Is there a Way to make a Offline Wikipedia?
I didnt found just online Wikis but no offline?
Put the Wiki on the SD and open with a App?
Hope someone can help me!
I would imagine that it would take quite a lot of space to put the entire wiki database on an SD card. Hundreds of gigs.
ther eis an app for winmo
that does that....
it has 2 versions, one you buy with no updates
and the other one you buy and have unlimited updates...
the website has a mailing list to be notified when it will eb avail for android...
however i dont remember either the name or the website .... i did sign up for the newsletter though...
There's a handful for ipods and a few hacks for other devices. Basically you need two thing: the static HTML files and an HTML viewer.
There's some static DLs here, I can't grab these at work though. anyone want to test chucking one on their SD and seeing if Astro or Linda will open them in a browser?
If the HTML files are available, or if someone can grab the ipod files, I'm sure there's some dev on here smart enough to get a reader working.
EDIT: looks like XML files might be the best way to go. Just need an app to parse it.

Hi Guys,
Done a search and cant find any info for this.
I'm trying to justify keeping the nexus One, and getting rid of my HD2, but one big issue I have is that the Nexus will not open password protected PDF files (or i cant make it happen) like the HD2 can.
It is very important for me, as a lot of my customer orders are sent via Password protected PDF file.
I have tried a few of the PDF readers on the market, but cant find one to open them.
Any ideas?
Cheers
password protected PDF
"Nexus will not open password protected PDF files (or i cant make it happen) like the HD2 can."
How in the world did you get your HD2 to open a password protected PDF file. I have them for schoool and am frustrated by the fact that I have not been able to get into mine. Please share your process.
I've placed them on sdcard/eBooks/import as the program says, but when i click to import them it says that nothing is found
So basicly i cant import them
Anyone else with that?
Are there other ways to import them or other readers good as Aldiko?
Strange, it has always worked for me. Takes it's sweet time, but it does do it. double check to make sure the directory is the correct case?
i made "import" with all small caps like in the instructions right?
I ordered my A7 today. It will be here tomorrow. I will be undertaking a project to get my books for next semester scanned and onto my A7.
I want to be able to highlight and take notes all in electronic format. If any of you know good android apps that support highlighting and note taking in conjunction with text reading and quick access to content (page turning, smart bookmarks and searching) I would appreciate the tips.
I am also looking for the best file format to convert my books into for this purpose. Thanks for your thoughts.

I put this in the wrong category. Please move. Thank you!
You can actually buy eTextbooks through both B&N and Amazon, and both the Nook and Kindle apps support highlighting, bookmarking, and notes. I would explore that option as opposed to scanning books...
If you need to highlight pdf files, Repligo Reader is in the Market. It works well for highlighting, annotation and underlining. It also remembers the last place you were at in your file.
Thank you for the suggestions!

Does anyone know a good app I can download view and edit Excel or Word files on? I have tried:
OfficeSuite
E-cell xls
Word To Go
I have attached a copy of the Excel file I am trying to manipulate on the G-Tab. I am able to open, view, and edit the file (well sort of edit). If you view the file file via Excel on you computer you will see it has "check boxes" but I am not able to see them on any of the above mentioned apps. Does anyone know of an app that I can do this with?
The form is being created for use in a physicians' clinic, to help avoid the the clutter of paper and eligible writing.
I was not able to upload (size limit) the Word file I want to be able to edit. But this file is filled with "drop down" menus which do not show up when opened on the G Tab.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dave
That Excel sheet is full of Windows Forms controls. Since those are ActiveX controls I doubt *very* seriously you are going to find any programs on the G Tablet that will allow this file to work correctly. ActiveX, if you aren't familiar with it, is extremely Windows-centric. And at this point, fairly out dated.
