Advanced calling not working? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

I can't get advanced calling to work. I go into settings, I click activate advanced calling, it tells me that advanced calling 1.0 is already activated on my line, then it says I need to completely turn the phone off and on, but when I do, there is no change. I go back I to settings and it shows again I need to activate it. What am I missing?

I remembered having this issue on my Sony Xperia with Verizon. You should check to see if it is enabled in your Verizon account settings online.

He said it was a setting on their side. I could hear him literally going line by line on everything and then finally he said shut it off and restart it and then the options opened up. He said it was something in their coding and settings that needed to be fixed. If it helps at all the guys name was Justin and he was a second level tech. He seemed pretty knowledgeable. Haven't called anyone with video but voice over Wi-Fi works (same with texting over wifi).

Google Voice: How's It Work?

How's it work?
It even works when the phone is off. I don't know how it works? What's telling AT&T "hey, route this to Google instead"?
It changes your call forwarding preferences. That is an AT&T setting back at home, so is independent of the state of your phone.
A call goes to voicemail if your phone is busy or doesn't answer. How that's handled is done at the AT&T end.

So the setting you set in your phone actually gets transferred to ATT, then. That makes sense.

Google Voice Integration Issues

So I got my one, when it was being activated in the store there was an error of some sort and it came down to a google voice issue. It was eventually fixed after a number of calls but I left with it working. I came home and loaded it up with my apps and re activated google voice so i can text from the web etc etc. It worked for a while but now my phone cannot make and recieve calls and texts, I only have data,
I called sprint last night they told me to wait until 2pm today even though he did not know what the issue was....its very fristrating, I get some recorded message from a guy saying that the number i called is not in service when I just called that number from another phone.
Has anyone else had any issues like this?
I would try disabling the integration on voice.Google.com and re enabling it once you confirm your phone works properly without it. I'm integrated and have never had this issue.

I'm not the most knowledgeable on this but Im about 99.9 percent sure there's no way either could cause your problem. Its something with the service programming either on googles end or sprints end.
This may be somewhat helpful I use Google voice for my voicemail.when I installed and provisioned it at the last step it gave me an error and said it could not save numbers but it does work!

I would de-integrate then call up Sprint and have them push a hands free activation to your phone. Wait 30 minutes then try re-integrating with Google Voice. I know this error happened frequently in the beginning with accounts that were integrated and then they switched phones without de-integrating first. I use the Sprint-GV integration and its why whenever I switch phones, I always de-integrate first, activate the new phone, then re-integrate with GV. Hope you get it figured out soon.
Thanks for the input. You guys were on the right track. My third hour long call got to the issue. Seemingly my phone wasn't fully provisioned and it was a network error but my activation of Google voice kicked my network completely out of sync. Still all a little strange but I'm back up and running. Hopefully when I re enable gvoice I won't get the same error. I was also told the first two people I spoke with should of seen this....I guess you gotta be lucky with who you get on the phone.

Voice and Data?

So I just got this device from my job and while on a call I needed to look something up in browser and some other app and it told me I cant do that while on a call. In this day and age verizon still doesnt support voice and data at the same time? Or am I suppose to move some setting?

Nope and when i tried it said my line belongs to a business account and to go through my administrators. I dont really want to make a big deal about it, but i figured it was an automatic thing for 4g LTE.

I had the same error when trying to activate advanced calling . You just have to call customer care to activate it.

Answer AND talk on phone through watch?

I had never tried talking on phone through watch because I wasn't sure it would work well. But I tried today...and all it did was answer the phone, but I had to use the phone to talk.
I see no reason I'd want to click answer on the watch of I have to head the phone to talk anyway.
So my question is am I supposed to be able to do that?

Yes you are and it works for me. I've done it a few times when I can't reach my phone. The person on the other end didn't even realise that I was talking via my watch.

Blu Vivo XL auto answering my calls

Recently my Blu Vivo XL has been answering calls on its own. This issue happens ONLY when the caller is in my contacts and when the phone is in sleep. I have searched through the settings of this phone. I have have not found where this setting has been enabled and I do not recall enabling this. If there is a way to disable this please let me know.
There's a app on the Play Store called MTK Engineer mode where you can toggle Auto Answer in the first page.

Thank you I already have this but it's in an app called LTE Discovery (LTE Engineer) I was snooping around the settings and I think I pushed it.
BTW: I only use it to set it to LTE only because my phone always switches to the slow network.
Thanks, What a relief now I don't have my phone auto answering scam calls and getting charged
Thank You,

You're welcome, I was messing with the Engineer Mode app and saw that, I don't mess with the app much but I have for a different reason, if I decide to do it which is change the ROM on the phone.
