Anyone else waiting for their Note 8 pre-order to ship? I was hoping to have mine by now, still no word..
I tweeted them to ask about the the release date and heard nothing from them, so not getting any I guess.
I emailed them either Fri or Sat and received this email yesterday

Good to know... I've been waiting since 9/8 for some kind of update
Yea. I kept wondering so I reached out. I ordered the dragon skin
---------- Post added at 07:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:04 PM ----------
I literally just received a tracking number for it
Was just wondering WTF was taking them so long.
Put in an order today and got a message saying that it would be about a week before they start shipping. Maybe they need to buy another printer? :silly:
Got a tracking number today for a copper skin
ordered last week around Thursday-Friday and got tracking today.
Order placed on September 11th for a custom print. Still no movement.
I ordered mine when I ordered the phone. Shipped on the 14th and arrived an hour before the phone came (same day!!)
Took me a while to work up the nerve of actually applying it, since I didn't want to screw up. It was pretty difficult to get perfect, and once the skin touches the glass, its very difficult to get off (which is a great thing).
I would take better angled pics, but I'm limited to the kiosk phones atm lol.
Also, if you're wondering why the skin has a grid-like bump look to it, it must be a layer in the skin. I don't mind though, as it gives the skin more texture.

I just found this really funny . It's a guy that bought an Otterbox for his Nexus One. He wrote this story on my thread
Christopher3712 said:
Otterbox (surprise) messed up my order. My Defender case was supposed to come in last Wednesday and never appeared. I checked FedEx and all they showed was "Shipping information sent to FedEx." It was never "picked up" or "in transit". Upon calling Otterbox (Thursday), they put me on hold and contacted FedEx, stating that then Defender had been picked up from their warehouse. They claim FedEx must have lost it. The girl was nice enough to ship out a new Defender case and gave me free overnight delivery. However, they didn't ship the case out until Friday evening, which means it didn't leave until Saturday. As of now, it's in my city and expected delivery is by 3pm local time (within an hour as it's 2pm here now). Otterbox blames the holdup on their new iPhone4 cases and the the backlog this generated because of the high volume of orders. If Apple had built a better phone, I wouldn't have had to wait the extra few days. This is the first time an iPhuck has created a problem for me.

I'm excited to get this case. I have a Commuter series case and the weakness there is on the corners. The silicone isn't strong enough to prevent damage from a 4 ft. drop. I have a minor dent where this occurred on my phone. Even though you can't see it, just knowing it's on my phone bothers me in a tiny way. lol
So i got home last night and i have to admit, i was excited to put on my Defender case. I rip open the packaging, pulled out my Nexus One reciept and my Nexus One Defender Ca...
Wait a minute.
I KNOW i'm not looking at an HTC HD2 DEFENDER CASE.
Yes, read it again. They phukked up my order. So I called them up and explained what happened and they're shipping me one AGAIN. It should be here tomorrow. This case better be the case to end all cases.
So after my last fiasco Otterbox sent out a new phone and emailed me a shipping label so I could send the old case back. I printed out the shipping label this morning and noticed they got my address wrong, but theirs was correct. Mind you, I have a long address and all they did was use the first address line instead of putting my apartment number on the second address line so the full address would show up with FedEx. Sensing something may be amiss, I called FedEx to verify the shipment I was receiving today was coming to the correct address. It wasn't. I had to call Otterbox and have them contact FedEx and correct my address. They delivered the package this afternoon. So I came home to find my box waiting for me. I open it up to find my brand new...
...drumroll...
Black iPhone 3GS Defender series case.
I just about sh*t a brick. So I called them (and waited for 30 minutes) for customer service and spoke to the EXACT SAME agent I spoke to that corrected my address today and incidentally sent me the 1st replacement. He offered to send out yet another case and was trying to get it out tonight. If they don't get this case correct the 3rd time, i'll just ask for a refund. Otterbox is full of sh*t. I really hope this case is worth it.

Hi, I need a battery cover for my phone and can't find one anywhere. I checked amazon, ebay, AT&T stores...ideas please.
Sorry can't post link, but go to globaldirectparts.com and search OEM-Samsung-Focus-S-SGH-I937-Battery-Door
I know I tried that site, but they don't sell to consumers, only repair shops.
I too am looking for the cover and can only find it on the site mentioned above. I contacted the site above and explained my situation and they were basically no help whatsoever. I called Samsung and they said they aren't selling them yet. Please let us know if you happen to find one.
---------- Post added at 10:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:22 AM ----------
I found a repair shop that will sell the cover. It's blueridgewireless .com. They said they'd have to order it and it would take a couple weeks to get to them. It's $35 plus shipping. I'm ordering one today and will let you know how it goes.
There is one on ebay right now for $23 plus shipping!
New OEM black back battery door cover for SAMSUNG FOCUS S i937
Just search for the above, and you'll get right to it.
Good find! I've been searching for the last 2 weeks day in and day out with no luck. I've already ordered mine and should have it in a couple weeks.
Anyone else find more of these or know the ebay seller that had them as I am too looking for a replacement after scratching the battery door on my focus s.
If you contact blueridgewireless.com they can sell you one. I just ordered mine for 35 with 5 shipping and should have it within a couple weeks. Ebay was only there for a few hours and then gone again.
$20+ for a super thin piece of plastic?!
Can someone please share the review of Otterbox commuter for Note 2? I am deciding between Defender and commuter.
Thank you so much!
I should be receiving in the mail any day now, I'll put up a review soon.
Just waiting on a review myself to pull the trigger. My main concern is that the buttons would be hard to press like the ones on the commuter for the Galaxy S3.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 2
can wait, its on my xmas list!
Should be recieving mine also tomorrow. I'll try and post picks too. Defender looks too big imo because the phone is pretty big already.
Btw: ordered the black one through otterbox because I guess they got more in stock.

Sorry I dont have time for a review I am slammed at work. I have the commuter it came yesterday. It is awesome. In my opinion a typical user would not need the Defender and this is PLEANTY fine. It's great. Solid. Rubber lip around front so I can put it face down and not care. Buttons are not hard to push. It gives my GN2 a very solid feel like you can toss it around or toss it on the nightstant (not that we would... but we could with no worries). Pretty easy to put it on and take it off too but just hard enough that the phone aint coming out - no way.
I have 3 other cases. A really thin (TPU is it?) case that is the BARE minimum one can do. I love it but phone is almost naked. I would wear that case in a suit or a tux if packing the phone in the suit or tux pocket. So Ill hang onto that. I also have the Verizon case that has a kickstand built in. I can see using that if going somewhere and I know ill be watching a game at the restaurant, etc. But for a daily solid everyday case, 100% the commuter is your case.
The 4th case is the Body Glove case people were talking about - but not the cool one - the one with the smooth black square. I gotta sell that or give that to someone Ill never use it with the 3 I have now. It's not even taken out of the box lol.
Ill be interested to see the other posts tomorrow when you guys get it. I love it.

My concerns is that the back and side don't seem grippy enough. I love the textured polycarbonate back of Case-Mate's Tough Case because it provides grip. How's the Commuter's back or grippiness?

I just order me a black Commuter case last week on Friday, first they sent me an email talking about they won't charge my account til my order has been processed, then they send me a Invoice stating my account has charged along with a tracking number. I don't know if this means my stuff has shipped or not? Im thinking they have not shipped it yet, they just processed my order (basically took my order) without having a product. I am going to cancel my order and try a similar case until they get the black Commuters back in.

I actually got my GN2 Commuter case 2 days ago and I am returning it. Great case, very solid feel and build. Buttons on the bottom are easy to access, volume and power are easy to press, etc. The reason I am returning is for me it added too much bulk and weight to an already big phone. I haven't shipped it out yet and won't get a chance until Saturday by then the other case I ordered will arrive tomorrow and I can decide which I really want to keep.
For those who already have the case, how do you feel about its weight and additional thickness?

I had ordered mine last Friday as well, it shipped out on Saturday and arrived on Tuesday. I never got an email saying it shipped, but when I checked my order status it said processing and had a tracking # from Fed Ex. It arrived on Tuesday. Sadly I am going to send it back, I just feel its too bulky, though the replacement case I ordered won't be here until tomorrow so I won't return until Saturday once I decide which case I am keeping.
The pita about case shopping is having to buy and possibly return or buy many to get the right one. OtterBox is rock solid and worth the price but I need some level of grip on the case so it doesn't slip out of my hands.
Here's a pretty good deal right now at Walmart.

Hi everyone, I decided to order a few customized back skins for the note 8 from @slickwraps and it looks like they are slammed with orders. Then I read some horrible reviews on this forums and around the net about this "shady" company ... damn, wish I found the reviews before ordering.
Well, it has been only 3 days, but I really hope everything is ok.
Anyone knows of another company where you can upload your own picture to make the back skin for the note 8? I tried with skinit too, but their skins don't have the camera piece. Dbrand doesn't have an option to customize your skin using your own picture.
Decal Girl. https://www.decalgirl.com/make/
I have two of their skins now, one on the phone, one for backup if I feel like changing. They have a huge range of designs, which is why I like them, but I did make a custom skin for my Note 2 years ago from them.

What's with the hostility? You pointed out that dbrand had a bad score and while failing to realize you guys had the same exact score. No where did he say he wanted a refund and instead hoped that things were going to be fine. Why not just prove to him how you guys provide great customer care instead of trying to bash other companies and belittle him at the same time?
dbrand rocks, have ordered multiple times from them, never anything but perfection. I have the dragon skin on my note 8 right now. Also have the black carbon fiber on my S7E. Ordering more for my girls V30 today.
Also search xda for a killer price on a special package, I think it is 2 for one or something. They might still honor it, but if I remember right you have to use the link from xda to get it.

I can see having a bad day but that is a **** move. I would be lying if I said I won't remember this interaction in the future when looking at skins.
Looking at this objectively, I can see where it looks like he was being a bit hasty to resolve whatever issue was at hand. Can you blame him? The whole thread harped on how slow they were supposedly to ship out skins etc. From what I read, he was trying to be somewhat helpful. Everyone needs to stop jumping off the deep end and assuming he's an jerk. Have faith LoL. Don't see anyone on this post with any bad first hand experiences.
I've bought a few slickwraps skins over the years with ZERO issues..

It does feel a little thinner and more flexible; the crosshatch on the back of the Decal Girl skin is thinner than the Dbrand. However, I've had no issues with either being durable. The Decal Girl skin on my Note 2 is still there, in fact, and has stayed put and worn well. Only thing I ever make sure of now is using a hair dryer on low to heat the corners down, and I did the same with the Dbrand on my other phone, otherwise the corners don't always stay down and mold to stick when heated.
I've ordered about half a dozen times from Slickwraps and had had no issues, great skins and quick delivery considering I'm in the UK. However, I ordered a few more skins in their Halloween sale this year and after paying/receiving confirmation of my order, I heard nothing else for five weeks. Considering my previous experiences I did actually contact them after one and then two weeks for an update but got nowhere. Eventually at the fifth week, I emailed and asked for a refund. About five days later I got a very rude email from one of their representatives saying they'd cancelled my order but reluctantly because I should've requested it within two hours of making my original order. How on earth would I have known at that point that I'd have to wait over a month and still be no further with my order, other than them having taken my money? It's ridiculous and not customer friendly at all. I did get my refund though, so was squared in the end but took nearly seven weeks in total for nothing but hassle.
On probability, if they had just apologised and held their hands up to being overwhelmed with orders, I would normally give a company another go as I'd had many more positive experiences with them than negative; but as of the result of the exchange I had with their rep and their terrible attitude towards me as a returning customer, I personally won't use them again now. Another thing I'll add is never pay full price for their skins, it doesn't seem like a month can pass between them have a sale/offer with 30/40/50% off, so be a little patient and your money can go a lot further if you choose to use them (or you might suggest their products are overpriced in the first place if they're willing to discount so frequently).
Personally I now use xtremeskins.co.uk which has excellent quality skins (at least as good as any others I've used over the years) and after three orders are very well priced (the cheapest I've used) and have always delivered within a couple days of order to me. Their range is limited compared to Slickwraps, but still plenty of choice for my tastes.

I have actually ordered several times from both Slickwraps ans DBrand. Never had an issue with either company. Fast shipping from both (though DBrands has always been faster than SW), and quality products.
However, after reading your posts here, @slickwraps, I will move all my business to DBrands. I find it interesting and very telling that you felt it necessary to disparage a competitor rather than standing on your own merits. And your hostility and rudeness to a new customer her on XDA, who you claim to support, is unacceptable. Bad day or not. Shows how very little you care about customer service.

My lord, people are super sensitive here. I didn't see any "disparagement" to anyone here, in fact he offered personal help for his order. Sure his wording left much to be desired, but the hurt feelings over this is just humorous. Of course you are free to order from whomever you like.

@slickwraps immediately started disparaging a competitor, DBrand in their reply. There was no need for that. If SlickWraps is so great, then they don't need to post negative comments about their competitors. SlickWraps product and customer sercice SHOULD speak for itself.
As far as their reply to the OP, it did come across as rude, but tone is lost in text. Maybe they meant well. I would have rather they replied with something along the lines of explaining they are determined to make the OP happy and will be sure to ship ASAP. Offering to cancel and insulting a competitor all because the OP expressed a concern seems extreme.
I also not that @slickwraps has not returned to this thread to apologize or offer an explanation or do anything..at all...to calm the feelings here. Maybe they don't need the business and don't care about lost business. So be it. If I owned a business and felt my customers were unhappy or were insulted by something I said, I would do my best to make amends. Especially in a community that can make or break my business, a community I claim to support.
But, it none of my business how SlickWraps treats their custoner base. And my business is no longer SlickWraps' business. A simple apology would have prevented them losong customers here.
Why wouldn't I buy somewhere else where I can get equal or better quality, competitive pricing, and a business who treats their customers like they actually WANT their business.
Of course, you can also spend your money wherever you like.
