Xposed Framework won't work with Lollipop - How do we replace functionality?

Updated using the Nexus toolkit. Worked beautifally, rooted and stock recovery. But sad to see that I can't use Xposed! I love Wanam.
From Android Authority - http://www.androidauthority.com/xpos...llipop-540928/
Quote:
One of the under-the-hood changes brought by Android 5.0 Lollipop is the adoption of ART as the only runtime on Android, replacing the aging Dalvik. While ART brings faster app execution thanks to its use of ahead-of-time compilation, it also happens to break Rovo89’s Xposed Framework. For this reason, Xposed doesn’t work on devices running KitKat with ART, as well as on all devices running Lollipop.

Yea. Xposed framework author will need to issue an updated version for lollipop.
Someone made a list of xposed module replacements. It's a short list but a good start. I've checked the Apps Ops replacement they mention from play store and it works great. just make sure you get the right one, there are similarly named ones that don't work.

[HELP] Built-in Updater for Non-Market Android App

I have developed an android app using android studio. Now the problem is that i won't be publishing the app to any markets eg. google play store, and so want to integrate an update function in my app, so that it periodically checks for and updated version of the app from my server and prompts the user to download and install the newer version of the app. i am really new to android coding and couldn't find anywhere how to achieve this function. The user should also be able to click a button to check for an update manually. All this needs to be done without root.
How do i code this function?
Please Help!!

Xposed vs systemless xposed?

I do not use androidPay or banking apps on my phone because I think it is unwise to do anything financial on a mobile device.
My current ROM is lineageos 14.1 which updates fine with Xposed framework installed. So I don't have to deal with stock ota updates.
For someone like me, on a custom rom, that does not use androidPay or banking apps on a phone, is there any advantage to switching from regular Xposed to systemless xposed?

If you don't care very much about system/less installation of zips because you're on a custom rom, maybe the only advantage is that systemless xposed is easier to remove if you end up in a bootloop or if you have other kind of problems.
Also, disabling magisk will disable xposed (again, in case of problems).
So, I think the main benefit is this. I tested when I was on Oreo (now I'm on P beta) and yes, in case of bootloop or crashes, disabling xposed modules or systemless xposed in magisk is like a life saver sometimes.

Personally I don't"t think it matters. I am using s8 stock noughat 7.0 rom using rovo"s xposed ver 89 and magisk 16.4 with no issues.
From my understanding reading the op for systemless xposed it's basically Rovo"s version ported to be installed through magisk. So what ever problems you have with one version you would have with the other (app wise that is).
Either version does not pass safety net and can effect play store certification.
I am currently running about 10 exposed apps + about 13 root apps at the moment.
At the end of the day I think it would be a personal choice as to which you choose to use.

Do you think what a wired desktop is more secure than your android/IOS device nowdays? ALL the OSs have their own compromises and malware, specially desktop OSs.

Xposed not working on Samsung S5

Hello,
I seem to have installed Xposed successfully, because in the Xposed app it says, I have installed Xposed Framework v89 successfully.
however it does not seem to work.
I have installed the Module MinMinGuard and it says Xposed is not enabled.
How can I verify if it works or not?
I installed the official Xposed Version.
I remember, that some time in the past I had to install wanams Version for Xposed to works, but since I can only find old Versions, I would like to use the official version.
How can I get it to work?
I use Resurrection Remix ROM v5. 8.2, which is Nougat 7.1.1
Thanks

The exposed installer app main screen will tell you if the exposed framework itself is active or not. After installing MinMin guard did you reboot. Also in installer menu under modules make sure the module is checked then reboot.

Yes, I rebooted.
I have now uninstalled MinMinGuard, but I can not install it again.
It download the addon, but when the download has finished, there is no button to install it, like there used to be.
Does the official Xposed work with a S5 and my CustomROM or only wanams Version?
If I remember correctly, in the past I was only able to install wanams version, but it seems to be outdated by now.
I also get a notification, that I have to update Xposed, but I don't know where to find a newer Version

I am using official rovo's ver 89 on stock 7.0 rom with no issues. I believe exposed is more firmware and architecture related rather than device(with exceptions of course).
As to to custom ROMs I am not sure as I having only used stock ROMs but there are threads here on XDA for your rom. If exposed was not going to work on your device I would think you would know about it.
MimMin Guard(ver 2.0.2) is working for me. I have only been using it for a short time (running 2 other ad blockers as well) have noticed that there are no notifications to say if it is blocking or not unless you open app up and scroll through app lists.
When downloading modules is complete it installs automatically then should tell you to reboot.
Not to sound like a broken record but remember when un/installing reboot.
I believe wanums versions are for Samsung devices on lollipop/marshmellow.
As to updates as far as I know there are none yet for nougat unless you have magisk version or an unofficial version.
Link below is for minmin guard thread for more info

Edit: Sorry just realized yes it does come up with install option. Sounds like you only disabled the module and not uninstalled it.

I did remove MinMinGuard completely.
Now I've found out, that I can no longer install any Xposed addon.
It seems to download the addons, but it won't install.
Also I always get a notification, that I need to update Xposed...
I'll try remove and reinstall Xposed.

What version of exposed installer are you on.
Latest version is 3.1.5
Edit: You could also try clearing data and cache in your app settings.

It's possible you downloaded the wrong version of the app. If you look at various apps on APKMirror, such as Google Photos, there are many different variants available. You want to use an arm64-v8a version, preferably "nodpi" as that should work with all devices.

For some reason Google made an absurd last minute decision to make 32bit arm apps incompatible with the Pixel 7 at the software level. There is a workaround which I can confirm does work, as I am using it, but to get it to work if you have already rooted your phone with magisk you will have to backup your data and then do a wipe of the device.
The workaround is at this thread

I am trying 64bit versions apk only but those are mod apks for games and I think modded apk Google might have banned installing on Pixel 7/7 Pro

There's a new restriction with Android 13 for sideloaded apps not from Play Store, F-Droid and maybe other stores. I ran into it with an apk from Github. Your error doesn't relate but installing from a file manager is a symptom. In any case, if you think this restriction could be part of your problem search ACCESS_RESTRICTED_SETTINGS for a possible workaround.
@Nnik345 here you can find an answer and imo you should ask related questions better here instead of opening a new thread.
