anywhere, so extracted it from stock update.app with extractor. Luckily the extractor had linux version too.
Then flashed stock recovery, updated with update.app method from test-keys to b132, then FF update to b351.
Doesn't seem possible to root b351 yet; now waiting for Nougat7/EMUI5-compatible version of TWRP.
Last time i modified some Android phone 5 years ago, so count me as n00b sharing this bad experience. Hopefully somebody could learn something
Hello everyone.
I tried rooting with the method mentioned by circulus. Running into a wall, can't get TWRP to start, only thing I get is the default EMUI recovery. Honor 7 lite, Android 6.0, EMUI 4.1.2 and bootloader is obviously unlocked.
Any ideas?

No... Its stuck in the warning screen... I can still boot the system by holding power but if I attempt to reboot to recovery, its stuck in that warning. I can't access my PC just yet so it would be nice to be able to reboot to recovery without a PC.

Hi fellas.
Been busy but got an update, phone is successfully rooted now. Brainfarted a bit earlier and wasn't booting to TWRP.
Me no brain sometiems.

[Stock Rom] Huawei *Prague* PRA-xxxC432B182

[Stock Rom] Huawei (Prague) PRA-xxxC432B182
For restoring/ rescue your device.P8 Lite 2017 - PRA-LX1, LX2, LX3, LA-1
P9 Lite 2017
Nova Lite
Honor 8 Youth
Created and tested on this device:
Huawei P8 lite 2017 [PRAGUE]
Model number: PRA-LX1
Build number: PRA-LX1C432B182
free device
The PRA is extrem sensitiv.
Any unconsidered, unofficial intervention, don't forgive it.
Hundreds of users have already "bricked" their device.
The response to the dealers is enormous.
To restore your devices,
I'll provide a complete rom.
It is 100% functional and rooted with SuperSu.
It is to be applied to the device via TWRP restoring.
But it is also suitable for this purpose without an OTA update,
to get the current firmware.
Be sure to read the following instructions carefully.
You're doing it at your own risk!
Rom installation:
In the download folder:
2017-12-30-PRAstockB182root (zip)
there are 26 backup files compressed as Zip files.
After downloading, unpack all files individually into this directory. Then delete all zip's. Now copy the whole directory to your TWRP backup folder. Where your other backups are.
Now flash the stock recovery and perform a factoryreset.
Now flash TWRP and make a wipe of the data and system partitions in TWRP.
Then restore my backup and reboot.
The firmware and the kernel are already rooted.
If necessary, you can install Busybox.
If the device does not boot, the bootloader must be unlocked again with the Huawei unlockcode.
It is a little bit more work for you to unpack everything individually, but this way a faultless installation is possible.
I have tested the up- and download, unpacking and restoring several times. It works perfectly. The rom is bug free.
Now create a new TWRP backup
and remove all older backups from the TWRP backup folder, otherwise they could cause problems later.
Save it to another folder or to
USB-/Stick, or HD.
I would now like to make a few comments on the end of the year:
I've had the P8 lite 2017 for a year.
The first rooting was developed by me.
The SuperSu and the first rooted kernel,
enabled the developers
@Tecalote and KangVip.
TWRP was provided by the LineageOS team. Again and again I have added fresh rootings and roms.
Nevertheless, increased Bricks are not missing.
It took an enormous amount of time to find
help the users. Unfortunately, this didn't work out for everyone.
My recommendation:
Now set up your device completely. Then create a complete backup with the ingenious Huawei Backup App. Now you take the recovery back.
"fastboot flash recovery recovery. img"
Removes TWRP from your brain for the time being.
Your device is now perfect and the firmware is original. You also have root and the OTA update authorization. When OREO comes, you just wait until I announce the new rooting."
I wish you all the best for 2018.
WARNING !
If all this has worked on my device, it does not mean that it goes with everyone else. Follow exactly the instructions to prevent damage. The execution is your risk.
Never make a factory reset in TWRP. Brick !!! Wipes only in stock recovery.
NOTE: Despite careful preparation I can not guarantee that through the implementation of this Guidance does not create damage to the device or operating system, and therefore assume no liability for ensuing damage and malfunction of hardware and software! If you are still unsure, follow these steps: Only perform the procedure if any mentioned conditions (model number, Android version, etc.) apply to you or your device. Read the instructions carefully and completely, check unfamiliar terminology by google or xda. Downloaded files check for viruses. A backup of important settings and data make. The instructions do not perform, if you do not know what you're doing.
Thank you very much: @Tecalote, KangVip,Chainfire, Stephen (Stericson), Jmz Software, LinageOs team, JRummy, as well as.
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
Update 2017-12-31:
I removed the part "dual recovery".
The support on xda is finished.

I couldn't restore my phone. I followed all of your instructions and after restoring, when I reboot, the phone goes only in TWRP (no volume keys pressed). Any ideas on what I can do?
In any case thank you for the thread, it's good to have a well described procedure for these things
Restore your last backup and repeat the procedure.
Try this one first:
Root again with the SU (B182) from the download.
Tip for life: try not to trust random nerds on forums, offering "ROMs" and what they call "tutorials". Stick to the outlet which sold you the phone, and deal with them and/or the manufacturer, and you can't go far wrong.

UPDATE: I solved in another way, which is: booted to fastboot mode, restored the stock recoveries (recovery1 to recovery1, erecovery to recovery2), then the phone booted normally as it should have had. At that point I could reflash twrp to recovery1, but that is optional.
I think the phone tried to boot but having the wrong recovery in recovery2 slot caused problems (just a random hypothesis). Hope this helps

Hello!
I want to follow this guide, it should be fine for my Dual SIM Variant, right?
I have a problem with one file, that is 'version.emmc.win.md5.zip' that can't be downloaded from MEGA. Can someone please provide a working link for that file?
Also a doubt: when all the files will be ready my idea is to restore your TWRP backup, flash stock recovery then lock bootloader, to make it as near to stock as possible: will this work? I have another TWRP backup that is running on my phone, but if I lock the bootloader it won't start, if I unlock the bootloader there no problems at all.
Thanks for your interesting topic!

EDIT 2: I made some mistakes here and there, but the TWRP booted and now I have the phone on your ROM Version! I'm trying to clean everything and do a clean install if I can...
EDIT 3: I've done a full phone clean by using the 'Factory Reset' option in 'Settings'... now the phone boots, but:
1. NFC/GPS are not working, they are blinking
2. FM Radio is not working (it says com.huawei.... and has an Android icon instead of the original icon)

To get the rom completely clean you do the following:
Go to my root thread section: Threadupdate: 2018-01-02 and work through the instructions. Then you have a perfect clean stock rom.

Your support is very helpful, thanks!
I have problems on the steps to reproduce, even after reading your guide :')
This is what I do:
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset + Wipe cache with stock recovery
2. Flash TWRP
3. Open TWRP, clean data, system and also cache + dalvik
4. Reboot the phone to a fully working with B182, in English with Dual SIM fully recognised
5. What I have to do from now on to have a fully stock experience (remove custom Kernel, reflash stock recovery and erecover, re-lock bootloader and fully ready to Oreo)?
Can you please guide me?
Thanks and sorry for my problems, but I work with Nexus devices thare a bit more 'elastic' in flashing
The kernel is stock. You just have to flash the eRecovery and recovery. That's all.

I can't also relock the bootloader, because the phone will boot to erecovery (recovery2) and won't let me reach the boot of the ROM. Have you got any suggestion?
If leave it as it is now (unlocked bootloader with stock recovery1 and recovery2) will Oreo arrive without any problems?
Your support is awesome, thanks
If you now take my UPDATE.APP via dload the problems should be gone.

Sounds good!
If I flash the stock recovery, then update officially with an UPDATE.APP from SD Card everything should be ok.
Where can I find your UPDATE.APP? I didn't find it in your MEGA Folder
Thanks, again, for your incredible support!

HELP with PRA-LX3!! Nothing after twrp factory reset

hello,
I hava a P9 Lite 2017 (PRA-LX#) and i have unlocked bootloader, rooted following this one , and xposed framework installed.
Everything worked fine, but today i "feel" the phone a bit slower, so i decided to do a wipe of cache/dalvik (i remembered i haven't done it in anh of the previous steps), but at boot i was asked for the password, but no keyboard was displayed... Been away from home i decided to do a factory reset from twrp, but at boot i only got a black screen, i couldn't connect to hisuite nor adb...
I can boot to erecovery, but downloading firmare fails.
I can boot to fastboot
I can boot to twrp, can i install a stock rom from it?
Regards,
EDIT:
I tried this, but forced update fails.
I extracted from above update.app, boot.img, recovery.img and system.img and followed this and this instructions, but factory reset stays at 99%.
My next choice would be to try to flash from twrp. Can i create a twrp lashable file from update.app or update.zip??
Maybe this one? It also says P9 Lite 2017 on the Official Firmware Details.
If everything else fails, just install a custom rom by Haky through TWRP that works on P9 lite 2017 or you ask them if it will.

Thanks, i have found something similar, but Firmware finder couldn't find a firmware for my device. If someone could provide the stock firmware i could try it. It also is not available in huawei webpage.
I'll try this and see what happens

Can't boot to twrp

Device: eva-l09
Software: EMUI 5, Android 7.0
Kernel: 4.1.18-gd97adb9
Build: EVA-L09C432B386
I flashed the newest twrp and when I reboot the device to recovery it hangs on the "device is booting" screen and it freezes.
I tried flashing twrp to recovery2 too but that did not help (I can't even boot back to huawei's eRecovery).
I can't update with OTA because it gets softbricked if I do.
Please help.
Have you unlocked the bootloader?

What does it mean 'newest TWRP' - are you flashing the proper TWRP as ported to Huawei P9 Nougat?
Find the 'newest' in this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787111&postcount=1
With the wrong TWRP (not supporting encryption etc), you may brick the phone

I flashed this one. It's weird because I can still access Huawei's recovery. Isn't it supposed to overwrite it?

Do you know the trick that you must, and how, to boot to TWRP immediately after flashing, otherwise you loose TWRP

Thank you but it got solved by the correct twrp. Thought that the latest zip on twrp's official site would be the correct one, but no.

Thanks, it worked. How can it be that the zip on the official twrp site doesn't work?

There are different TWRPs for Huawei for Android 6, 7 and 8
Who knows what they have
there (maybe for M), but search on XDA to find what and how will work (eg, there is also TWRP for O but not supporting encryption/decryption, hence unable to access Data partition and Internal mem)
