This has been annoying me for a while - when I call open the Google Now (= search) app, I want my keyboard to appear.
In the past, I had set up a profile in which when I open Google Now, it runs a task which was simply [launch app, app Chrooma]. This worked fine.
Now I'm using gboard, and if I create a task to launch the gboard app, all I get are the gboard settings - I expected to see the keyboard come up.
Does anyone know how to invoke the gboard keyboard?

I have a couple of apps that won't allow the clipboard to be used. The modal key doesn't show the clipboard button (or the voice button, either), and tapping in the text input field doesn't show the "paste" button.
These are financial apps, and I wonder if this is something that is built into them by the developer as an ill-conceived "security" feature, or if there's just something wonky going on in the custom ROM I'm using.
Anyway, is it possible to force the clipboard to be always be available, or does an app developer have final control over clipboard availability within their own app?
BTW- The clipboard used to work in both of these apps, but I don't recall if I updated them between the time it used to work and the time it stopped working.
I use exDialer as my dialing app but every time I swipe the phone shortcut from lockscreen, it prompts me to see if I want to set exDialer as default. I select yes each time but it never "sticks" and it reprompts me each time. Any suggestions?
When it prompts you to select the dialer app, select always on exDialer.
After installing this profile you will be able to set an alarm that will play a song or playlist on Google Home.
**Required** Spotify Premium Account & Tasker. Also download the Spotify_Alarm.prf.xml.
Part 1:
1. Install and setup Tasker on your phone.
2. Open the Spotify app and find the song or playlist of your choice.
3. Click on the three vertical dots to the right of your song or playlist, then select “Share,” then “Copy Link” (you will make use of the URL in the next section).
4. Play the song to get access to the "Devices Available" setting at the bottom of the screen and select your Google Home. Exit Spotify.
Part 2:
1. Place the Spotify_Alarm.prf.xml file in your device’s Tasker/profiles folder (if these folders do not exist then create them).
2. Open Tasker and long-press “Profiles,” then select “Import” and import the xml file from Part 1.
3. Once imported press the Spotify Alarm profile to expand it and press the task portion of the profile (the section on the right hand side of the profile).
4. Next press "Browse URL" and copy the Spotify URL in the "URL" field. The start of the URL will begin with "https://open.spotify..." change it to "https://play.spotify..."
5. Back-out of Tasker to save the profile. Done!
You can now create an alarm on your phone using Google Now or by hand (set your alarm app to silent). The alarm will trigger your Spotify selection and cast it to GH. Enjoy!
***Important***
- Depending on your Android version, you must disable your lockscreen or Spotify will not auto-play, Set your lockscreen to “none.”
- Playing music on GH prior to your scheduled alarm will reset the Spotify cast device app setting back to "phone." Therefore set the Spotify app to play on GH just prior to going to bed to avoid this issue.
- Disable battery optimization for both Tasker and Spotify or your device may disable their service when idle.

Hi, error spotify open but don't play. And I want to say the alarm at google home and google home program this alarm in my phone. It's possible you think? It's new project for you please.
Thanks
With Oreo if I saw a TeslaUnread Gmail notification of e.g. "5" and opened the app to read a single email then closed the app, the badge stayed on the Gmail icon but the number decreased by one to "4". That's perfect. But TeslaUnread has stopped working properly on Android Pie. Nova also has default notification dots but these don't have a message count and are based on status bar notifications so they disappear when you open the apps, even if you don't read any messages.
The standard Huawei badges don't work very well, and not at all for Gmail.
Are there any other notifiers (launchers?) which work well with Pie?
many thanks
I suggest you go into TeslaUnread's settings and disable and then reenable the apps you want monitored. I have to do this after each Nova Launcher update, as it stops reporting unread messages correctly.

This only works once. Then you have to go into TeslaUnread's settings and disable/enable all over again.
There is no problem with the default launcher and notifications...and you also have the option to change badged to unread messages, exactly like you want to...it works very well for me on android Pie(I can see in every app icon the number of unread messages,if I read only one or two,the number decreases, not really sure for gmail,I don't use it). Just go to launcher settings, and change the badge type to unread messages.
Hi,
might seem a silly question but it's very annoying while driving that I receive Samsung calendar notifications. While they appear full screen, Waze and music sounds are silenced.
I have to manually dismiss them before all sounds are 'restored'.
I just want to drive without interruptions of the calendar app, anyone know how this can be done? I'm also using Android Auto but don't see any setting that can accomplish this.
thank you
I'm using Tasker and AutoNotifcation for this. I block some notifications and enable the AOD while connected to my cars Bluetooth.
- install both apps
- in Tasker add a task and search for "AutoNotification Block".
- Tap the pen of Configuration and select the apps you want to block the notification for. You can also add the package name manually
- Under "Toggle" set it to "Block"
- go back and set the timeout to none (slide the slider to the most right)
- go back to the task
- go back to the task list
- add a new task, do the same as above but instead of "Block" set the Toggle to "Unblock".
Now you have the needed tasks and you can set the profiles for them.
- In Tasker go to the profile tap and add a new profile, name it whatever you want.
- Tap on "Status" and filter for "Bluetooth connected" (Note: Bluetooth must be enabled while creating the profiles!).
- Name is optional, tap on the magnifying glass for "Address" and select your cars Bluetooth address.
- go back and Tasker will popup a window where you need to assign a task. Assign the "block" task.
- now do the same again but Mark the "Reverse" check mark in the Bluetooth address menu and after this select the "unblock" task.
So, Tasker will tell AutoNotification to block the specific notifications while connected to the Bluetooth device and unblock it if disconnected.
I hope it works for you. I don't know the English menu entries for Tasker since my app is in German, sorry if there's something different.
thanks, great tip : I already bought Tasker a while ago, I'll set it up like that
