So I'm thinking of buying the P10 and I'm currently a Samsung user and really like its UI, is there a ROM or a theme bringing the Samsung Expereince to the P10? By the way, because I'm not 100% sure that I am going to buy it, would you recommend this, the Galaxy S7, the LG G6 or the Honor 9? The P10, the Honor 9 and the S7 cost about 410€ here and the G6 is a bit cheaper at 395€

Hey,
my LG G3 broke down a few days ago and so i need a new phone...
I want to stay below 500 €/$, so i thought about buying a Huawei P9 or a Honor 8 to replace my G3.
Would you still recommend buying the P9 in 2017 or would you - as long term users - advise to spend extra 200 bucks on the P10 (or perhaps save 50 bucks and go with the Honor 8?)
Thank you...
IMO not worth to pay 200 bucks more.
go for one plus 3t ..far better choice (in my opinion)
go for oneplus 3 or 3t if u can but don't go for huawei but if you really want huawei take p9 there isn't much difference between them
One plus 3 / 3T is definitely going to have better software support especially with updates.
what do you think?
The UI and overall performance is much better on Huawei devices. Samsung is laggy still on the Note 8.
this comparison between mate 10 and Samsung galaxy s8+
Fun little story. I lacked the money for the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei doesn't offer credit lines/monthly payments.
Samsung does, however. I bought a friend's Note 5 for $100 and used it for the $300 trade in credit with Samsung. Used the monthly payment option and got a Galaxy S8+ for $500 ($20 a month) plus a free wireless fast charger. Sold both on Swappa to fund my eventual Huawei Mate 10.
Hello Everybody
I have LG G6 currently but i am still looking to jumpship to Honor 9 Lite for Huawei's great software support and 9 Lite price.
LG is hardly supporting G6 these days and i am still waiting for the Oreo update, but i hope i can get it within few weeks.
I started this thread to better understand Honor 9 Lite before plunging in it.
How many major Android updates it can get ?
Does EMUI 8.0 offers all Oreo features ?
Doesn't have face unlock and protected notifications ?
I cannot understand why Huawei even released the Honor 9 Lite...
Go and buy the Honor 7X which is equivalent to the 9 Lite only in ways even better. Bigger screen and larger battery for the same price.
Why would anyone even consider buying the Honor 9 Lite over the 7X??

Well I paid for my Honor 7X €216 inclusive of delivery, making it just €16 more.
For a larger screen and bigger battery I think that's more bang for your buck.
Seriously, they are both almost identical and the release of the new Honor 9 is a waste...

because it's smaller and cheaper? I don't understand why would anyone buy 7X over 9, in Europe difference between them it's like 20-30EUR, only benefit of 7X it's nicer design with smaller bezels
4GB version has got and NFC which defers it from 7X.
Well... I got 3GB/32GB version ( LLD-AL10).
I do own an Huawei 9 lite so Honor 9 lite was a Birthday present which I bought for myself.
Compares to H9lite it has got a bigger screen in almost the same body, Apptwin and VoLTE.
The main reason to buy was an astonishing blue/mirror design. Phone looks great.
Until You touch it ... mirror-glass back is 'collecting' fingerprints better than New York police.

The Honor 9 Lite ships with Oreo, it has NFC to support digital payments, it has quad lens cameras, 2 in front and back and supports USB on the go. I can't tell from any of the phone spec sites whether it supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi.
up Only 2.4 GHz

These are my exact reasons for buying the 9 Lite, 4 things that the 7X really should have for the extra price. I was at the launch for the 7X and hands on the 9 Lite isn't that much different.
I live in India and I'm thinking about getting a new phone. I have two options mostly, buy the OnePlus 8/8 Pro or get a used Note 10 Plus. What should I do? I will get the Exynos version of Note 10. I currently own a Galaxy S10.
oneplus 8 pro is the best android out there for now. saying this cause IMHO (as close to) stock android or oxygenOS is much better than OneUI and will ever be.
I am a Samsung fanboy, so I say get the note 10 as long as you can get one with a snapdragon processor.
dude I'm a s10+ user indian variant imo u should just buy op8 pro coz exynos is the ****tiest flagship processor u can get never buy Samsung flagship in india my biggest regret

Nothing against India at all, but you guys do tend to get ****ty Samsung hardware. ?
Go for the OP 8. I regret getting it. Battery life is...well, it's absolute crap on the S10 Exynos variant.
Keep in mind I'm comparing it to my Pixel 2 XL. The physical difference is only 100mAh less on the S10 but it feels like there's a lemon from your science project barely holding on to dear life in there.

yea bro Samsung is just milking Indians I'm thinking of switching to op8 or op8 pro if i get a good deal for this s10+
You either love Samsung or you hate it i guess ? the oneplus in specs wins it against the Samsung. I still would go for the Samsung. I love the updates they provide the last 2 years. And really happy with all the other stuff. Galaxy buds/galaxy watch. ect
It always amazes me when people want comparison of 2 or more phones nobody mentions the physical dimensions.
I went with S10 because I got the biggest real estate/ screen for the most compact size and still be able to use it one-handed.
Hi, I am new here and need some advise.
I am choosing between Huawei P30 PRO (2020) and Samsung s20 FE (snapdragon). Key features of importance are camera, battery life, screen quality and performance. I am really having troubles with choosing between the two handsets.
Would someone share their opinion, especially if the choice was similar to mine or based on your experience of a specific handset over time.
Many thanks
I think Huawei is finished giving android updates to it's phones, heard they're moving to their in-house OS that has android app compatibility. at the moment you can side load play store (can't remember if the P30 was before the ban and ships with PS), in the future who knows. I'd take a look at each phones sub reddit before spending any cash. neither is perfect. some have been unlucky with screen issues, many have had none at all on their FE. I have them myself.
if you plan to keep the phone a while that should be a factor in your choice. very slow custom rom and mod development on the FE, Huawei is bound to be livelier.
I have both these phones and they are both great. I got the P30 Pro New Edition when it came out last year. It's still fast and has great battery life and the cameras are very good. Huawei are still updating it with security patches (quarterly I think) and it got EMUI 11 about 3 months ago. But EMUI 11 is still based on Android 10 and don't expect the Android version to be updated even if the EMUI version does. Also coming later in the year is the update to Harmony OS which may (or maybe not) remove all Play Store access. Personally I'm looking forward to Harmony OS as it will be nice to be running something different and I also own the...
S20 FE 5G. This is also a good device with decent cameras and battery life. It feels less premium in the hand compared to the P30 Pro but that's because it is a less premium device! It has a plastic back and a flat screen compared to glass back and curved screen on the P30 Pro - some may well prefer both of these differences on the S20FE. Updates are more frequent on the Samsung - monthly - and they have committed to it being updated for another couple of Android versions. Personally I would lean towards the S20FE because of the long term support on both devices, the P30 Pro may well be OK but we can't be sure what will happen in a couple of years.
I own both because I use the desktop mode on both phones and, if your bothered, DeX (Samsung) is slightly better than Easy Projection (Huawei) but both do a decent job if you are interested.
