You are thinking of LG phones, not Motorola phones. With Motorola phones you have to unlock the bootloader.

Well, the LG G3 isn't really better than my Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx XT1225. You just bought the wrong Quark (Verizon model). Mine has free bootloader unlock.
LG G3 only has Snapdragon 801 vs Quark Snapdragon 805.
Plus, my XT1225 has 64GB internal storage.
Yes, the LG G3 does have laser-focus, rear OIS camera and it was a great phone.
I am an LG fan -- having dealt with LG Nexus 5 for me and my wife, having a couple of LG G2 as backups, and heavily customizing other LG G2 and LG G3 for friends. I even won a free LG G4 in summer of 2015, sold it still new in the box, and bought my third Moto XT1225.
But there are NOT bumped recoveries for LG G4, LG G5, LG G6. Those days are gone. LG does allow bootloader unlock on some variants, but if you bought the Verizon model of any of those, you would be in the same situation you are now. Bootloader LOCKED.
I am keeping track of the LG V30 rumors. A bunch of us have been discussing 2017 phones over in the OTHER Quark forum. Yeah, there's other ROMs, a custom kernel, other goodies over there that even Droid Turbo owners can use, if they unlock their bootloader. But the LG V30 may be the first phone in 3 years to really catch eye.

I bought a verizon samsung Note 3 one year ago and successfully unlocked its bootloader by adb commands .
But Motorola phones are totally different .
.
I dont really care as much about bootloader of droid turbo . I do like the stock marshmallow . Even tried the updated moto camera but the result was same as stock camera . I can still delete bloatware and do some fun by temprooting it with autoinintroot
.
Hopefully , Motorola will release nougat update for this beast :fingers-crossed:

Well, we were discussing LG phones. Specifically the NEWER LG phones -- like LG G4, LG G5, LG G6. I said if you bought Verizon models of those newer LG phones you would be out of luck, because "bumped recovery" (this topic) only applies to LG phones, and even then only to OLDER LG phones.
You were lucky there was an exploit for Verizon Note 3. Discovered by the one of the same guys on the Sunshine team, before they went to the paid app model. This guy below recompiled it, but still credited the original dev:
[Official] Note 3 Verizon Bootloader Unlock
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...cial-note-3-verizon-bootloader-t3359370/page1
Note 3 is a much older device, from 2013 -- with only Snapdragon 800, 1080p resolution. Even the early 2014 LG G3 had Snapdragon 801 with 1440p resolution. Whereas our late 2014 Quarks have Snapdragon 805 and 1440p resolution.
Sunshine started the paid app model because people pledged bounties for bootloader unlock, but then weren't paying up. Some people were pledging evenhundred of dollars on a hot new phone -- then months later when bootloader unlock came, they had convenient amnesia or had moved on to other phones.
Here was the one of the bootloader unlock bounty threads in this forum:
[BOUNTY] - Unlock our Bootloader / Root the Turbo!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/bounty-unlock-bootloader-root-turbo-t2927958
Go read some of those posts and laugh. There were other threads started also, but that was the main one. Some people pledged $100, even $125 for this phone. Well, guess what, it's only $25. It's a bargain!
But it took a year of effort and bricked Droid Turbos for Sunshine team to unlock the bootloader for the Droid Turbo. So, for people who take really want bootloader unlock for Droid Turbo, well it's $25. If you don't want to pay, buy another Quark like the XT1250 or XT1225 that doesn't need Sunshine to unlock the bootloader.
Research the phone before you buy and there's no complaints. This phone has been out since late 2014, and all the facts about it (like locked bootloader and needing paid Sunshine) are well-known. Personally, I won't buy a phone I can't root and install custom recovery, and I will research first before buying If root/custom recovery method (in this case, bootloader unlock) costs $25, I would factor that into the purchase decision. (But I don't buy Verizon phones, so I've never had to pay.)
____
No, Motorola isn't giving Quark official Motorola Nougat update. The list of Motorola phones getting Nougat has long been published.
Motorola didn't even give ALL the Quarks official Marshmallow (XT1250 was left off), so they sure aren't giving us Nougat. But there's half a dozen Nougat custom ROMs available, thanks to XDA devs:

Gladly paid the 25 bucks... It made me feel like I had a new phone (even though it's a back up phone). I feel that my Verizon lg g6 will not get root

LG has carrier unlocked LG G6 variants which qualify for bootloader unlock code. The U.S. unlocked version would work on Verizon.

[Q] Buying this phone in Europe
Hi guys, I really want to buy the Moto X, but here in Germany the price for a bamboo one with 32GB ist a whopping 600€. And buying the Moto X for 600€, whereas my Nexus 5 costs 250€ less? Yeah no. In addition, the Nexus 6 will probably be cheaper as well, so I just cant justify spending that much money on the Moto X. Does anyone know, where I could get it cheaper (import etc.)? I mean, if I converted the USD price in euros it would cost 450€. Would really appreciate any suggestions

Does anybody know already - is the unbranded european version of moto x (uk, de, fr..) identical to the pure version? I mean does it have the unlockable bootloader?

Motorola makes amazing phones but on the other hand it' s full of dirty tricks that annoy its customers. Remember that previous version was different for unlocked USA model, European and even Asian model. Does anybody has already new Eropean Moto X and can confirm that it is XT1095 and not 1094 or 1093 model?

Of what dirty tricks do you speak?
Well, it's a long history of them. Browse Motorola forums. Motorola is far to servile to the operators to the detriement of its own customers. Never truely analyzed whether such a policy pays off. I personally believe that their phones could sell better. It's not normal to not reveil significant parts of specifications for different models, weird mess with lte bands, blocked tethering, voip.. And those are only last issues.
[Q] Moto G and T-mobil?
I know there are various generations and versions of the Moto G. Do any work well with T-mobil?
yea the moto g model #xt1064 works with T-mobiles Hspa+ bands you can get one from best buy
XT1064 here running unlocked on T-Mobile without issues. Picked it up at Sears for $133 last night. $2.60 unlock code on eBay.
Well its goodbye from ME - slowing down but not stopping totally
Today I sold both my XT1068's as I acquired my partners XT1072 (moto g 2nd gen 4g lte) so I will no longer be as active on this forum, and tbh I'm not feeling as much love for the xt1072 as I did the xt1068's - the phone is only being used as a contact phone for my daughters school (disabled) so I wont be modding this one. I am considering a LG G3 (having owned a LG G2 before) as I can get it for £169.99 with staff discount. anyway all the best and I will try to support what I can - just won't have a phone to test it on...
120$ Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo - Questions about it
Ok So I am planning to purchase a Droid Turbo but I want to ask some questions before I buy it I heard that the battery is not so good even with it's 3900mah battery size, Did it become better on Lollipop or Marshmallow? The camera takes slow pictures on Kitkat...Did that improve on Lollipop or Marshmallow? The seller says it's GSM Unlocked,Does that mean I can get LTE data or only 2G/3G? ( I live in Jordan if that helps ) Is it good for the price range or there is a better phone out there for the same price?

( I live in Jordan if that helps ) Is it good for the price range or there is a better phone out there for the same price? Click to expand... Click to collapse The Droid Turbo is the XT1254. Comes in 32GB and 64GB varieties. For that price, I'm assuming it's the 32GB version. It's a Motorola Quark. Verizon carrier in U.S. called theirs the "Droid Turbo". There are sibling models with the exact same specs --- just like an LG "G4" sold in England is still the same LG G4 sold in Brazil. Might have different radio bands, but is STILL the same "LG G4" -- same hardware, same specs, etc. For some reason Verizon wanted to claim "exclusive" when really they had none. XT1254 Droid Turbo/XT1225 Moto Turbo/XT1225 "international" Moto Maxx/XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx is all the same phone. The XT1225 has different radio bands, but the XT1250 even has the same radio bands and same FCC ID as the XT1254 Droid Turbo. Other carriers/other countries called it the Moto Maxx. In India Motorola called it Moto Turbo because there was a carrier called "Max or "Maxx" and Motorola didn't want people to think that carrier was affiliated with this device. Verizon sold the U.S Moto Maxx XT1250 but called theirs a "Droid Turbo". The only thing "exclusive" about the Droid Turbo is the locked-down bootloader. XT1225 comes in 64GB only, XT1250 comes in 32GB only. XT1254 comes in 32GB/64GB. The XT1225 has no CDMA bands but extra HSPA and LTE bands. Both the XT1254 Droid Turbo and XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx have CDMA bands which you probably don't need. The are all GSM unlocked. I have no idea what HSPA bands Jordan uses, but Wikipedia says Zain and Orange both use LTE band 3. All the Quarks have LTE band 3. If you care about development, see if the the XT1254 bootloader is already unlocked. On the Droid Turbo XT1254 it can only be unlocked if it's on Verizon SUTL-44 firmware via $25 Sunshine exploit. If it's already on SUTL-49 and still locked, you are out of luck. The other Quarks have easily unlocked bootloaders via Motorola. _______ The XT1225 and XT1254/XT1250 all share LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 7. The XT1225 additionally has LTE band 5 and 17 (more bands used by AT&T). ___________________ FCC ID IHDT56PK2 { "lightbox_close": "Close", "lightbox_next": "Next", "lightbox_previous": "Previous", "lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Thanks for your detailed explanation But you didn't answer my questions How is the battery life on lollipop or marshmallow And how is the camera capture speed?
Sparksys said: Thanks for your detailed explanation But you didn't answer my questions How is the battery life on lollipop or marshmallow And how is the camera capture speed? Click to expand... Click to collapse I answered the questions I wanted to answer, about your bands. Zain and Orange use LTE band 3. That's the only carriers I can find in Jordan. All the Quarks have LTE band 3. MY camera speed on my XT1225 is fine. If you use HDR, you will have slower shutter speed but better pictures. If you turn that off you will have faster shutter speed. You're not going to get Marshmallow right now if your bootloader is not unlocked. The XT1225 has received official Marshmallow but the Droid Turbo XT1254 has not. There ARE Marshmallow custom ROMs available but you cannot flash them with a locked bootloader. That's why it's important you check what firmware that Droid Turbo has. SUTL-44 or lower, you are OK. SUTL-49, out of luck -- unless the bootloader was already unlocked before flashing SUTL-49. Other people can answer the other questions. I own three Quarks, so obviously I think they are great phones. I even sold a FREE LG G4 I won last year and bought a third XT1225 (for backup). Never used the LG G4 because my XT1225 was much better, in my opinion. My wife has one also. And my XT1225 are the 64GB models with more LTE bands/more HSPA bands -- so more expensive than 32GB Droid Turbo variant.
Omg You are extremely helpful! Thanks!! One more thing I read that you have sold your G4 to get the droid turbo Does that mean the droid turbo is much better than the G4?

Click to expand... Click to collapse It's very close. The G4 has 5.5" 1440p LCD, the Quark has 5.2" AMOLED. BETTER display, and I actually like the slightly smaller form. Others may like the larger display, even if the AMOLED is better. G4 had Snapdragon 808, Quark has the Snapdragon 805, but I'm not sure you would see a real world difference. Both have 3GB RAM. Quark has built in Qi wireless. You have to buy a replacement back cover (about $12)to enable that in G4 (at least in the US). I actually did that before I sold it, to make it worth more. The Quark has turbo charging (Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0), and so does the LG G4. Quark has the Moto IR sensors. Moto Display. G4 doesn't have that, although it does have some IR sensors. G4 has an advantage in microSD card expansion port. But I have 64GB internal storage on my XT1225. Still I'll give the G4 that point. If you are buying a 32GB version, keep that in mind. The G4 has rear camera OIS, with laser focus. Quark does not. Another point for the G4. However, my wife is Brazilian and we went to visit last year -- where we could easily use our XT1225. The Quark has all of Brazil's LTE bands (3,7) as well as all of AT&T LTE bands (2,4,5,17). That tipped the Quark into being better for me. Others may see the G4 as being better. If the XT1225 didn't exist, the LG G4 would be the phone I would have. Or the new ZTE AXON 7.

You've already been given a lot of good info and I won't repeat that. But whoever told you the battery life isn't good is deluded. The battery life of the Droid Turbo is excellent on the current OS (Lollipop). If it ever gets Marshmallow, the battery life will probably be even better. But it's one of the best phones available in terms of battery life, and for the price point on the used market, it's probably THE best phone in terms of battery life.
Android One branding on Amazon XT1900-1?
I'm looking to buy an X4, but I am intent on avoiding the Prime Edition or any other model which will give me problems unlocking the bootloader. If an XT1900-1 says Android One on the back, can I be confident that it is unlockable? Did the Amazon Prime models come with this branding? Are there any other things I should look out for and avoid? Gonna throw up some prayers this morning for a utopia where all phones have fastboot unlockable bootloaders from the factory and I don't have to worry about this bull****.
