Help!
1) I cannot save correctly any file on my external 128GB SD memory card. PDF files are saved in a corrupted format. If I create with Total Commander a new folder, it gets deleted later on.
2) The tablet is not rooted.
3) I even tried to copy files via Windows to the tablet via USB-cable and I receive the same error.
Is there a way to check the SD card for errors through Android?
Thank you!
Agreed, doesn't matter which SD card I use.
I have the same issue, I've tried both a cheap, ebay purchased SD card and Samsung SD card from a store. I have the SM-T813. Both of the SD cards had exactly the same issue. I've not rooted the tablet yet, though this is a key reason I'd like to try rooting the tablet.
If this were my problem, I'd pop the card, put in in a USB reader, and try it out directly under Windows. It may need to be reformatted or even re-partitioned.
I contacted the manufacturer. I'll get a replacement because it's broken physically.

Help,
After i flashed my KAISER i have a problem. The sd card is not recognised anymore. Is there a solution for this problem?
I hope so, otherwise i have a brick
Storage card problem
I always used a 4 gig card, just tried an 512 mb card, and that one was recognised. Strange isn't it?
First, which method did you use to flash your new ROM?
If you used the USB method to flash your new ROM, did you remove your SD card during the flash process?
If you used the SD card method to flash your new ROM, did you do a hard reset with your SD card inserted?
Second, do you have an SD card reader for your computer? I would probably try to verify that the file system and data are intact on your SD card. If you have an SD card reader, you can also use it to reformat your card.
If none of this is helpful, provide some more information to fill in the gap between your microSD card working properly and not showing up on your phone.
Re
I flashed to TPCV5.1 full today. No sd in my phone.
My cars reader in the computer doesn't recognise the sd card either.
Strange thing is , when i use an other 4 gig sd card, the phone still doesn't recognise it, my card reader on my computer does, so why not on my phone.
I had a 2 gig sd card, and put all the data again on it, and it's working.
Stilli have a problem that my phone won't recognise a 4 gig sd card.
So far my story.
Does seem odd. What file system is your 4GB card formatted with? If it shows up as "RAW" or anything, I would definately format it to FAT32.
Edit: I was referring to your "other" 4GB card. I don't think I have any advice for the original one.
Alright so this is really odd and I've never seen this before and I couldn't find anything on it in the forums. So my problem is that I just got a 32gb micro sd card, I formatted it to FAT32 and it works just fine in Windows and in my Nook. So here's the problem... when I add files to the sd through windows they don't appear on the micro sd card on android. I believe they continue to go to the LOST dir on the sd card and in a very odd format. I know I should be able to do this because I have an 8gb micro sd card that I can do this with just fine. The really odd thing is, if I dropbox files to the sd card or copy files from the EMM to the micro sd card they show up just fine... Can anybody help me? This is a real pain in the ass as I would really like to just be able to connect the card or the nook to my computer and just throw files on it.
gets even stranger...
So now this is really really strange... so adding files to the card through the cable to the nook they won't show up in android and when I had the card hooked up to a card reader and added them they also wouldn't show up in android. I just tried the card reader that they supplied and then threw files on it and now the files show up in android. VERY VERY ODD, I can't think of a single explanation for this...
EDIT: I was wrong, so apparently its only if I transfer over folders this card has no idea how to handle them in android. If I put all the files in the root directory without folders its fine. Anybody know what would cause this?
Who formatted the card using what method? You want the tablet to do it using FAT32.
I have the above memory card for my N7000 (Rocket Rom v3) and am having problems verifying its capacity.
H2testw (Windows utility) verified it as having no errors and as 32Gb
ES File Explorer's SD card analyst displays capacity as 11.06Gb
SD Tools displays capacity as 11.6Gb
I have tried copying music (21Gb) to the sdcard using two methods. Firstly connecting the phone as a media device which was very slow and started to throw up errors after a while. Then secondly by removing the SD card from the phone and plugging it into my laptop (Win7) which was far quicker. This second method didn't throw up any errors BUT when I put the card back into my phone no files were found!
I am beginning to think I have a fake SD card which when plugged straight into my laptop is telling it 'Yes I'm a 32GB card' but for some strange reason allows it to copy too many files to the card without complaint. I am going to do some tests to check this out.
In the meantime is there an alternative utility which is guaranteed to verify what my card is either on Android or MS?
Thanks
Please try to do a SD card format on your laptop before putting it in your phone
It might be an issue with its storage that is preventing android from detecting the full size
If that didn't work, try to format the memory card over the phone (using settings)
Best of luck

Okay there were 2 problems, the first one was getting the memory card to be read by my note which I've now managed to do, not sure what I did but there you go, but it certainly wasn't reading before.
The second problem and this is a little embarrassing but when ES File Explorer opens up it displays the contents of the "/sdcard/" by default which on my old desire was the external sdcard but on my note its the internal memory! Not the external sdcard! To view the external sdcard you need to navigate to "/storage/extSdCard/" which is downright misleading unless you come from a Unix mindset of course
SDTools just seems incapable of picking up the external SD card and can only see the internal memory.
Solved
So.... I always backup my things, but my friend not so much and well all the sudden he was asking me why there where hardly any pictures in his gallery. Well the micro sd card was not being detected so I put another in and it reads it fine.
Also put the Micro SD Card into my PC nothing at all even under storage devices, it detects the adapter is plugged in but as if there was no card in the SD to micro sd adapter. Also placed it in several other phones nothing like its dead.
I`m not getting the error like people have where the card is detected but corrupted, This card reads not at all! If it was "courpted" I have data recovery software for that ive used for people in the past, but this card seems dead.
Anything I can do? It has a ton of family pics etc on it which cannot be got back. I know the data is most likely there as there has been no physical damage to the card or even the phone.
I have also tried cleaning the cards contacts.
Any suggestions? Its a 8GB Samsung Micro SD card.
Hello. I suggest Recuva ( https://www.piriform.com/recuva ). Run it with your PC and use Admin rights. Deep scan your sdcard. You maybe able to recover files then, if the files themselves are readable and not corrupted. I have had these file corruption problems with cheap ebay sdcards wich at the end appeared to be fake/counterfeits.
I also suggest to format sdcard exFAT and run h2testw ( http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/H2testw.shtml ) to sdcard with PC to see is your card faulty.

You will need some specialist recovery software. We were recommended a program called ZAR. Other similar programs are available, but ZAR worked well for us and is free for this purpose.
Install ZAR, then insert the damaged SD card into your PC's card reader. Launch ZAR. (You may have to disable your PC's security software, in which case we recommend you also disable the internet connection).
When prompted, click the Image Recovery (Free) option. This will help you to recover photos from an SD card.
ZAR will now look for devices that are installed, and you need to point it to the offending SD card. Select the correct disk and click Next. ZAR will now analyze your SD card. This will take a few minutes.
Once this is complete you'll see a list of the recovered files. On most SD cards the chances are that clicking the 'Root' checkbox will select all the images. Click Next and you can then select the folder into which recovered files will be placed. By default, this will be the same as the folder you chose to save (so 'Root', in all likelihood).
One important point: you will be asked to select a destination folder for the recovered files. Make sure you choose one on your PC's hard disk and not back on to the corrupt SD card. The latter option will help you not one jot!
It will take a few minutes for the files to copy across. Once this is complete browse to the destination folder you selected. You should find most if not all of the files you wanted to rescue.
Hi all,
I have a sandisk SD card in my phone set as internal storage since I got it.
Today it is going funny...I can see it in the list of storage but when I browse it I don't see any contents.
I plugged the phone into PC and it shows as 22.8gb free of 119gb but also will not show any contents.
I have removed and reinserted the SD card, I have tried setting it as internal storage again but no luck.
Even in ES File Manager I see the SD card name but once selected no content.
Currently cannot try the SD card in computer directly as I am in office and don't have an Micro to standard SD adaptor card with me. I am not too concerned about data loss as all my photos are backed up on Onedrive and my music on my laptop.
Did anyone else have issues such as this in the past?
Any tips on how to resolve without having to format SD card and copy everything back?
Cheers
Ok, very strange.
In my laptop using card directly everything is there with no issues but phone just sees the 22gb empty part of SD card.
I tried another blank Samsung SD card and it works fine so I copied the data from the card with the issue and everything works fine.
Formatted the card playing up and also is fine.
So no idea why the phone decided not to see all the data on the SD card that was in it for last 6 months.
