It survived my phone 4 to 5 times

Bought it...Waiting now ..I have spigen case..will compare and tell here is it worth 1/4th the price of original(spigen can be bought close to 800 INR)???

I thought to myself that the case looks familiar, and my thought is correct. It's the case I've had for almost as long as I can remember, and while I wouldn't say it withstand a comparative check against a Spigen, it's still a dang nice case. I bought mine off a Chinese website for $9 and I can say it's serviceable.
I've installed it for about four months or so, if memory serves me correct and it has protected the device from countless of falls to wooden floors (don't want to test on a concrete because that'd be a bad idea).
Photos attached, sorry for the horrible lighting of the photos.

I'd rather break my phone than wear a case like that.
I wear thin plastic transparrent (nillkin nature) cases or the original karbon one.
I keep my phone usable and stylish, wearing those big spigin-like cases absolutely destroys the phone's desing any my usability.
I have 1+3 for about 9 months and nothing happened.
but every day i enjoy the thinness and looks of my phone.

carbon fiber "design" isn't carbon fiber

Literal copy and paste of the Spigen, which I'm using as we speak. Its durable I won't doubt that but you need to change the design or something.

[REVIEW] Ringke Slim Case

This case came as a part of my 2nd-hand phone purchase. Although its very nice, I had some issues with it...
Pros:
Very sturdy construction.
Very slim.
The color accents with the phone very well.
Does not obstruct the buttons or any of the ports.
Has raised bezels (for additional protection).
Cons:
HUGE fingerprint magnet!
Very difficult to remove.
Very easily scratched.
The interior looks very nice.
The rear of the case looks fairly nice too. :cyclops:
There's cut-outs for the buttons and ports (which allow for the phone to be fully functional). :highfive:
In conclusion, its a very well fitting, no frills case that provides fairly decent protection. Having used this case for over a week, it fairs well from day-to-day usage. This case hides that fact that you have a high-end smartphone while being sturdy enough to put in and take out of your pants pocket. Is it worth $9.99 from Amazon? Maybe. I however, prefer to see the rear of my phone. :silly:
I have the white version of this case and it's pretty awesome. It's the slimmest case and provide as much coverage as possible. I wish it had a soft-touch finish instead of the smooth finish, but for 10 bucks, it's a great deal.
I couldn't agree more. Its very well constructed.
How slippery is the phone with this case? I have the poetic Atmosphere and I feel like I'm going to drop my phone whenever I take it out of my pocket.
Its actually not very slippery at all (compared to not having a case).
This case gives the phone some edges on its sides and the material grips well on the hand.
Plus, the case has a rubberized feel to it that gives it an added grip.
I have this case and absolutely love it. The best I've ever used on this phone. My only gripe is that dust tends to collect along the top slit between the case and the phone and requires more frequent cleaning than other cases like diztronic.

My Review of the Artech 21 [Vivid Arkansas Series] Ultra Slim Dual Layers Case

Having used the case only for 1 day, this is a well made, protective case. Not too thick, but adds a great layer of protection.
I have a white Galaxy Note 5, and the Mint color case looks excellent with it.
The raised bumper on the front keeps it from causing damage when laying face down.
The ridged design on the back is great for gripping without slipping.
The cut outs for S-Pen, charging and earphone are perfect and the button covers work quite easily.
I am extremely satisfied with this case and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good case at a definitely reasonable price.
In the past I owned another case that was similar in design, but the outer layer cracked soon after. I don't see that happening with this case.
The link to the case on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0130A2VCG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
There are other colors available.
I'll add my review here as well, I agree with all that catman51 had to say about the case. It's a lightweight case that should be good for average protection. It's not heavyweight protection but adequate for light use.
I have no issues using wireless charging with this case as I have with some other ones. I do not like the volume buttons, I would prefer having a space between them but that's personal preference.
A concern of mine is the back, it's not full dual layer. Where the black is, that's the only layer, and in order to keep the case light that rubber material is very thin. I fear with a decent drop the back of the phone might crack. I could be wrong but you know the thought process when you look at something and question it? That's how the back is.
Outside of that, the case is nice, lightweight and looks decent. It does not interfere with my tempered glass screen protector and doesn't really add any bulk to the phone.
My review...
DISCLAIMER: I received the case as a promotion in exchange for an unbiased review.
The case is solid and is a good value, but personally it's not for me. I'm not a big fan of the gold accents. Not to mention, it looks a bit duller in real life than in the seller's pictures.
The case is very slim and doesn't add too much size to the Note 5. With the phone already being large, it's nice to have a case that's not too bulky. The case also adds some nice grip to the phone--the texture on the back is a nice touch as well. Overall, the Artech 21 feels good in your hands.
The hole cut outs were accurate and it was easy to remove and insert my S-Pen. Just note that some chargers are larger than others and you might have an issue plugging yours in. It works perfectly fine with the OEM Samsung Charger, but at the office I have a long LG charging cable at my desk (see picture) and it didn't fit well.
The buttons were a bit on the mushy side--especially the volume keys. I prefer mine with a bit more feel--I like the click feeling that stock and some other cases have. Personal preference.
Anyway, if you are looking for a slim case and you like gold, this is the case for you...

Minimalist case that provides good corner drop protection

I owned a Nokia 8 a couple of years back and one of my favourite things about it was the CC-801 case - a bit like the OnePlus Sandstone case but even more minimalist with exposed sides and just a back and corner protection.
Was never able to find anything similar for my OnePlus 6 so settled on the Sandstone and was generally pretty happy with it.
However, I purchased an OP7T a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised when I came across the following on Amazon UK
OnePlus 7T Case, Ultra Slim Frosted Transparent
It arrived this afternoon and whilst it may not be quite as slim as the CC-801 or the Sandstone, I think I am going to like it a lot.
The sides are not covered but the top and the corners get decent chunky protection - much more than a Sandstone.
The black disc on the back is my own magnetic one...
Got a similar case with black edges. Feels like holding the phone naked. Btw - Where did you get your tempered glass from?
The SP is Omoton glass from Amazon UK. It is 1-2mm too wide. I complained to them and they promised to offer a smaller version in the next few days on Amazon UK.
Where did you get your case - does the back offer great grip?

Update: they have now added a newer slightly narrower version which should no longer have the halo effect.
I have ordered the newer one - and will let you know if they fixed the size issue once I receive it.
I have GESMA from amazon and it looks and feels so good. The buttons also feels nice and are well marked. The corners look like they can survive drops, but will see about that. The rear camera is also nicely protruded by a milimeter
how is the case holding up?
I recommend Caseology Vault. Perfect minimalist case that provides very good protection both front and camera cutout, looks so elegant as well

Hi, I am guessing the question was directed at me.
I did use the case for a few weeks - but I missed the OnePlus Sandstone case that I had used with my previous OP6.
So, when I managed to get hold of a Sandstone case cheap I switched to that.
Still happy with the case and it does provide more protection than the Sandstone - but I had used the Sandstone for so long I just ended up switching back.

I know this thread is dead but for future people looking for a super solid and sexy option for a minimalist 7T case that also is built from some of the strongest material on Earth we have this:
It's a full Kevlar minimalist case. Comes in two color patterns, black and gray twill and this red and black twill. I think the red and black looks amazing. It's obviously not the most protective case but when paired with a shatterproof screen protector such as the rhino shield impact skin, your phone is in good hands. Since it's kevlar, it can take some pretty devastating hits and keep your phone safe. I highly recommend, I have two of them for a backup when my first one gets too ugly from abuse.

May not be compatible with the 7t variant. I don't know this phone's product line specs. One may be released for your phone in the future if this one doesn't work for your model.
The Bolt is the only case I use on my Note 10+.
Thin, easy to hold and it has soaked up repeated falls onto concrete with zero damage.
I use Gorilla IQ Sheild for a screen protector; easy to apply, inexpensive and long lived.
Both have done well keeping my 10+ from harm without spending more than $30*.
*on my 2nd Bolt case because of repeated hard drops. No visible damage to the case but out of an abundance of caution about possible corner fatigue retired the first one. Better safe than sorry.
At $20 a pop it's a no brainer.

Case is still holding up great, very resistant to daily use. Not a flawed resin on the aramid fiber like there is on some brands of carbon/aramid fiber cases

OnePlus 7T case roundup

Since I've bought a few different cases, I thought I'd do a roundup of them.
Nillkin Super Frosted Shield Matte:
Minimal case, but with a slight lip around the glass and camera bump protection. Full 360 degree coverage with tight cutouts and good buttons. A very tight, accurate fit; it won't bounce off if you drop it.
Covered with a bump pattern to make it grippy. Hard plastic that will likely crack on dropping.
For: people wanting to reduce the slipperiness of the phone, make the bump look less dumb, and protect from scratches and light drops.
Spigen Liquid Air:
Light by Spigen's chonky boi standards, this gives protection not far off their Rugged Armour series without the goofy carbon fibre accents. Looks good and fits great. Large protection lip around the screen and sufficient camera cover. Tasteful design. Not as grippy as you'd think, but better than just the phone.
For: serial phone-droppers who don't want to make their giant phone any more gigantic. A good compromise case.
Official "sandstone" bumper case:
More rugged than the Super Frosted Shield, but with openings for the rockers, buttons, and top and bottom.
Extremely grippy texture and a tight fit. Good screen lip protection and camera cover. Aesthetically a bit weird; a bit "HTC Desire era" with the big gaps all around. Tasteful OnePlus logo.
Colour and texture of an asteroid space station wall; really needs to have "REMEMBER THE CANT" spray painted on it.
For: official case fans who don't mind paying twice what it's worth (unless you find it on eBay). Daredevils. People who like to click the proper buttons.
All three are good, but if you spend the RRP on the official case, you should go get your face paint on and get to the circus, because you're a clown.
Good write-up ?. Though I tried a couple of cases - both military types and transparent types - I couldn't find any of them good. I still use the official transparent case that came with the phone. I couldn't find any better than this case.
For military types I hate them because of the thick bumper sides that eliminates the bezel-less nature of the phone. Yes the military types meant for that kinda protection but I don't like those cases. For the transparent ones none of them gives that extra bumper for the screen and back camera glass like the official Twitter m transparent case. All of them were sh*ts.
For my old Lenovo Z2 Plus, there were a vast variety of colored back covers with extra screen and back camera bumper protection. I had more than 20 cases in different types and colors. My MiA1 also has more than 10 different cases. Note that these weren't just cheap quality cases with some printed graphics, these were all in plain solid colors. I don't know why case manufacturers of 7T never make such kind of cases.
Two months ago I was planning to make a custom made plastic-printed case with the help of my friend, he has a 3d printer with him. I even made a 3d model of the phone and case in my PC. But due to the pandemic I had to stop the process. Not sure if I can do the further developments.

I’ve never understood why “military grade” is considered a selling point. Have these people never met someone who was in the military? Everything’s made by the lowest bidder!
I agree with the lack of case options. I don’t think the OnePlus 7T sold all that well or something, it’s disappointing.
I got my 7T used and it came with three official cases. I'll add to your list, if you don't mind.
Karbon Protective Case:
This case is just like the Sandstone in that the buttons, slider and top/bottom are exposed. The feel is interestingly rubbery, but a bit slippery. It is very thin and almost looks like a skin until you look closer. Not that it is that thin, but fits so well. It's so thin it adds nearly no weight. The OnePlus logo is far more pronounced than the Sandstone, and really pops being so silvery-white. It makes me wish the Sandstone had a silver/white logo, it's that good.
Sandstone Protective Case:
Basically everything you said. The grip is incredible and you will be hard-pressed to drop your phone unless you're being careless. An improvement over the 5T Sandstone as the texture is slightly better. My go-to case, really.
Red Silicone Bumper Case:
This thing is pure red. Wow, that red! It is noticeably more bulky than the Karbon and Sandstone. There is no lip for the camera bump because it's bulky enough to clear it. So the back is smooth all the way, no table wobble. The inside of the case is a nice suade. It actually is an awesome premium touch, and you feel good to know your phone is safe from even case scratches, lol. Covers all buttons, makes the slider a bit more difficult to reach (but not too much), and covers all the way around the top and bottom, leaving ample holes for the microphone, charging port and bottom speaker. There is an ample lip all the way around. The feel is similar to the Karbon but more grippy. Softer feeling. The logo is understated and just recessed in the silicone.
All of these cases feel very premium (to me) and the fit is so perfect I think they're worth the investment. Especially if they last as long as my Sandstone from the 5T I used since launch.
Update: I've been using the official Sandstone case as my daily driver for nearly four months now. I've had a bunch of drops from pocket height onto concrete without any damage to the phone, and the case texture hides the dings very well.
Would recommend again.

Otterbox vs UAG

I just got a OnePlus 8T+ 5G today ( T-Mobile ) and need to get a case. For my last two phones, I have used UAG and I have been happy with them. Reading the specs, it seems like Otterbox has testing above and beyond what UAG does (milspec) so I am considering that option too, but the back of the Otterbox cases feels a bit smoother and less grippy than UAG.
Two options I am considering:
Sites-ob_us-Site
OtterBox cases, power, screen protection, and accessories protect and empower your digital world.
www.otterbox.com
Monarch Series Cases | Urban Armor Gear
The UAG Monarch Series protective cases are the most rugged and durable on the market. They offer military drop-test protection for all your Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Motorola, Google, Microsoft, HP, and LG products.
www.urbanarmorgear.com
Only $10 price difference, so that isn't a factor. My main concern is protecting the phone. The UAG seems to provide good protection and feels a bit more grippy than the Otterbox, but I know Otterbox is a known solid design.
Any thoughts on those two?
I have both. I'm kind of a case hoarder, trying to find the perfect case. I drop my phone often because my hands randomly spasm.
Which case is better comes down to 1 question: will you be using anything other than your phone in the case?
The OtterBox + glass screen protector did well. The UAG + screen protector didn't do nearly as well. It broke more often, faster.
If you're sticking anything additional in, like a thin metal plate for sticking to magnetic holders like you put in your car, it will be too thick for either case. I rather like using a lanyard and found this thin pad that sits behind a phone and had a strap coming out the charging hole of your case with a small keychain loop....even that's too thick. The metal sheet or my thin pad causes the screen protector to protrude too far out from the case. 1 drop and they'll break.
Bare phone, either will work very well.
If I had to pick between them protection wise, the OtterBox probably has it.
If you have your heart set on the UAG, I have a better suggestion: get the Poetic Affinity case. It's less than half the price and better IMO than the UAG.

A case very similar to the OtterBox but maybe with BETTER protection is the Spigen Tough Armor. It has these yellow foam pads inside, and is similar to hold. It's technically 2 pieces but in the real world it appears very very similar to OtterBox if not better.

Virtually every single case has the same flaw though: there is a very bad soft spot in the case...every case....over the ring mode selector slider (silent\vibrate\ring). Some cases it's not quite as bad than others. But it's been present on every case I've tried except 2. And those cases fixed the issue by sandwiching the phone in between 2 hard pieces:
One was a heavy as hell all metal case that's a MONSTER in size and weight, and most people will hate, but does an incredible job protecting the phone. And it uses any old 3rd party glass screen protector. Your floor will be dented by falls, not your phone! (this is currently my case).

The other is the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro... an all plastic case that doesn't let you use a glass screen protector, you have to use their built in thin film screen protector that SUCKS and makes the case useless. It doesn't have the so called soft spot. But the lack of glass screen protector kills it for me.
It does come with a not so great belt holster though if anyone wants that.

Only $10 price difference, so that isn't a factor. My main concern is protecting the phone. The UAG seems to provide good protection and feels a bit more grippy than the Otterbox, but I know Otterbox is a known solid design.
Any thoughts on those two?

Over the past 8 year I’ve had 5 otterbox defenders. They all served well. My biggest issue with them is there is always going to be a thin section that always breaks over time. That all truly depends on how much it drops and how hard it drops. Some of them come with their own screen protection which can be convenient but also annoying. They don’t bind to the screen so it can cause unresponsive touches. Otterboxes do come with port covers to protect from dust.
I tried out UAG 2.5 years ago and it outlasted all of my otter boxes. And it’s still going strong. It barely even has a scratch on it. It’s been accidentally ran over by a Ford 150 too lol. Nothing is breaking on it. Nothing is warped. It’s taken harder falls than all my otterboxes and it is still perfectly intact. UAG does not come dust covers. I will point out that the dust covers fall apart and they damage your phone chargers because they always push on them. Dust covers can also damage your ports because it’s pushing your chargers on the side of them. I’ve had 2 charge ports go bad because of that. Newer phones now are waterproof/water resistant so it won’t hurt your phone just to wash the dust out. So to be honest dust covers are not necessary and are more inconvenient now.
My personal preference is a UAG + Zagg screen protector. Zaggs have a lifetime warranty. You buy one and it’s good for the remainder of the phone’s life or if you buy another phone that is compatible to it. Iphone 11 and 12s use the same protector size.
I dropped using otterboxes when I discovered UAGs. They are the toughest phone cases I’ve ever had. I even had Specks that were more durable than my otterboxes. Otterboxes cost more and seem to be a lot less durable from my experience.

I'm currently on a search for a rugged case and came across your post. Are you still using the metal case? If so, do you mind giving us a quick recap of how it's holding up after all these months? and would you recommend it over other cases?
Thanks!
