Hi,
Is there anyway to delete a pairing on bluetooth, you can change and modify a device but not delete it.
I need to fully remove to re pair again.
Thanks

Deleting bluetooth pairing
I have a Jaguar X type and have been using a Kaiser paired OK. But the Jaguar bluetooth is memory limited and doesn't use the PDA's phonebook. Now I have installed a Parrott 3100 which uses the phone book. Great, but...I deleted the pairing with the Jaguar by tapping on the link as previuosly described but everytime I start the car the Jaguar tries to pair with the Kaiser and a screen asks me if i wan't to pair - even though it was previulsly deleted. The same happens with my Nokia 6300. Delete the pairing but the Jaguar still tries to pair - every 5 mintues - even after pairing with the Parrott. It is very annoying to have paired with the Parrott and then every 5 mins hear a beep, the radio mutes and a screen asks me if I want to pair with the Jag.
Any help won how to delete the pairing on the Kaiser (and Nokia 6300) PERMANENTLY welcome.

you rock!!!!!!!!!!!
one year i have been trying to do this.
ONE YEAR111111
I keep getting an error "paired but not connected" anytime I try to hook up my galaxy s/captivate to another blue tooth device (aka another phone - aka trying to send files across)
i've read numerous reports, and the last post I just read mentioned there being a fix for it if you root the phone. Could someone point me in the right direction, give me the right keywords to search, or something.
Anyone know if it's just an app, because i've been using another method to install third party apps, without having to do a root. I was trying to steer away from that, but if I must I will, this bluetooth thing is annoying.
If you have paired your car's bluetooth to more than one phone, or more than one time, the car's database will not auto connect. It won't know which pair to auto connect to. I had to delete all prior pairs then pair it one time and then it worked beautifully each time I started my car.
Hope this helps...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Gtab w/vegan 5 Holux GPS slim 236 external GPS... sounds promising!
pairs but not connected... Googling shows this to be a common issue with no apparent solution. One post stated that android can only pair with headphones..really???
appbrain finds several programs for connecting Bluetooth GPS.click the market to install one... not found in market. Strange that my droidx finds it fine and installs it. Do the market fix again just to be sure..no deal. I don't understand the paired but not connected thing and I REALLY don't understand how appbrzin finds things that then can't be downloaded and installed. Thoughts???
To run Bluetooth GPS you need BlueGPS program.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bluegps4droid/files/
Same thing I have on my tab "paired but not connected", which does not prevent GPS receiver to work with the tab.
Make sure you check "Allow mock locations" in settings.
As of the market... There is a fix somewhere to get the full access and see GPS apps..
Since I installed new ROM yesterday, I didn't get a chance to read what has to be done.... But, I'll try to find it.
Update
More research finally revealed something. BlueGPS4droid at sourceforge not the market. So, the external gps was "paired but not connected" until there was an application (bluegps) to "connect" to. Once that was installed I turned on the bluetooth and it immediately saw the hollux remote gps receiver. Tested it with Maps and it worked beautifully. So theories:
1. If there isn't an app waiting to use the bluetooth device it will pair but not connect until something asks for it.
2. The market won't show you apps that "can't run" on your device. (this needs more testing but I imagine phone apps won't be available to the gtab either).
Hope this helps someone.
I have not been able to get the bluetooth turned on since I got this damn thing. also the MMS will not send unless I turn off my WiFi. wtf are HTC and ATT gettin at?
Anyone else have any similar issues?
I use Bluetooth every day; using both car stereo bluetooth and bluetooth headphones at work. I've had zero problems making connections to devices:
- Infinity Car Stereo
- No-Name BT Headphones
- Bose Speakers
- Motorola MetaWatch
What specific device are you trying to connect to via Bluetooth?
I've haven't had any problems sending/receiving MMS messages; but I don't send many of them.

I've noticed MMS will time out when WiFi is connected. also Bluetooth just fails to turn on at all. I never had an issue with any Android device like this.
Bluetooth turns on as it should for me, although I haven't tried pairing with anything. So that may be of no help to you.
But on my device, MMS works with Wi-Fi enabled and connected.
Sorry to give you the typical customer service request, but have you tried a full factory reset?
I think it has something to do with the temp root. Before running temp root all works fine.. after temp root is when it all goes to ****.

just curious.. but have you rebooted your phone yet? I have no issues with Bluetooth, and have done the temp root, but i also rebooted when i was done doing what i needed with temp root. From what i understand, the zerg rush they use for temp root can kinda trash a few things and it gets fixed upon reboot.

Yes I have.. at the moment though bluetooth is needed to communicate with my laptop. I am pulling some system files from the phone and decompiling them. I found a few interesting things already. I want to know why the phone repairs the directories after deleting or removing system apps.

I'm using a slave for AA and it turns on bt even if I turn it off. I don't want to use it's bt as I want my main phone connected for calls. I've set up tasker on my main phone to start a hotspot when connected to my cars bt however the slave takes over the bt and kicks the main phone off. Any ideas how to stop the slaves bt connecting?
Unpair the slave phone's BT connection to AA, then it will be impossible for it's BT to connect to AA even if the slaves phone turns on BT.
Even when I delete the car from phone and the phone from car it still turns on bt and somehow the phone still remembers my car
When you say "turns" on Bluetooth - do you mean that it "connects" to the car, or just that the Bluetooth "service" turns on the slave phone, but does not connect?
Also, even though the Bluetooth icon may show that it is "on", just by seeing your car name does not mean that it has connected to your car - it could just be displaying your car name because it is "scanning" and it is simply showing you nearby devices - but it is not actually connected to that device.
When you unpair a device, it is virtually impossible for the devices to connect to each other automatically. They need to be "manually" repaired again before they can "connect".
The Bluetooth is off. When I connect it to the HU it turns on and says my leaf even though I deleted it on car and phone. I even tried aatweaker to turn off Bluetooth but it won't work then. The phone is an old Samsung S3 on lineage android 9. Could it be a Samsung thing? I just tried it with mi mix 2 main phone and it auto turns on bt on that too. Does android auto have to have by activated to function or is there a workaround?
It sounds like you have a custom rom/rooted device, so maybe you can use titanium backup to freeze the Bluetooth service on the slave device so it won't run.
But, the HU might still be showing your car name because it is getting that name through the USB/Wifi AA connection, so are your slave is also connected using Bluetooth - meaning if you make a call, are you saying that the call audio will go through your slave phone?

Yep. Running lineageos. It seems to be getting the name through usb alright and calls would be coming throught the slaves Bluetooth if it had a sim in it.

The only other advice I have is to freeze the Bluetooth service on the slave so that it's impossible for the slave to connect to the head with Bluetooth.
I had a look at titanium. How do you do that?
Well, there is always a chance of putting your phone in a boot-loop doing things like this, so do this at your own risk...
Go into Titanium backup to where it is listing all the apps (make sure filter is showing system apps/modules).
Type "Bluetooth" in the top search bar of titanium.
It will list a bunch of modules that have the word "Bluetooth" in it.
One of them is the main bluetooth service module - it will probably just say "Bluetooth" and it's icon will probably be the Bluetooth logo.
Tap on that module, then at the top of titanium there will be a button called "Freeze!" - tap it and it will freeze the Bluetooth service.
You should then immediately (do not reboot) see if this fixes your issue and prevents this slave device from connecting over bluetooth.
If it doesn't then go back into titanium and do an Unfreeze of that module. This means that your issue can not be fixed by disabling the Bluetooth service.
If this does work, then see if you get any pop-up errors saying Bluetooth is not running or stopped.
Again, even if it seems like it's working with Bluetooth disabled, there is always a chance that rebooting the device could cause problems, so again do this change at your own risk.
If you want to play it safe, I would make a post in the rom forum thread you are using and ask the members if it will cause any problems by freezing the bluetooth service.
I went through the same thing. I'm assuming what happens is since the AA slave phone is connected by USB to the car, AA can command the Bluetooth to be connected. No amount of unpairing or forgetting the phone will stop it. It will just reconnect the next time you use it.
I purchased Titanium Backup Pro specifically to freeze the Bluetooth connection but it didn't work. I could disable Bluetooth but not freeze connections. I need a Bluetooth connection on my slave phone for another device so I can't disable Bluetooth.
My car allows multiple secondary connections but only one primary connection for outgoing calls so it isn't a big problem for me.
The biggest problem I have is not being able to make an outgoing phone call from Android Auto when I've found a phone number using Google Assistant. If anyone knows a workaround for this I'd sure like to know it.

This is one last thing you can try - but again do at your own risk!
OK, since you were able to install Titanium backup (TB), that means the device is rooted.
If the device is rooted using a non-magisk method, then try using TB to first make a backup copy of the Bluetooth service module, then when you are sure it is backed up, then "uninstall" the module. This might work because I have seen android be able to use a "frozen" module before, but I have never seen a module rise up from the dead!
If the device was rooted using Magisk, then TB can't uninstall the module because the system partition is read-only. So in this case you can install a magisk module called "Debloater" which is a Magisk module that you install, then run a terminal app, type "su" and type "debloater" in the terminal app and follow the instructions to uninstall the Bluetooth service module (debloater will allow you to reinstall the BT service module)
Then reboot and hopefully Bluetooth will be as dead as a door nail.
But again, uninstalling the Bluetooth service module may cause a bootup problem, so there is this risk.

I can disable Bluetooth but I don't want to do that. I have another device that needs to be connected to the slave phone by Bluetooth. I just want to stop my car from connecting to the phone by Bluetooth. My understanding was that is possible by freezing the Bluetooth state so no other devices can connect (maybe I'm wrong about this - I haven't found the exact description of what freezing an app does).
Actually, I'm not even sure I need to stop my car from connecting to my slave phone by Bluetooth. I just need to be able to tell AA to use my primary phone that is connected by Bluetooth for outgoing calls.
Freezing an app (apk file) is suppose to totally disable it and prevent it from running, but it doesn't actually uninstall the apk. This is why sometimes the OS can still access it even when it's frozen, but that does not happen often - usually freezing an app prevents if from running.
I am still very surprised to hear that even if you unpair the connection on both devices, that AA will still repair and connect them - that is unusual behavior.

Well, then you are in a pickle because even if this TB method worked to freeze the BT service, that would also prevent the slave device from connecting to that other device.
