My P7 does not go to sleep mode - after 15 seconds or if I press power button, instead of the screen going to sleep/lock mode - the apk P7 starts (kind a commercial for Ascend P7). So practicaly, the screen on my phone is always on.
Also, there is no option to turn the screen lock (it is greyed out) and there is no option to set or change SIM lock status.
I performed hard reset but all the same. Even flashing newer firmware did not help.
Any clues?

Hmmmm. Certainly very strange. You could try an app like "Quick boot" and try to power off the device through software as opposed to the hardware. But.... whether that works or not, I think your handset is faulty. Can you get it replaced under warranty?

Do you have tried a "update" via buttom mode? (Vol +/vol -/power)?
Normaly you can overwrite the shop mode with this method.

Yes, problem is still here ..
I found this tread, exactly the same problem, it was for Ascend P6:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778613
Obviously, I have demo mode activated on the phone and it is password protected so I cannot disable it.
I tried flashing (B121-B126-B133) but the problem is still here
Root your phone, install root explorer,go in system/app or system/privapp and delete demo.apk or install twrp and flash custom rom or stock rom true twrp.In twrp wipe everything except internal and external storage before flashing.

Hi Guys
The unlocker tool tells me, this device is not supported. There isn't a way to even make an application for unlock.Mi max worked flawlessly.

You missed something. Have You applied at all?
Unlocked mine without any problems. Previously unlocked two redmi note 3 sd phones.
I've unlocked mine without any problems. Have you made an account with Mi? Have you opened the required setting in development section?

I made account with Mi,logged in with same account, ensured find device option works, enabled unlock bootloader in developer options, logged into mi cloud and ensured the deice is only one and online, rebooted into fastboot mode, logged into mi unlock with phone number, and it says checking your mi account for permissions and then your device isnt supported by mi unlock. I tried all versions of unlock with same results.

Can you tell me where to apply? The link is http://en.miui.com/unlock/ and I cannot find a place to apply for permission to unlock, only to download the unlock tool. I had Mi max which I unlocked without issues.

Using latest mi unlock.. Don't know what the problem is. It says account not bound to the device. Hell I have tried it and believe me it is bound. I verified on i.mi.com... Any help appreciated.

Log in to your phone with your account .. enable find my device.
Go to the link attached to the pc:
https://us.i.mi.com/#homenew
Log in with the same account as your phone:
Must write down: 1 connected in the middle and on the right side of your Mi account
Hit Find device ... when it finds (detects)
Then run the miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10 tool as admin on your computer .. and you still know how to do it .. Fastboot mode and continue
It should work
Note: If you can not unlock ... do the same procedure. Repeat the request to unlock the bootloader.
In the following way:
Click on settings > About Phone> Tap on MIUI Version for 4-5 Times and you will see a Toast message saying that you have enable developer mode.
On settings, select Additional Settings
Scroll Down and select Mi Unlock Status
Tap the button : Add account and device
Once it is done , you will recive this message
wait 72 hours and unlock device
Note: When signing up, you must be logged on the computer at the page (link) I have given you.

Thanks for suggestions. I tried the way you suggested. Still it is saying same account not bound. I was very happy when I bought it, Well not so happy now. There's not a unofficial way either.

How did you manage it? simply wait and try again and again?

How did you manage to get it done, could you please share, I'm having the same not supported problem with my Mi Max 2, I'm using the same Mi Account that I used to unlock my Redmi Note 3 (Dec 2016).
What ROM you used? what Steps you took, thanks in advance for sharing.
Hey mate,
Start with unlocking bootloader. Apply for permission, wait few days then use mi tool to unlock. Were you able to make application via website? Chrome would redirect from application page, so it wasnt visible. Had to use Internet explorer and received permission few hours later. However could only unlock it 7 days later. Then use stupdroid to install TWRP, and you are good to go.

Hi everyone.
The thing is, I have eRecovery but I don't have Recovery. Is that normal? I've tried all the combinations I know, volume up + power, volume down + power, with cable connected to the computer, without cable. I just have eRecovery and fastboot mode. By the way, I have a rebranded Huawei P10.
Cheers.

I rebranded my phone (the second time) in C432B180... B185 never came in OTA so I updated via FF. Did the same with B360. I do not know if OTA updates take longer to come to Canada (due to some kind of IMEI check from Huawei maybe).
EDIT: Solved, check latest post. (#28)
My Mi 9 bricked after i flashed the MIUI 11 beta (9.9.24), then with MiFlash, flashed back to Global (i have unlocked the bootloader)
Now the phone is in this state:
- Screen black, no signal to anything, no LED turns on
- Cannot boot to System, Fastboot, Recovery, or EDL
- Does not react to any button combination (Tried with/without charger, power button holding for 1 min, etc.) Guess i'm f-ed
Can someone help me please? :/
I'm not an expert but if you phone don't event turn on, how you expect someone to help you? The only one who can help you it's a service or a repair lab. I don't think that the problem is in software.

You need to open back cover, find EDL testpoint pins and flash full ROM through MiFlash.
If you dont have authorized Mi account for EDL flash, find someone who have it.

If you can go under the device manager and see if there is a usb device connecting? It may be in Snapdragon's flash mode. If it is, you need to find someone with a privledged account or goto the mi store.

Can you dubbelcheck the rom you tried to flash? Make sure its really for MI9? This kind of trouble most of the time happens when flashing a rom for another phone. Like MI9T or something.

With the Mi A2, when it boot you have a screen with a question, and if you are pushing a button, then you must push a button again to continue.

Unlocking the bootloader allows to flash anything.
Meaning you could exploit to remove security and then access data for example.
And its somewhat linked to the fact that a resetted phone will alwys ask for the last used google account on it (if it was not remove prior to the factory reset, in this case enforced by unlocking the bootloader).
Its basically a security measure!
Hi guys, Android 10 update is out now. Maybe this time this trick will work just like the Mi A1 ? Can anyone confirm it please.
