Well guys I ****ed up. Got carried away and made full wipe and then, with no system, formatted data. So I've just got twrp right now :crying::silly: and no computer to sideload or fastboot anything.
Anybody knows if it is possible to transfer stuff from ipad to android phone through OTG? Or any other way to put back system with twrp without computer? I guess not but well it's worth a try since I will not have computer access in about a month...
Maybe through usb OTG from another android? I got my nexus 5 with me...

Yeah I assumed so.
I figure I can try putting files on a pendrive from the nexus via otg and sideloading to the mix on twrp with otg too... I guess theoretically should work?

1 day you're going to break that phone for good. Like I did with mi note pro. Should work, no other computer you can use,
No fastboot with iPad either?

Yeah I am afraid if I don't back down I will fry it soon :silly:
No possible cable connection to ipad as Papps said, no. But I hope I can put files on a pendrive (with the nexus5) and then flash them on the Mix
Will try soon and then leave Mix alone for a while (I hope)...

Sure, pendrive is an option. If it has not type c connector you need an adapter and you could mount it within twrp. Twrp you could flash for example with flashify.

That was the idea but until I connected pendrive to nexus via OTG to upload files I didn't realize: it had to be formatted as portable storage by the nexus. The Mix in twrp then does not recognize it and cannot mount... Well it was a good try.
I'll keep investigating cause giving up easily is not in me but it looks like I'll just have to wait
Thanks Papps

Send a Mi Mix rom in your Nexus, go to twrp(or any of them which is installed, or even it's installed?!?) Twrp probably will recognise it without formatting, send it to your pendrive and plug it into your Mix.

Thanks!
I manage to put files into the usb on nexus' twrp, but then the mix does not recognize it. No way to mount it, to select usb otg or to see the files that are there in the avdanced/file manager...
They are not Mix's rom files but they are zips, I don't think that can make a difference...
Ah, using a pendrive that didn't need to be and wasn't formatted... Used it in nexus twrp no problem but in mix is like if it wasn't connected
I made it
It was my first idea but I was doing it the wrong way. Connected directly Mix (with its charging cable) to Nexus's OTG usb. And it works as an external compatible storage
Downloading all kinds of zips now in an awfully slow wifi :silly:

Hello. So I just bought an OTG cable. It's pretty cool. Now, I have an ubuntu external usb drive and it gave me an idea... Is there a way to boot into Ubuntu via usb? This way you could keep both os's and not have to erase anything... Well I searched for awhile and found a tool called multirom... It almost sounds like the answer, but I'm not sure... Is it? Is it even possible to boot from a usb on android?

Why are you wiping internal? That's absolutely not necessary at all. Just don't wipe internal and you won't have to do so much extra.
OTG cable is not work in twrp. You need dual micro USB stick like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SANDISK-3...CK-PHONE-MICRO-USB-MEMORY-STICK-/121405219902

Correct. Even wiping system isn't entirely necessary. So store your ROM on internal and save yourself the trouble. :good:

It depends what you're flashing. If it is a new one or a significantly changed from the previous one, you may have to wipe data but that still doesn't mean you wipe sdcard.

What FS is on the Stick Maybe you have a kernel to support formats that TWRP doesn't support? Should use FAT32. And as mentioned earlier, boot TWRP with OTG connected
I'm recently experiencing this issue myself. It came out of nowhere, as from the day I got it til maybe a month ago it was working perfectly fine. Upgraded to a newer version of TWRP, tried two usb sticks with OTG connectors using FAT32 and NTFS. Nothing is working.

What does adb devices say?
Sent from my Nexus 6 running cyosp using Tapatalk
Does it happen on all computers? What chargers are you using for the device?
Used any car chargers? Does usb OTG work? Do any other devices work with the computers?
Does it still charge?
I broke my nexus 7 with a car charger, pc could not see it because the device was sending charge to any thing connected to it. it wouldnt even charge any more unless turned off. Its scrap basically now . I do not know if nexus 6 can have this problem.

Any way I just boot looped the system by trying to flash a new boot.mg via flash fire.

Hi XDA users i really need some help!!
my buddy is into rooting androids and doing all kinds of stuff to them. i bought a nexus 6 and he rooted it added cyanogenmod and twrp recovery.
I soon upgraded my phone and let my cousin use my nexus 6 cause he lost his phone.
when he gave it back I wanted to erase everything and sign back in to my account so i went into twrp recovery and by accident instead of factory reset i formatted the phone which erased everything. so now it doesn't have anything in the internal storage of the phone.
it is now stuck on twrp if i boot it all i see is the google startup screen and it stays there.
my laptop wont recognize the phone so i cant add cyanogenmod ROM and I bought
did i ruin this phone? anyone encountered this before?
i will ad pictures tonight
Get it hooked up to a computer (update drivers on your laptop if needed), get a flashable ROM onto your phone's storage, and flash in TWRP
Just use a otg cable to hook up usb stick to the phone and use that to install the rom
Preferably, download a fresh stock ROM from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu
Then either get the drivers to work properly on your laptop or hook your phone up to another computer and transfer it over to flash. Shouldn't have anything to worry about
I do this all the time. You just wiped the OS and internals and only have TWRP. I do this when I want to complete clear my phone. You can either use an OTG stick or fastboot to flash a new ROM.
No one else here has mentioned this, but you can also use fastboot to adb push a ROM zip into your internal SD card if you do not have an OTG stick.

you can't use fastboot to flash any ROM but the factory image, and you can NOT use fastboot to adb push anything. you can only use adb to adb push stuff. and you dont need to use anything to move a rom into storage using twrp. and I do this every time I want to flash clean.
Yea, not too big of an issue really. Boot into TWRP and like the others said, transfer a ROM and gapps to the phone and just flash those, or alternatively, you can use fastboot to flash a stock image, if you want to go that route and need help with that, pm me and I'll run you through it! We all gotta learn these simple steps right? let me know!

Boot into TWRP and then plug into your PC, it should recognize it and let you move files.
thank you everyone for replying!! so pretty much this is what i have tried.
i connected it to three different laptops and none pick up the phone while i am in twrp recovery.
i bought a 64gb 3.0 sandisk OTG stick and put the ROM in their and the phone is not recognizing the external drive.
how do i update the drivers? maybe thats it.
am i using the wrong OTG stick?
Easiest way that's totally fool proof, download the nexus root toolkit from wugfresh.com and click the option to install drivers, then click "step 3" and it will install it for you without getting the full android SDK.

I have this: http://www.amazon.com/LIFETIME-WARRANTY-Electronics-Micro-Cable/dp/B005GGBYJ4
It's basically a microUSB connector to USB. You can connect thumb drives, keyboards, mouses, etc..................I always keep a copy of TWRP and a ROM (dosen't matter what, I keep Pure Nexus) on it at all times. I've had to flash TWRP from my back up once b/c a CM based ROM corrupted TWRP.
What i noticed is that if i am already booted into twrp and then hook up my stick it isnt recognized either. But when i boot into twrp with the stick already hooked up its recognized.

Yeah same here. You either need to plug in first to get the phone to recognize it then go into twrp. If it doesn't then do a soft reboot to the rom then reboot into twrp agaib
So, I tried to update to Pie.
I was on Stock Oreo rooted without encryption.
Wiped everything except sdcard, installed Pie and the boot img for encryption fix.
Rebooted to TWRP, flashed the zip from verity fix, flashed latest Magisk.
Rebooted to system, stuck with the dots rotating.
Tried to redo it again, adding the step for the firmware flash.
But when wiping i accidentally wiped sdcard too, so I have no more the required files inside TWRP.
Tried to connect both TWRP and bootloader via adb/fastboot but phone is not recognized.
All the drivers are installed it always worked before (Win7).
Now everytime I try to connect the 3T to PC it says Unknown Device in Device Manager, but all the drivers are installed.
Apparently the phone is not sending its data, because in device properties i see VID & PID = 0000.
Trying to manually attach a driver to it (with right click, update driver) gives error, no driver available for the device (using any adb drivers .inf).
So basically now I'm stuck with a phone without files in it, but with only TWRP working.
How can I send the rom files without adb/fastboot? Any trick?
I also tried to use USB OTG from TWRP but apparently any usb stick is not recognized.
Tried different USB ports and different cables. Seems like a problem with the phone usbC port, not sure.
It's an hard brick at this point?
Just go with the Qualcomm factory restore mode/tools. Turn off phone, hold volume up while connecting phone to PC, install the drivers for the Qualcomm 9008 device and then run the factory recover tool. You can find out all this in the factory restore thread, just make sure you have the 3t and not the normal 3 as they have different firmwares for the hardware.
Skickat från min ONEPLUS A3003 via Tapatalk
Format the device in latest TWRP and reboot it back to TWRP then connect the USB cable to PC. It should ideally recognize your 3t. I never had any issue while recognizing the phone in TWRP menu.
if nothing helps, the final step is obviously try he Qualcomm factory restore mode/tools.

I already tried that too. It always appear as unknown device, even with that method.
Just to be clear, I never had problem before and I already used TWRP mount and fastboot/adb to load files without having a running ROM. I was always able to move file with any of them.
This is different, it seems like an hw problem, the phone it's not sending his IDs when connecting to CP so the PC can't identify what it is even if drivers are installed.
Now, I'm not sure if the problem lies in the physical USBC port or if the failed Pie upgrade ruined somethin in the bootloader or something else.
Then I'd say broken USB cable, have you tried with another cable or a shorter cable?

Tried many cables, ports and PCs.
I also tried to clean the port with a wooden stick without luck.
At this point i believe it's the usbC port or the motherboard.
I think something at the USB MTP level went faulty, because charge works fine (dash charge too).
I just can't transfer files anymore. Not even with an OTG dongle.
Since there is no other way to trasnfer the ROM zip (network is not available inside TWRP) I requested an RMA and tomorrow OnePlus send a carrier to pick it up for repair.
I have not still updated the device. I am on custom ROM. After reading your problem I am scared to install it on my device.
I think it is better to go to stock completely with locked bootloader with 5.0.8 and then accept update. After that, I can unlock the bootloader and root the device.
i just recently had this problem dude, not even 20 mins ago, find and use a diffrent usb cable/port or if u have a usb hub use that along with ur new cable, it finally worked after hours of countless tries

Don't worry, if the USB port is working you can always recover. Just be sure your PC recognize the device first, in case anything happens.

Nah its not the cable or drivers, I test roms every 1/2 months and always been fine with uploading files with adb, fastboot or MTP. Nothing changed. Must be some hardware issue.
Oneplus already sent me the shipment code and i'm waiting for UPS to pick up the package today.
