My tilt is only a couple months old, I had to send my old one back b/c my dog spilled Gatorade on it. The new one I have to restart almost daily b/c it gets so slow and just locks up. Sometimes the vibrate won't stop until I either shut it off or delete the notification. But it's fine after a restart. I haven't done anything to it but the home customizer.
Any tips?
I searched.
Backup your data, and try a hard reset.
If you haven't done any rom work on it that will be in factory condition. If it still locks up you can blame a hardware problem and invoke whatever warranty you have
Hello,
Tried to look up some answers to my problem, however I'm not sure exactly what is wrong which makes any troubleshooting rather difficult.
I bought a new ADP1 a few months ago. I haven't had much time to play around with the phone, have just been using it stock and haven't even added any applications. There has been no physical damage to this phone, no drops etc.
Yesterday the phone locked up when I was using the browser and would not function. When I would try and reboot it, it would lock up at the first android screen and would fail to start up. I ended up doing a hard reset to factory defaults and the phone finally booted. After setting everything up again the phone seemed to be working fine.
A few hours later it locked up again while using the browser. This time no reboot/safe mode/factory reset would get it to boot. I can't even get to recovery mode or even get the phone to attempt to boot up. The screen remains black and the phone will not power on. It won't even charge when I plug it into the charger.
Not sure how to proceed here and I can't seem to find any information in regards to RMA, it is still in warranty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Take out the battery for hour or so put it back in and try again.. but this sounds like my issue What happen to Me is my mobo was crapping out and eventually just died on me

Yeah, the mobo going to **** was my original thought.
I already tried taking out the battery last night for about 3 hours, it still didn't work.
Guess I'm going to have to look into an RMA, I hear they are a pain in the ass. The phone is still within it's 1 year.
Yea I would get that done quick

Dear all,
I am hoping someone can help me with the following problem.
My girlfriend was updating her phone (official update, her phone isn't rooted. It's completely stock) (I am not a SGS user myself)..
Then something went wrong, I don't know what. The update freezed.
The battery was removed and inserted again. When the phone was turned on again, a screen popped up: phone and pc connected, but between them a triangle. Probably meaning, there is no connection to the pc or samsung kies.
Sadly enough, the pc won't see the phone. So it cannot connect. I tried a hard reset. (volume up, home button, powerbutton). The only thing that happens is it starts up with the same screen.
So does anyone have an idea how to make the hardreset or to make it connect to samsung kies. Because now the phone is useless offcourse.
Thanks in advance!
(I have to admit, I did do a fast search but not very deep. I am not familier with samsung phone, or the samsung forum).
I hope you guys can help.
(30 minute battery pull did not work)
I called the customer service. They told me the phone is "bricked" and has to go back to repairing centre to fix it. I don't believe that.
Try leaving the battery out for about 10 minutes, then put it back in. Try that and see how that goes.
Failing that I would give your service provider a call and see what they can suggest.
Did you try a factory reset?

Did try a factory reset, but if it even won't do a hard reset, or go to the bootloader or anything like that , I can't....
I am currently waiting for the battery. in 4 munutes I have waited 30 minutes. That should be long enough.
SADLY ENOUGH, THE SAME RESULT AFTER BATTERY PULL FOR 30 Minutes. No samsung logo, just the screen with the phone and the pc stating there is a connection issue.
Can you get the phone into download mode by pressing volume down+home+power?

As you went through kies, and you are stock, take it back too samsung, and while you are at it, remind them what a piece of sh*t kies is!

Hahaha, Kies sure is...
Thanks for all the support. I am happy to announce that the problem is solved. I think I tried to hardreset the damned phone 37 times precisely the same. That was just because I was to stubborn to believe a hard reset wouldn't work. It goes on doesn't it? Than it should be able to hard reset.
Well the 37th time it worked. I was shocked! So everything is fine now and my girlfriend is happy.
Thanks guys.
SOLVED.

Hey guys, i have had the thrill since release date and about a month ago started having problems with data. when i turn on the screen, it shows that im connected to hspa+, but wont get the send and receiving of data arrows to light up. I usually wait about a minute with it trying to get data before i turn off the screen and on again. Usually I just solve the problem by rebooting the phone. This has really started to make me mad and made me want to sell this phone. Its pointless to have a phone in which you only get data half the time you turn the screen on. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.
Just did a nandroid backup, ill see if it improves anything

check your data usage, i got throttle a lot after hitting 5Gb in two weeks.
i'm having the same problems with my phone... i've got unlimited data too so i didn't figure it should be a problem. I'm new to the androids so i don't get what the whole up/down arrows are but it seems if i go from a wifi spot to a non wifi spot my internet shuts off.
No Data
I had the exact same problem about 2 weeks ago. I called customer service they had me hard reset, which resulted in the same problem. Then I they had me factory reset, after the factory reset I was going through the Android setup process when the setup force closed. This basically soft bricked the phone. I would go into recovery then factory reset the phone again, they same result. Just a black screen, with the home keys lit up. I was able to get a new phone through warranty. I am hoping for this one to die as well and be done with this nightmare of a POS phone.

i had the same thing with it not working at all like that the other day too... i ended up just taking out the battery and it worked right again. I'm hoping after modding it i won't have any more problems though
Hey XDA'ers,
First off, in case anyone mentions that I have to use the search function of XDA: I did an I couldn't find any thread with this exact question, so I presume it's okay. Now, ever since I've installed the sound fixing update Over The Air, my phone crashes quite often. This happens most often when I play music through my amplifier with a standard 3.5mm cable. There seems to be about half an hour in between but it varies. The music would suddenly stop and my phone won't turn on anymore, with a completely black screen. If I then wait a little longer, the phone restarts and it does not even require me to enter my SIM's PIN code which is odd on its own, as if it doesn't fully crash but reboot on its own or something. I thought it only happened while listening to audio, but it just happened again when I only tried to open the Album app, I got the message that the app crashed and while that message was popping up (it was still a bit transparent) the phone froze and rebooted.
Now, I'm used to regular apps suddenly crashing with my Xperia Z1 which is weird to begin with, but opening these apps again just gets rid of the problem. It was only a minor annoyance so far, but it did make the Z1 look like the firmware wasn't stable at all (multiple apps keep crashing, even the front camera today as well...). But now that the phone even reboots at least every day, the minor annoyance is becoming a major annoyance. I really don't want to reinstall the firmware because it takes too much time to reinstall all the apps and data I have on the device.
So I'm just wondering now, am I the only one with this issue? I don't suppose there's an easy way to fix it without factory resetting or reflashing firmware. And by the way, I'm completely on stock with my device. I haven't rooted, unlocked the bootloader or anything. If you've experienced this as well, please let me know. Maybe we can dive into it. Have you for example reset factory settings with the issue reoccurring? Have you flashed the firmware yourself and did the issue perhaps stop? I'd love to know.

Try repair the Z1 via PC companion, you will not lose any data to do that and maybe will fix the problem, otherwise a Factory Reset will be recommended.

Wait, this PC Companion repair does not erase any kind of data on my phone? Are you sure?
I thought it would just reflash my firmware and basically do a factory reset. Which is not what I'm looking for.
Have you not experienced any app crashes or rather sudden phone reboots?
I have the same. Sudden reboots. It was the same way when I was rooted on the.. 757 firmware.
I did the repair with Sony update. Still the reboots but even more random. When rooted it usually rebooted when using camera.
Also the touchscreen doesn't react like normal sometimes. Not that often it happens but it happens.
Reboots about once every day and at completely random occasions.
I'm guessing it's the firmware, just have to wait until a stable firmware comes. Until then we are stuck beeing testpilots for Sony developers.

why you are afraid to start from 0 ... I can not understand ... too much of laziness??? your stories of wanting to keep your data, tends to cause bugs that are not on a clean system...
You can save the very important files on your computer... And restore the principal after...
You should atleast try a repair but for me everything actually got worse after the repair.
Someone at Sony replied to me with "have you tried your phone without the sim card". Are there known issues with simcards making our phones crashing I wonder?
