Hello, what is for you the best kernel/governor to get smooth and responsive experience with the best battery life ? Thanks.
Im on jdc team aosp rom and the battery life plus performance is excellent on the stock kernel settings. You can try bb kernel for this rom too, which has performance benefits and maybe minor degrade in battery life, not noticeable to most users. Ill suggest you use stock kernel on this rom. Note: im also using google play services doze and unified hosts adblock magisk modules. For good battery life, download the app called app opd from play store and from there restrict background activity permission for apps you dint want running in the background and dont want notifications from. Also restrict keep awake permissions.
Ive tried tweaking kernel settings in maby ways in many roms and many kernels. It never gives any better battery life, rather affects performance badly. Dude you bought a snapdragon 820 phone. Dont worry so much about battery and enjoy your life. Use my suggestions in first paragraph and youll be fine.

Hey guys, just thought I'd poll and ask some questions?
So if looking for the best possible battery life (over peformance) which is recommended,
true official stock samsung ROM? or stock ROM e.g. Adrenaline ROM etc
I've tried Stocklite, Adrenaline and am currently using Thunderbolt. However my battery life never goes over a day, even with Juice Defender Ultimate and SetCPU profiles.
Any one else have any experiences with good roms? Battery calbiration tips? charging tips anything?
Thanks

1.The battery life depends more upon your baseband rather than the roms.
Ofcourse the roms do make a difference!
Eg. Earlier i was using Stocklite v7.1 on DDKQ8, and it used to last a day, now on XWKTM it lasts more than that.
2.The battery calliberation is said to be a myth as an official google android developer stated that it does not affect the battery in anyway. (Tried it personally too, no change in battery life!)
3.Underclock when you are not using heavy apps on your phone.
4.The way you use your phone makes a great difference, switch off the bluetooth, gps, data, wifi when not needed! Reduce the brightness, it saves the battery!
Hope all this would help you!
Hello,
I just got myself an optimus 4x HD and i was wondering why it so slow and hanging everytime when i want to open the menu. Also the battery life is very poor.
I read that the tegra 3 is very nice powerful and smart power saving.
So what can i do to get that effect?
I got the latest android STOCK ROM installed and the stock kernel.
I want to flash cyanogenmod only when i 100 percently know that this will fix my problem.
(When i do can i get official roms? I had an XU before and there was no official CM ROM for it)
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad language (im using tapatalk and the battery is going low very fast so i got to hurry )
Tegra 3 itself is, but the p880 isn't. You can't do really much. There are tweaks that give you a bit better performance OR battery life. Best battery life is on stock, with tweaks you may reach the same on custom roms. Custom roms tend to have better performance. There are plenty of official roms for the device.
Damm it well ill try official cm rom and a custom kernel there are plenty of them so there is nothing i can do now?

Actually i find custom roms to be friendly with battery.
With my device and stock roms i get about 2h screen and and 8-9h overall life.
With custom roms - about 2.30h screen and 11h. overall.
i use only 2g, wi-fi always on, screen brightness 35%.
no auto sync, no location detection.
According to me, this settings are FAR away from battery drainage, still the device battery life sux.
3 Major drawback with p880
- absurd battery life
- camera quality is very bad for 8mp, it makes pics more like 5mp
- overheating constantly, no matter what rom, kernel or settings
Yeah i noticed that... well actually in winter the overheating point is not that bad... got an alternative to LG P880? Maybe with Tegra 4 or K1 (acutally never heard of smartphone with K1 inside)
Tapatalking ^^
With Nova Launcher and Leandroid it works pretty good
Try it its smooth and battery will last little bit longer
Tapatalking ^^
You have to think of the p880 as an alfa romeo 8c,
great specs, good design, good components but a shopping cart has better handling
on stock JB ROM, i had to disable the hidden MLT to get rid of the lags, to a certain extent
now on Beanstalk 4.4.4010 with Archidroid's optimizations + iodak v10 CM kernel, my battery is lasting over a day (with light usage 1.5-2hrs onscreen time). never even got close to that with stock JB ROM.
Performance is also much better on the said ROM and kernel
I'm looking for a kernel and custom rom that give me a perfect balance between battery life and performance on my Nexus 6. Thanks for the help.
Bliss pop and elementalx
I use BrokenOS(personal preference, mainly for UI) and Sensei kernel for battery. Its extremely customizable and upstreams the best features and optimizations from other kernels like elementalx and Franco and the likes. He releases it a few days after (or day of) and its extremely customizable. I've used it since release 5. He's currently on release 34
BlissPop and Franco Kernel :good:
I notice significant battery improvement with ElementalX kernel over stock kernel.
first off, kernels do not give you better battery. its a huge misconception. a kernel can help you better your battery, but will not improve your battery. you can get the same improvements by messing with your cpu yourself. battery life is all about how you personally use your device, how you set it up, what kinds of apps you install, and ver much the quality if your phone/data signal. thats it. there is no magic pill(kernel) that you can take to improve your battery life. if you want better battery life, keep away from terribly written apps, and apps that drain your phones resources.

Even then some kernels have customizations and optimizations to help lengthen the battery life. For example different CPU govorners and reduce unneeded clock speed overhead and under clocking can help too with the help of a custom kernel. So yes, poorly written apps and sensors that hog power tend to be the majority of power loss, I still think that the kernels introduce a bit of help too
I'm using Official RR remix rom Nougat and I was wondering if there is any kernel that i can use to extend battery life with. I dont want to severely underclock so i cant play any games or anything. Maybe something in the middle between battery and performance.
The kernel will help with underclocking, but it's even better if you combine it with the AKT profiles.
There are 3-5 profiles to choose from, targeting to battery, performance or balance between these 2.
Unleashed by ONEPLUS 3T rooted
Go for Blackbird V1.1
Awesome battery backup on other roms compared to RR.
But better than many other kernel with regards to battery
Hello all. Im using exynos oreo seb variant. Battery life was awfull. Guys on telegram said to do factory reset i did. The life was way more better but not good. Like my old note 3. Does the root and other rom with kernel change my battery life?
Root itself shouldn't affect battery life like that, but yes a different rom/kernel or specific apps might. Suggest using a battery status app to narrow down problematic apps, and checking the threads for the rom/kernel you are using. Other things like screen brightness and signal strength also play a role.
