When I set it as a hotspot the battery life drains quite fast. In 6hours the battery life is 20%. Where as my old phone sony xperia z3 compact lasted longer... in 6hours it was only 60%. Why is battery life poor on P10? anyway to improve battery life when using as hotspot? I tried the battery saver option but it still gave same result
Hotspots use alot of battery, thats just how it is.

But how come the sony z3 compact can last longer than p10 especially when the z3 has a smaller battery pack 2600mAh

Hello,
I recently purchased a galaxy s3 lte with the extended 3000mah battery. I have found the battery drain to be unusually high. it is draining at around 3% an hour. I am on the sentinel ROM. I changed to the normal slim battery and it also seemed to be draining at a similar rate. I have sync off, LTE off, brightness down, For the day there is 66% battery left and it has been on the battery for almost 12 hours. the chief offender seems to be android OS which acounts for 46% of battery useage. the screen has bee in use for 46 minutes
Is this normal. Do i just need to run the battery down a few times? I have tried the stock and other roms such as rXtreme and it all seems to be roughly the same.
THanks
James
It could be the battery itself. It may need a few charges to optimise.
Did you reset your battery stats when you put in the new battery?

How good is your signal reception? If it is like mine I think it is normal with that battery usage. In my home it is constantly searching for 4G because the 4G signal is to weak where I live. 3G is not the best either. So I always turn off 4G when the signal is weak, and that helps a little. If 3G is very weak I turn that off too.
When I'm out driving the signal is varying all the time, and it is searching for the best signal. That is battery consuming.
EDIT: Also check if Google Now is on. It is a BIG battery drainer.

thanks for the advice.
yes i have reset my battery stats. it is only the 2nd? maybe 3rd charge cycle. So hopefully it will get better. I am out of reception for most of the day when I am at work, I assume this will impact quite alot aswell. I guess the real test is on the weekend when I will be in good reception all day.
I bought my Xperia Z almost three weeks ago, and I am very happy with this device.
The device showed me that I had a few hours left on battery, but as soon as I turned on Stamina-mode it told me I even had a few days left! (But it never really gave me these few days.)
Now I have installed CM10.1 on my rooted Xperia Z, I lost Stamina. But for me it didn't really have impact on battery life.
Battery life on my rooted CM10.1 Xperia Z is still very good.
My question: Was Stamina really improving battery life, or was it just adding placebo?
yes it's improving battery life when in standby mode(screen is off / not using phone)
I personally think Greenify does a much better job. Without needing to turn off data.

It depends a lot on your usage patterns. If you use a lot of mobile data, it makes a huge difference. It literally turns off data when the screen is off. So it improves your battery life by that much. However, over WiFi it didn't really make much of a difference. Also, if you wake your phone up every few minutes to text, it seems to only hurt the battery as it keeps the phone awake for about a few minutes after the screen is off. So you're essentially reducing the idle time of your phone. So it's all up to how you use it.

Ok so I got my XZ yesterday and the battery life is worse than my SGS3. My S3 lasted 1.5 to 2 days with the same amount of usage. I have no idea how the battery life is on 4.3 or 4.2.2 as I upgraded it to .230, the moment i got the phone.
Anyways, my question is whether the battery life improves if i install custom roms (LB) or is the problem kernel sided.
Also is 7% of battery usage a lot? Google play services is taking 7% of battery.
whitch buy between sony z or g2 ? i want battery life longer than 1day without charge, but sd card problem in g2. can xperia lasts longer of 1day without charge? tell me what you used like; Snapchat Fb, Messenger, and how long stand by without charge. tell me because i dont know whitch choose... i want better battery life 3000mah i see in lg g2 and 2330 xperia z, the mah says longer battery life or no? mm xperia z have power saver modes.

Hi Everyone. Some Days Ago i feel My Xperia xz2 battery not last as before. Was Get around 8 hours on Blu_schedutil Governor But Now I get around 6 hours. I check Battery Health in service menu it show 2894000 uAh Which 2894 in mAh. But Actual Battery Capacity Of Xperia XZ2 is 3180 mAh. is Your Xperia Xz2 Also Decreasing Battery Health?
2867 mAh is my current capacity and ofc it'll degrade like any other battery but your battery life looks great for a 2+ years old device.
I feel you.

It's quite a bit of work... but probably worth it. Since currently the SD865 is first gen 5G and uses way too much Power and devices are way to expensive. So Staying with the XZ2 for a little longer seems like a good idea.
There is a design capacity in the battery part, but it doesn't reflect the internal battery capacity the phone uses
The internal one according the the config file is 3060mAh
If your battery last less than before, use the better battery stats app to find the things on your phone using more battery than before.
The battery info menu also got removed with android 10
If the system drains you battery, you should (full wipe and) upgrade to android 10.
