Which rr should I get? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hi, I've seen so many RR roms on 3t. But which one should I use as daily. I'm now using aospa but im little bored by it so I wanna try something else, I already tried Zenix one but it wasn't that smooth as aospa is. I also looking for battery friendly one (around 6h sot).

Official with airplane mode enabled a few times a day.

I've been using https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...jul-10-unofficial-resurrection-remix-t3634278 and I love it... I've tried them all... But nothing as buttery smooth as his imo

frustration with my crappy

I have it rooted with gingerbread 2.3.5 and i am not pleased.
my phone was slow. like making me mad slow. Its like my phone only wants to be fast a couple. I had launcher pro , go sms and go key board. But then i uninstalled all except launcher pro and removed all my widgets. and its a little faster but its still really sluggish. also my battery seems like it goes down pretty fast.
Should i download a new rom ? Im thinking of getting a new phone also. i was thinking about an iphone but not sure .
Wich 2.3.5 and kernel?
I have Jvs
Well I can't offer any help on a I9000 rom. Haven't been on one of them for a while. I would recommend you trying a native rom. But Have you tried reflashing that same rom you are on?
is it stock or the custom rom? I am running S_Bamboo rom based on JVT and talon kernel...its really really smooth, fast and decent battery....
Im on apex , and i have tried reflashing . Im going to try a different kernel
My captivate was running extremely slowly (almost unusable) when I was running Mosaic VII. It was so bad that I almost dished out ~$600 for a new phone (contract wasn't up yet). As a last effort, I decided to try out CyanogenMod 7. To my amazement, my captivate is suddenly extraordinarily fast and ridiculously usable! The data connection is actually fast (used to take about 7 minutes to update Pulse (news reader), and now it completes in under 4 seconds), GPS is still meh but better than previously, and the phone interface is very snappy.
If you haven't tried it yet, I would highly recommend CyanogenMod to see if that solves your issues. It saved me a buttload of money since now I don't need a new phone until my contract is up!

how is your battery life though? I personally have had the best luck with pinnacle.
CM and miui had awful battery, and i would often have to turn off and on the data (at least once a day).
this also was when i was using nightlies (maybe a month before the stable release came out) is there any difference in the rom now? Should i give it a shot again?

Battery life has gotten way better since then. Also it's faster and the new features are great

CM7 has been great for speed and battery life for me. Absolutely astonishing. I don't even care about the SGSII anymore.
PS If you try it, I suggest doing a complete restore, i.e. not using Titanium Backup as it seemed to slow things down for me.

Going to give it a shot when I get home.
I'm optimistic, but I really can't see how it can even come close to a kh3 ROM.
If I just leave my phone in standby, after 10 hours, it might only go down to 85-90 percent. Last time I tried cm, it would go down 5% an hour.
The last nightly I remember flashing was around build 100 or so. Have they fixed the proprietary driver issue that causes the bad battery life?
Should I go with glitch kernal? Or stick with stock? And what glitch should I go with if I do use glitch?
Fingers crossed that it works better this time!

My battery life is actually extremely better than it was with Mosaic (and previous ROMs). After a day (from 8 AM to 11 PM) of pretty heavy use (reading emails, Pulse news, non-stop texting, and web surfing), my battery is probably between 10-20% left. Obviously thats not a lot (definitely requires a charge every night), but compared to my 8 AM - 5 PM (completely dead) battery life previously, it is a substantial increase. I have found that it drops from 100% to 60% pretty damn quickly, but then hovers in the 50-60% range for a long time (playing a 3D game for 30 minutes made it drop from 90% to 75%, but on a different day, the same 3D game for 30 minutes went from 66% to 65%).
I would definitely give it a shot again. I wouldn't do a backup and restore of your apps though....I'd reinstall each one again manually (you can restore the data to some apps if you want). Also, clear all caches and battery stats. Don't freak out if your battery dies to ~60% after an hour...it will stay around that percent for almost the entire day.
PS: On standby, this thing is a beast. From 8 PM to 11 AM (on standby completely while i was sleeping), it only lost 1% battery life. I don't use anything like Juice Defender or anything. Data was still enabled.
I've been using Serenity rc4.1, and about to flash rc5. Been fast, stable, and good battery life for me. Light use yielded me 1 day and about 17 hours on a charge. Haven't had any problems with wifi, gps, or really anything else. Good luck.
Well I'm on it right now and I like it better compared to apex. I can tell try hat my battery life is better. Does anyone know the best modem/ kernel that I can get for my phone

I use the stock kernel without any issues, but I've never tried any others. Modems are very geography dependent so it will take some trial and error. I am currently using UGKG3 with great success if you're looking for a starting point, and I've also had great luck with JJJV5, but YMMV.
Well, I'm writing from SGS2 right now, but I do have SGS too (my working phone no.), and I was not satisfied with with any stock (or/and) deoxed ROM I've tried (JVH,JVK,JVP,JVB, JVO,JVQ.....), because even fresh flashed or (and) tuned ROM felt sluggish to me. I've tried even few CM7nightlies, but I've been pushed away by some of it's aspects (it was fast, rock stable, but something around nightly #80, it wasn't mature yet for daily use). After a while on JVQ, I've finally decided to give that crappy chineese piece of **** a go...
Well, now I'm satisfied. MIUI ROM is based on CM7, so it's stable and fast, it can be configured to the bone, and with some gentle touch from MIUI team to the graphic design, it is best compromise between graphically advanced, but slow and unstable Samsung ROM and it's derivates, and superior rock stable and reliable CM7 which lacks any unified user friendly interface for all apps, and some details may not even work at all.
Give it a try

I've been running cyanogen 7 for a bit now and although the battery life isn't stellar it's definitely tolerable.
I would suggest using a design gears Tom or serendipity though. They are the closest to a stock cappuccino experience you're going to find.

So my phone was all the way down to 15% and I had practice, so it was idle for 2 hours and when i looked at it it said it had 25% left. and then it was idle for another 20 min and it said it was 27%.
im just sayin

Can someone recommend a stable rom ?!

Hi Guys,
I tried a lot of roms for the I9000. CM10, MiUI ... etc etc. I love both of them and i really appreciate the smoothness of JB.
However I have a big issue: Random Reboots !.
I constantly get these reboots (twice a day at least). Then I'm forced to unlock my pin and usally my battery indicator goes nuts like from 90% before to 6%..
It drives me mad, because most of the time I don't notice my phone rebooting in my pocket. This time I'm not reachable and my phone is useless to me.
Can someone recommend a more stable ROM ? Should i go back to Samsung Stock ? Oh my I hate lag and old Android OS.

Depends on what you prefer GB, MIUI, CM
I like GB and using Saurom v2, v3 is on the way soon as is really stable and can tweak it
Can't be helped. Even budget grade phones nowadays have duo core CPUs. If you want your phone to be completely smooth, you are stuck with GB. Ficeto Base Roms are pretty stable, but lag features that you would normally find in custom roms (it's called a base rom for a reason). Darky Roms are quite stable too, but it can lag heavily in 3D games during explosion scenes.
You don't have to use GB. I'm on SlimBean 3.1, it's stable, smooth and the performance is great. (Live OC 114, I/0 = Noop, Smooth UI)
Mackay 1.6.3 is fine in regard of smoothness and battery consumption. Try it out

i have successfully rooted my phone tonight (jb 4.1.2 rooted) and was wondering how to get twrp on my phone so i could play with roms. if anyone can help please let me know. i have tried razorhd recovery flasher with no success.
got safestrap 3.11 installed and gonna play with a rom.
Cyanogen Mod is really good and reliable. I had liquid Smooth for a couple months but it kept restarting. I want to try Carbon but I'm having too much fun with CM. CM may be a little more basic but it works. Good luck.

One more thing. Download goo manager. I wouldn't recommend flashing and rebooting from there but it'll definitely give you the most current "popular" ROMs and gapps.

If I didn't touch my phone, I can get around 10-14 hours on the CM rom. If I use it periodically, 8-10hrs. Keep in mind, you can always hybernate specific apps that run in the background using Greenify. Performance is pretty good. I don't get any wierd lags or crazy color flashes on my screen. I haven't tried Carbon but I may switch over in a couple months just to try something new. Overall, CM is a very good product.

[Q] 2 Years later... How happy are you with your 4X?

The title says it all!
I wanted to hear about you guys about how satisfied are you with your Optimus 4x HD ! Say if it matched your initial expectations, long term satisfaction, if you still feel its fresh and not obsolete, how happy are you with LG's support to the phone and if you regret or not having bought it. Oh , and if you feel your battery performance is as good as in the first days !
Bring the debate on !
Hey . I really feel its a better device than it was at the beggining. Everything is more smooth and faster. I prefer official cm sources over p880-dev but the strength goes from those second and there is future. Even if official sources gives fluidity etc i hope p880-dev sources will be fixed from all bugs if it is possible.
I agree. There was a period when Android 4.3 came out until early Android 4.4 (until Demetris got in charge of CM) that I was very desperate and I was thinking of replacing my p880 with something else.
The thing is, now it becomes better and better by the day. Especially with Official CM. It has got to a point that CM11 is smoother and generally better than stock.
Now that we're getting M builds (reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55447963 ) I expect that we can finally have something even more stable and reliable than ever!
I think I could keep using this phone until we stop getting official CM support (or until it breaks )

Oh yeah, battery drain is definitely higher on everything 4.2+
I'm using what my signature says, but I don't mind charging my phone a lot. It usually makes throughout a whole day (barely). Sometimes it doesn't.
I'm not using any special apps for the time being. I used to use Tegra Overclock, but since I stopped using iodak/cyodak, I don't really need it.
If battery is something that you're really concerned about, stay on 4.2. Otherwise, if you're willing to sacrifice some of that in order to get performance, features and the latest version of android, Official CM is worth checking out!
For me it is another time the community is great.
2 years ago, the stock LG was crap, locked bootloader etc...
Now, CM11 is starting to work correctly (i mean, all the bugs are fixed, and we could enjoy a really different experience), OmniRom, and a lot of others.
I'm simply angry LG did not support / open source everything they could after 6 / 8 months. The smartphone is not updated after this time, and some spent hours of hacks to make it supported.
Kudos Demetris, Lauffenstepenwolf, Adam77 and others.

Totally agree with you. The official support of our phone was crap, without the development of our great developers I think I would have ditched this phone long ago. After 1.5 yrs of using the phone, I think custom rom is the major force that keep 4x users, while official JB just drive them away.
I am satisfied, but the device is nearing end of its life cycle for me. I knew if i chose this device, I'd choose good hardware for lackluster official software support, so I hoped for an active devs to bring us latest android builds bugfree, and that's what they did, to everyones delight ;p
Flashed device 1/2 hour after I purchased it. Original LG ROM was awfull. Worked fine on cm10, works even better on the new cm11 snapshot. Thanks @Demetris I'll gonna keep p880 as long as it will work
Gesendet von meinem SM-T520 mit Tapatalk
im no so happy because battery life terrible, gps is terrible, camra like 5 mpx
The battery is really bad, the phone is not as smooth as is should be, APN not very good...
I use it since 2 years, and at the end of the year i will change it !
Probably for a Nexus 5, or Xperia Z1, Moto X (2013) or OnePlus One
But thanks to this amazing community :victory:
Yeah same here, terrible battery, constant lags, touchscreen accuracy issues and a lot of little things that ultimately add up to make for an awful experience all around.
Can't wait for the OnePlus One to get officially released without the need of an invitiation so I can leave this pile of trash and regret behind.
Now to be fair to the devs, ROMs have improved a great deal recently but no piece of software in this world can save this phone.
Only good thing is that you can use it as a hand-warmer in the winter since it always gets so hot.
Apart from battery life, and ultra weak camera, i like the phone...design is good, screen is good, performs well for me.
But battery and camera are MAJOR flaws. i will change this phone as soon as i can.
I have had my Optimus 4X for almost 2 years (will be 2 years at end Oct)
Initial Expectations
Yes it did meet them when I bought the phone. It was fast had an awesome screen removable battery and removable storage.
It has also been brilliant at streaming media to/from compatible devices and plays most types of media files
2 years later does it meet expectations? The phone does what I need it to do but sometimes is a bit frustrating when it wants to pause/freeze so no it is not quite meeting my expectations atm
Long Term Satisfaction
After LG dropped software support and concentrated on their G2 and G3 I'll admit I did feel my device was feeling a little obsolete!! But I have a Galaxy S and S2 running KitKat and will be installing custom ROMs on my LG soon to bring it back up to date and give it a new lease of life
It's quite rugged taking a few drops with little or just bezel chips
Camera - Takes good quality pictures and video
Battery life isn't anywhere near as good - it's been rinsing the battery especially during gaming.
Bad bits
LG support, yes I have had to send it back at LG's expense but the lack of software support doesn't fill me with confidence!!
Camera takes a whilst to get ready to shoot
Phone can warm up a fair bit espec during some games
There have been times I have almost regretted buying it but having a think about it - No I don't regret it
its ****,
- some plastic lost here and there, power button 50% unresponsive, and 60C when watching videos
but i love it. yeah, this thing has a soul
My 4X looks like new after 1,5 years use. Screen have no any scratch but battery life is shorter about 40%. I always carry it in my pocket without any case. I think that was the best choice for this amount of money.
Sent from my LG-P880 using XDA Free mobile app
Yo estoy muy muy contento con el 4x. Uso la rom de Zaiben que es perfecta para mi. Saludos
For me it is still a nice device.
Even battery works like others of my friends.
(but I use profiles either with pure 2G for telephony and battery saving or 3G-only for surfing)
We have newest ROM state and still 4-5 cores are state-of-the-art and only LTE is missing.
Camera ist working OK, but not high-end
and GPS sometimes great and sometimes bit "curious".
Overall , I am still happy and will wait for bigger differences to newest phones in the market until I will switch.
So, lets hope for further support on our custom-side ... :fingers-crossed:
After 2 years still looks like new device, very satisfied, I am playing with ROMs (MoKee, Beanstalk, Vanir, Nameless, ATM on ZAIBEN RC16), for the time 2 years ago on my opinion best buy device!
Looking forward on new Beanstalk ! :victory::fingers-crossed:
It's okay, just that it gets lagging and heats up very fast.
Using Vanir nightlies and battery drains fast. Looks like time for a replacement battery =(

Best rom and kernel for performance (gaming) and battery? And tons of customization?

So I've only tried OOS, Omni and LOS 15.1
I found OOS to be the smoothest but it felt a lot like nougat despite being based on Oreo.
So I tried Omni, but I found it to be laggy and there were random frame drops.
Right now, I'm on LOS 15.1, it's good but I feel it's lacking alot of customization and it isn't as smooth as OOS.
What's a good rom with great performance and battery life? And features like Always on display and vibrate from switching the alert slider?
I'm also willing to try custom kernels.
I've tried Caesium but it caused lag and freeze up issues in Pubg

Don't judge me but I'm still running Sultans. Battery and gaming are great. I have xposed and am using Gravity box and a few other modules for r customization. Couldn't be happier. No vibrate in the slider and always on display. But I can live with that. No lags in pubg and battery is between 4-7 hours depending on usage. I play pubg near a charger so that's a bit different but you get the idea.
Now, if you find a oreo rom that can compete, in interested! I will keep am eye out on this thread.

Flashed Franko Kernel on LOS 15.1 after posting this the other day and pubg definitely runs better now. There's still stuttering issues at times but it's better now.
As for battery I still get around 3-4 hours sot. Nothing special.
Use skydragon + mcd kernel.... No thermal throttling at all.... Can play pubg without any lag
