Just got my Active back from Samsung Warranty Repair for a non working back button. I was AWS and SIM unlocked so I could work on T-Mobile. They removed my AWS unlock and flashed it to 4.3.
I am unable to downgrade it to MF1 to AWS unlock it I get Secure Check Fail in ODIN (Never did before, same computer, same files). All known other methods to AWS unlock end up in error in QPST.
What do I do?? The only firmware that now flashes to the phone is 4.3 ML2, nothing else will flash to it without secure fail. Without AWS unlock the phone is a paperweight.
I just use the unlock code. No need to enable any aws bands. It works out of the box for me on ML2. Using tmobile. 4g lte

Nope, it's not AWS unlocked. TMobile works on some bands that ATT uses depending on your area. Unless you hack the modem, it's not AWS unlocked and you won't get LTE in all areas.
Hello,
I recently acquired from ebay a used Sprint HTC One M7 for cheap because the guy couldn't unlock it.
I followed all the tutorials and guides here, and got the phone unlocked, TWRP recovery and SuperSU flashed, S-OFF, and a custom rom (Viper) flashed on it successfully.
I am from France and my network operator is Free.fr. I used both the *#*#4636#*#* and the Mobile settings to enable GSM and the phone, SMS, and 3G data are all working properly.
However, my operator allows for 4G LTE as well and I would like to use it if possible, while retaining the use of the Phone itself (making calls, texts etc).
The way it works for Free.fr is that I have to login on their website, and enable 4G manually. The server will then check if my phone has 4G LTE compatibility and enable it if it does, but everytime I try it tells me my phone is not 4G ready.
Is there anyway to do this? A guide or tutorial out there perhaps?
edit: more info:
It seems I need 2600 MHz frequency for 4G to work with my operator, could it be that the Sprint version cannot handle this? Any solutions?

Yeah :/ the Sprint HTC One only supports the 1900MHz for LTE. There aren't any solutions afaik, unless you might want to do a hardware mod, and doing hardware mods on an One is near-impossible.. so you're out of luck.

Ah well, that's alright, at the price I got it for it's still worth it even without 4G. Thanks for the reply!

I did exactly what you did and I had signal. I am from France so I don't know about AT&T though. With my French operator it works fine now.

I have a N920P sprint note 5. It is unlocked and rooted....i want to know if i could install a att rom on it. Im tired of seeing that sprint splash screen and i cant get 4g on it
I have sm-n920p and flashed the darthstalker rom which has several options for device selection during the install. I installed the tmobile version with no issues besides my network not working, it even listed device info under status as sm-n920t. Mine is not network unlocked but is rooted. If yours is unlocked and rooted I wouldnt think youd have any issues as I did not installing a tmobile rom. Maybe try a rom that has several or a few device compatibility. May or may not be a issue but I would feel safer with a rom that supported a few different models rather then a rom that was specific to a device that's not mine.
I understand exactly what you mean. Hmm i may try this later on today.
It didn't work

Didn't work at all or what did you run into? The first bootup took awhile but worked for me. I was on the noble kernel before flashing in twrp and had oem unlock enabled in dev options. I did the sm-920t choice and worked. Here is official pagehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-note5/development/rom-darthstalker-note5-version-1-aroma-t3212091
The sprint note 5 has different radio hardware than the other note 5's so to get phone calls and data to work you need to run sprint roms. Thats just the difference between CDMA radio hardware and the GSM radio hardware. ***SIM UNLOCK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CELL RADIO NOT WORKING ON A NON SPRINT ROM***You can use gsm service with a sim unlocked sprint note 5 as long as you are running a sprint rom. At&t has no root or roms for the note 5 so just stick to the sprint forum and you will be fine.
Right, my data did not work once I flashed the sm-n920t version but everything else seemed ok. I tried using a tmobile sim card and could not because my phone was is not uicc unlocked. He was saying his is unlocked and was wanting to flash a att rom which shouldnt be a problem from my experience unless 920p and 920t are compatible while the att version is not. I think the note 5 is capable of most networks gsm, hspa, cdma, lte, just need the right sim and the phone unlocked.
Some interesting stats for some that have bought a Sprint to modify and run on a different carrier.
I have two Moto Z2F phones one of VzW and the other on Sprint BL, Sim Unlocked and rooted stock Rom.
I ran Speed test from home with both phones
Sprint XT1789-03 signal -111dBm Download speed 8.75 Mbps Sprint Sim 4g LTE
Sprint XT1789-03 signal – 99 dBm Download speed 13.85 Mbps Verizon Sim 4g LTE (Still Roaming)
Verizon XT1789-01 signal -110dBm Download speed 58 to 65 Mbps Verizon Sim 4g LTE not Roaming
I’m trying to stop the roaming on my Sprint with VzW sim. I tried a network reset and corrupted my VzW sim, I had to go to the VzW store and get a new sim.
I tried re flashing the stock rom too many times to remember.
I can not get the VzW firmware to work, it will flash ok but set-up keeps stopping so I’m using the Sprint firmware.
The phone is running great, BL unlocked, rooted, Safety net checks ok, I have good Titanium backups, TWRP backups that all work. I don’t know how I did it but the encryption correct with no errors in TWRP.
I just can't get the phone to stop roaming with my VzW sim.
I wonder when I put my Sprint sim in does the chdmod change back??

Have you tried keeping all partitions sprint except system and OEM? (Get to latest sprint stock, then flash latest Verizon system sparse chunks and OEM image). It worked flawlessly on my Sprint Z2 for AT&T
I flashed Verizon system sparse chunks and OEM image.
I changed the Fbat file to the new names (oem.img Sprint, oem.img_sparsechunk.0 VzW etc)
after booting I get "Setup keeps closing" error, I get the same error when I flash just the VzW firmware
I'n not sure whats doing that.
one thing to think about, over the weekend I called VzW. we tried to get my phone to stop roaming, Shutting of roaming helps but i lost all signal/service. the VzW tech said its because my phone is still active on Sprint. The Tech said that my phone is unlocked and will work on VzW but only once I cancel my Sprint account. That test was with the Sprint Firmware.
These are the file names from the VzW Firmware that I replaced with the rest of the Sprint Firmware.
I can’t get past the start menu. The error is “Seup keeps closing” I get the same error just flashing the stock VzW firmware.
I’ve tried downloading the VzW firmware from other sites/mirrors and get the same error msg after the firmware boots and I enter the setup.

I have a fully unlocked Samsung Note 9 (N960U model) that I was using with Ultramobile which uses T-Mobile. I popped in my Simcard and phone rebranded it's self as a T-Mobile phone which is typical. I switched carriers and now with Straight Talk and using a Verizon simcard. Phone is still showing up as T-Mobile when it reboots and even has the T-Mobile bloatware.
I went on Sammobile and flashed the Verizon firmware using Odin and that did nothing as the phone still is showing as T-Mobile. I tried flashing the Unlocked firmware (XAA) and same story, once phone reboots, still shows as being T-Mobile. I even brought it to BestBuy and had them flash the Verizon firmware to no avail....
Is it permanently locked to T-Mobile even though the phone it's self is unlocked? HELP!
When you had the T-Mobile SIM installed, did you check to see if the T-Mobile Device Unlock app was installed & if so, did you run it to check the unlock status?
I know phones don't re-lock themselves, just considering the possibilities.....
One other thing:
When using ODIN to change firmware/etc..... if you didn't before, try changing the firmware w/o the SIM Card installed.
Outside of the above, I'm out of suggestions.
I have a T-Mobile Note 9 & used to test unlocked betas of Android 9 w/o any issues.

Funny you say that, the T mobile Device unlock app did install it's self. It tells me the device is network locked (Obviously isn't since it was originally an AT&T phone) and when I click continue, the server is not responding and that would be expected since this isn't even a Tmobile branded phone! My issue is Some of the APN settings on Verizon are different than TMobile and I can't get VolLTE. Any ideas...?
Interesting, never tried Odin without Sim card...When I did flash the unlocked and Verizon firmware and phone rebooted, the phone recognized there was a different carrier sim and rebooted (It did this when I first unlocked it from AT&T and went to Tmobile) but instead of re-branding or switching to a Verizon phone, it just reboots and still stuck with T-Mobile firmware. I want to be clear also, phone works fine with the exception of MMS and VolLTE which I believe I would get back once I switch to a Verizon firmware
I know this doesn't solve the SIM Unlock issue, but, have you manually changed the APN for the SIM Card you're using?

I did, I changed it to Straight Talk Verizon APNs settings. I just don't know how T-Mobile can lock my phone....
Some of the MNVO's Sim cards don't have all the data as the man brand in my experience I would get a Verizon Sim I've had the same problem use it to do the carrier change then install your regular Sim
[/COLOR]I have a T-mobile sim card in my Unlocked Verizon note 9 and it says its locked as well but it isn't. Just change the sim card and it will work just fine. If there is tmobile software left on it you will may have to flash your firmware to get rid of it. If there is T mobile software left you will have to flash your firmware to get rid of it.
My Verizon branded Note 9 is SM N960U. How is yours unlocked?
