Hello all. Im using exynos oreo seb variant. Battery life was awfull. Guys on telegram said to do factory reset i did. The life was way more better but not good. Like my old note 3. Does the root and other rom with kernel change my battery life?
Root itself shouldn't affect battery life like that, but yes a different rom/kernel or specific apps might. Suggest using a battery status app to narrow down problematic apps, and checking the threads for the rom/kernel you are using. Other things like screen brightness and signal strength also play a role.

Hello everyone,
I'm running some tests to see the battery consumption on my Galaxy S i9000. I'm using the gingerbread version of darkys ROM.
Firstly, what do you think of the battery life? In this specific test I used the phone in a very light way, made some messages/calls and read few mails.
Secondly, is it normal to have depressions in the battery chart that display less battery than it shows later? How is it computed? Isn't just some logic level of the voltage battery?
Lastly, in the case of buying another battery, is it worthless to be genuine?
Thanks a lot
I have same qestion like you, in the another thread....

Sorry! Obviously I didn't searched properly. Hope someone can clarify us
Is it a gingerbread issue?
Even big batteries will "recover" after heavy use so ur graph is quite normal.
Also be aware that if the battery calibration isnt xorrect then that will lead to weird graphs too. E.g. Losing 1% over 8hrs after flashing a new rom is most likely due to inaccurate battery calibration.

When I install a new rom the battery stats are always deleted? Or it depends?
I also having the same prob...batt consumptions are always the main concern when come to flashing a new rom...Darky's can only last me for 1day with heavy usage and recently flashed to MIUI which can only last for <8hours with the same usage...im not sure why this happen but I am trying with different kernels and see which is the best combination...
I just installed a new gingerbread ROM and guess what.. Using push, wi-fi all the time, gps, 1h youtube video, sms, video call... The battery never ends!! As I'm writing the battery is still 15%. It's amazing the gingerbread in terms of battery consumption. Obviously, something in the other ROM was not right! Guess I'll stick to this battery a little more time.
Btw, the battery stats are pretty normal, no depressions..
The first 2 weeks of using my note XEU KKA version, the battery life was ho hum, OK but not great. Then all of a sudden it doubled - consistent, really good!
I rooted and flashed LA4. The process worked fine. But now my battery literally sucks really bad - as in immediately after rooting and flashing you can watch it go down down down. Any ideas why?

what kernel are u using... theres a kernel battery comparison thread.. am posting from a mobile so will be diificult to post the address... by the way my note's battery also sucks acter flashing it with abyss kernek and rocket rom ..both latest versions.. can see constant drips while using inyernet or playing games... n 85 per battery is consumed by display as can be seen in battery stts
Try resetting the Battery Stats via cwm. I'm on XXLA4 and Abyssnote its fine for now, but i need to test more.
Sudden battery drain is usually due to:
1. Kernel issues. We all have the same device, and one would expect that all our Notes behave the same way with a specific kernel, but the fact is they don't. Don't ask me why, electronic gods have some funny ways and quirks. So, try using different kernels, and see how they affect your battery life. Flashing them is a piece of cake, just read the instructions carefully.
2. Rogue apps. Stock ROMs are full of crapware that like to reside in the memory and suck up your juice. Try searching XDA Note forums for the list of removable system apps and get rid of those you don't need. That is easily done by using Root Uninstaller or Titanium Backup.
Hope this helps.
I am using dolphin browser battery saver apk. it is very usefull. Especially it is turn off wifi under sleep mode and saving battery.

Hi,
Whether I'm on the latest SlimBean, CM10 or CM9, battery life is always bad for me. I don't have draining apps and when the phone is idle it's not using battery at all. The problem lies within usage, when I'm using my phone, the battery life goes down too fast (when I'm using Whatsapp and Gmail. Especially when you compare it to stock.
I've done a bit of reading and many people suggest the Modem and Kernel files can have a huge impact on battery life.
So, I wonder, what would you guys recommend to increase my battery life during usage?
I've found this thread with modems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870460
(My wish is a fast phone with a ROM that looks nice, like the latest SlimBean, but I appreciate battery life more. However, a rooted Gingerbread stock ROM goes so slow...)
Hi,
Yesterday i rooted my Galaxy Note using the LiveNote ROM.
The ROM itself is very good, very smooth and retaining that Touchwiz look that i love but i have found it have serious effects on my battery life. The battery life is diabolical, only lasting 1 hour and 22 minutes of screen time, half of which i was using wifi. Before the root, my battery was not good anyway, only lasting about 3 hours screentime but this new ROM has pretty much crippled my phone.
What i want to know is this, is there any way of keeping this ROM but vastly improving battery life, say to where i was before at around 3 hours screentime? OR perhaps is there another ROM with decent performance, using the Touchwiz interface and also having good battery life?
The phone is running Jellybean 4.1.2 and i am using Philz.
Regards
James

There is a way:
Start reading the uncountable (and mostly idiotic) threads about bad battery life after flashing a ROM.
Or read threads about battery life when the baterry is older than a year.
If that is too difficult or if you are too lazy then please stay on stock ROM - not only the life of the battery will benefit from it.

I do agree mostly with the previous reply.
Still, Sweet Rom 10.5 has good batery life and performance. Live Note seems to come with c.o.h kernel which has Gpu OC. Unless you have change kernel that may affected batery.

Hello, what is for you the best kernel/governor to get smooth and responsive experience with the best battery life ? Thanks.
Im on jdc team aosp rom and the battery life plus performance is excellent on the stock kernel settings. You can try bb kernel for this rom too, which has performance benefits and maybe minor degrade in battery life, not noticeable to most users. Ill suggest you use stock kernel on this rom. Note: im also using google play services doze and unified hosts adblock magisk modules. For good battery life, download the app called app opd from play store and from there restrict background activity permission for apps you dint want running in the background and dont want notifications from. Also restrict keep awake permissions.
Ive tried tweaking kernel settings in maby ways in many roms and many kernels. It never gives any better battery life, rather affects performance badly. Dude you bought a snapdragon 820 phone. Dont worry so much about battery and enjoy your life. Use my suggestions in first paragraph and youll be fine.
