Are there any apps out there that allow for rule-based management/organization of SMS messages?
Specifically, I'd like to have a whitelist of users that can send messages that conform to some rule, which triggers some sort of event. Ideally, I'd like to be able to somehow parse the SMS message to add data to another program on the phone (or for simplicity's sake, add an entry to the task list). I figure if the program I'm looking for can simply export the message as a file to a directory on the phone, I can easily write a quick and dirty little app that simply monitors that directory for new files, parses them, puts the data where it needs to go, and then deletes the file.
I've read about SMSOrganizer/SMSCreative, but was hoping someone out there knew of some other options I haven't yet discovered. Oh yeah...and if the solution's free, then all the better!
Out of the box, the Aria limits ringtones to 300k, forcing you to tirm them down. By moving to MixZing (free on the market) you can have ringtones without having to trim them. I use a few for individual contacts, and once you tell the phone you want this file as a ringtone, you can then assgn it to any contact you have on the phone.
Or....you can use something on your computer to slice up the mp3 (audacity) and just put it on your SD card with no limit. I have several on my phone that are .6 - .8 mb.
If you put them on the SD card be sure to store them in a folder named ringtones so that they show up.
If you want new sounds for text messages put them in a folder called notifications.
Looks like AT&T might be turning off this limitation.

Hi
I just deleted by accident a whole thread of text messages.
I know I can't recover the text messages as a nice thread back on my phone.
What I am trying to do however is to access *all* of the internal memory.
Make some sort of raw dump of the whole internal memory (where text messages are stored as well) and browse it with a hex editor in the hope of finding pieces of my text messages with my gf.
Is it possible ? are there better solutions ?
Thanks
I have no idea if this is possible or not, but if you value your text messages so much, you should seriously consider using an app such as SMS Backup to backup all your messages to gmail automatically, like I do.
I am aware I had to back up and how to do it... but I just wanted to know how I could access *all* of the internal drive of my phone even the supposed 'free' space... ?

All you have to do is search for airdroid on Google Play. Anyway, here it is.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid
One other thing I'd add about AirDroid is that it works perfectly with Ubuntu, which is a problem when trying to transfer files over USB when running CM10. (The file transfer just doesn't work right on the ROM with Linux OS's)
It's not quite as fast as a drag and drop using a file explorer would be if it worked with Ubuntu. But it works properly.
There are other options that do the same thing that AirDroid does. (Just search for Wifi File Explorer or Wifi File Transfer). But AirDroid definitely has the easiest to use UI with the most options. I put it on my phone too as soon as I tried it out on my Galaxy Tab.
Whatsapp Extractor Pro in Playstore
Available for only 1.99€ at Google-Play
What is this app used for?
Have you ever tried to share Whatsapp Messages and made a screenshot, censored and edited it, resent it, whatever.
Have you ever wanted to share all your Whatsapp Messages or just single Messages via Email, Facebook, Twitter, Viber, whatever?
Now this app is for you. It will allow you do extract all Messages straight on your device. It will decrypt crypted backups on a non-rooted device or the uncrypted full database on a rooted device.
It will restore thumbnails, let you allow to choose your own database (for moving from one to another device) and it will allow you to get DAILY reports via email.
This means that you can set up an interval and get (for example) all 12 hours the full database via email.
If you just want to try it out in a very lite Version use Whatsapp Extractor Lite
Modify Database
Is it possible to modify database?? When restoring whatsapp it automatically take your profile picture which is used previously as well as your display name by itself. Can it is possible to change if it is stored in database so that one can alter it and can change profile picture without altering last seen status.
