Rom that makes spay works in sm-n920c???? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys is there any rom that makes spay works for my device sm-n920c model. I know one rom that secure folder works that tgread also says spay works but its not working
So asking that is there any trick to make spay work??? Or any rom that make spay works?? Please help me.

I think samsung pay will not work on any Note 5 that has been rooted. I could be wrong though.

Getting my Note 5 next week so I'm not 100% familiar with its dev world just yet but heavily researching at the moment. I noticed in the [GUIDE] How to Root Note 5 thread under method 1A section 3B, it mentions a fix for keeping Android Pay working. I know that Android pay is likely something different to Samsung pay, but maybe the fix covers both? May be worth a try if not done already.

To Root or Not To Root

Now that I have upgraded from the Note 3 to Note 5, I am hoping that rooting without tripping Knox will be a possibility.
However, I must admit that if it's not possible that for the first time in quite a while, I would be content to not root, because I'm interested in Samsung Pay which relies on Knox.
I am still open to the fact that if there's a way to root and that there is a good, stable ROM in development available, I would be willing to give it a try.
Your thoughts?
I'd still root.
I would still root, just because I like using Tasker and a bunch of stuff in it isn't enabled. I also use Google Wallet anyway, so Knox is a non-issue for me.

I feel the same as you. I've been rooting and romming for the past four years and this is the first time that I've had no desire to root.
I hope they will release the Ping-Pong root soon for the Note 5 as I would like to try out the various payment solutions coming out in the next months.
I didn't care with the S6 Edge as I thought it would have taken ages to find a 'stealth' root, but then... :banghead:

Oh you have a s6 edge ? I figured you were talking about root a note , then again i see youre in Italy so yeah no note for you either ...
I'm a rooter and ex flasholic but this time around I might not due to Samsung Pay. If I end up liking and using it, I won't root my phone but if I don't then I'll root and flash a Rom of choice as usual.

I'm in agreement and have thanked those for responding to my post. I don't post often and respectfully welcome everyone's views and opinions.
If we get root I am all over it, I don't care about tap to pay... Takes me about the same time to pull out my phone and tap it as it does my card so yeah..
benefits of root outweigh the benefit of reaching into a different pocket to make a payment.
not sure yet
I too was an HTC M8 flashoholic, Ive been sober for a week now with the Note 5. I have to say it has been very smooth, even Touchwiz and trouble free as well as blazing fast. I do miss the Viper4Android and Titanium Back up abilities. But this phone needs some time for the developers to create some magic before I will root. There will be an OTA update soon and rooting will lose that ability, not to mention as of now there arent an abundance of ROMS to choose from. Also I have caught up on my sleep from the lack of flashing roms!

Given the fact that I live in Canada and it will probably be 3 years or so before we can use Samsung Pay that makes my decision easier. I tried to stick with unrooted this time around so I can get the "promised" monthly security updates easily. However, Lightflow has that persistent notification if you dont have a rooted phone which is bothering me probably more than it should.

Android Pay - to root or not to root

I was about to root my phone, when I read a saw a thread in Top Forum Discussions regarding Android Pay not working with root.
For me this is a huge problem
One of the reasons I bought this phone, was because of the amazing community behind custom roms.... however;
Android Pay is just way too convenient for someone like me, living in London. I use public transport, and am able to use contactless payments basically anywhere I go.
For me this means I won't root my phone anymore, can't enjoy any great customs anymore, and kind off kills the reason for me even buying this phone. Not that it isn't a great phone, it's just that a lot of different options would've been available for me.
Anyone else in the same boat?
PS: Before stating there are other ways to pay; if you've ever used Android Pay for a week in a city where you can use it ANYWHERE you go, every bar, shop, supermarket, etc. You'd understand the convenience in daily life
EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-magisk-v1-universal-systemless-t3432382
Apparently there is a solution as of today!
Exodus rom passes the safetynet challenge with google, so you can use android pay on there (without root ofc), there are a few others but can't remember which ones, and i'm not flashing a load to find out right now - with your story, same here - contactless is everywhere!
Could you elaborate on that? You have to root the device to be able to flash the rom right?
Don't lose your hope and have a look here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-rootcloak-completely-hide-root-t2574647
Maybe it could be a good solution to face that problem. In my case, in spite of I have rooted my device, after installing that Xposed mod, I can pay with my phone everywhere using my ING Direct bank account without problems.
Sounds great! I'll take a look
I feel your pain @ Pengod I'm in the same boat, this is the first Android device I've own this long without root because of Android pay.....I saw a few options around the inner-webs but nothing seem 100% proof. If there is a 100% way of having root + android pay I'm in......
Unfortunately, it doesn't work on my device.
You can flash a stockish ROM and then unroot and Android Pay will work. I'm using [ROM]OP3Lite 2.2.1.
When you flash the ROM it will be rooted but just unroot using SuperSU and you get the benefit of the ROM
and you can use Android Pay.
Why do you want google to know all o your transaction history?
Whats the different between android pay and a contact-less enabled bank/credit card?
exactly...I really don't see the value in Android Pay when every bank/credit card has contactless/tap payment available. In the time you open the app and setup the payment on your phone, you can also take out your wallet...unless you're a girl and have a huge purse or something
Simply put, I have two pockets, one for my phone, one for my cigarettes. If I can use Android Pay, that's all I need. Without Android Pay I need to bring along wallet/cardholder with my cards.
I don't care if google knows my transaction history, because I'm not naive, they already know everything they want to know about me anyway... if they'd care.
Maybe there's a solution now! Check the new link

Root SM-T817V?

After a few hours of searching, I feel like I already know the answer. I'm just wanting a more of a clarification - as there's no clear answer about this device that I can find, and nothing really updated since October.
Recently got the Verizon version of this tab (work gift) and I don't have VZW, and don't intend on getting them. and therefore don't care about the LTE aspects.
Is there indeed no root specifically for this device?
Would even the permissive kernel (for the 810) for 5.1.1 (current FW on my device anyway) not work?
Or does this all boil down to having a locked bootloader?
I really want to debloat the Verizon nonsense/notifications/activation/etc.
Probably going to be easier to just sell this one, and get a WiFi only version?
TIA!
Have you figured out how to root this because I am wondering the same thing! Google only throws junk results and this topic
I got one from my parents and the android version is 5.1.1. Could we root it?
Add me to the list of people who want a solution.

Sure would be nice. I have a t817v running 7.0 and knox enterprise. So far I've managed to get everything to work on other users than owner except usb debugging. Home and open app buttons work and so does sdcard and camera so far. No sure how I got around knox to update to 7.0 but I did. I'll have it figured out soon. No computer so haven't tried to root or flash stock

Im not sure, but I believe the current root method for the 950U1 does not trip Knox; however Samsung Pay will not work on a rooted device.
If you do trip Knox, no you can NOT get Knox back. You can flash back to stock and uproot, but if Knox gets tripped it's done. It's an actual physical change on the motherboard that can't be reversed with software.
I personally no longer see a reason to riot, but others here disagree. You can disable almost any app you want without root with Package Disabler (although it seems the people with the best battery life and performance didnt disable anything). Ad Hell 2 will disable ads across the device without root. The Samsung Browser already has built in ad blockers. If you want to customize, there's plenty of themes in the Samsung theres store, or go with Substratum for full customization.
If I were you, I would enjoy the stock rooted experience for a while. You just might be surprised.
By the way, I've always been a Nexus/Pixel fan, rooting, custom ROM flashaholic. I unlocked bootloaders on all my devices, even if I didn't root them. So I speak from experience.

I'm debating cause I had/have the pixel. I bought from Google store. I unlocked and rooted installed TWRP but development not what I thought it would be due to the 2 partitions.
I was debating rooting this phone cause that's what I do can't leave things alone I'm experimenting with substratum trying to find what works and not hard to factory reset yhe phone 3 times now due to crashing.
I heard although rooting is available samfail has its issues I don't know if it's true just what I read not personal experience that can't charge the battery past 80% screen glitches sometimes and apps randomly crash. I think I'm gonna leave the phone alone get substratum theme where I like it. And go from there.
I keep a eye out and see if someone figures a way to install TWRP on this model. If magisk works like it does on the pixel on the note and allows apps like Samsung pay work I may do it. Main reason I root is for fully customized ROMS all I really care about is customization
Thank you your info helped allot. My stock benchmark anitutu ranked 5th on the 1 test I did so I'm happy just got to keep the little kid in me away from the phone

Magisk will not allow Samsung Pay to work. It will not work with a rooted device. It is military grade security, which is good thing.

Bought the wrong phone for customization.
Curious also, any suggestions.
Like the creator of this thread I can completely admit to being 100% novice. I started out back with the s3, and bricked my first phone, rooted successfully the 2nd time.... But not by any luck of my own, more like i could not figure out how to install superuser, so all i got was a rom that was already rooted and some how managed to flash it over using CWM. Now, many years later.... and yes, i was out (thank you prison) till this year. I now have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, model number sm-n950u. I have done nothing at all to it, how ever i did download Odin3 3.12.3. I also went to a web page and found platform tools, the adb.exe, which to my knowledge means the Android debugging bridge? either way, I also then downloaded CSC_OYN_N950UOYN1AQIA_CL12185999_QB14995093_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar. Now, like many retards before me (myself included) I can't help but to be curious as to the benefits of rooting my device. Or at some point my gf's s8, though she would probably never trust me. Heck, i do not trust myself either because i am still making payments to att for the phone. But I am curious, where would a beginner begin??? where are some easy tutorials for learning how to use odin, or twrp, or cwm, or anything that would help me start.
Cough OnePlus 5T sir would give you the customization your looking for.
Noticed but not a big deal just got to deal with what I got

Always snapdragon is a step forward, probably nothing notizable for you. In exynos there irs more rom support btw.
Regards.
Snapdragon as Hong Kong variant. Then you do not have to decide between performance or root because you have both

performance all day. i thought that i would miss root, but i really dont. As long as the phone can do 90% of what i want it to do, im good. Losing SPay and SHealth is another fault of root ATM. Until that gets 100% patched and so forth, i wouldnt even touch root right now. I enjoy paying for stuff with my watch waaaaay too much to give that up just for root
Go all in for the snapdragon variant, if you wish to use the custom ROM in the next few years. Based on my own experience, the Snapdragon version always has more support!
Snap is better just go with it.

You are right, you loose some Samsung specific features with root. But there is almost always a fix or at least an alternative. Instead of Samsung Pay I use (fixed) Google Pay. And Samsung Health also works, you only have to spend two minutes to change a value in a single file with a file explorer app. For everything you find tutorials here on XDA. Okay, maybe you have to spend some effort in these things at the beginning, but I think it's worth the root because with root I win much more cool things than I loose. And personally, I can go without Samsung stuff like Knox or Secure Folder.

Personally, I use it for things like TitaniumBackup, debloating and EdXposed (Gravity Box, Xinsta,...). These are enough reasons for me to root.
