I have a micro USB SD card reader for my S7E that I check trail cam pics with. I put the micro to usb-c adapter on the reader and plugged it into my Note 8.... nothing happened. Am I missing something here or do I need a usb-c card reader? TIA

Hopefully someone in the higher eschalons is either already thinking about this or designing.
Something ideal for these devices, would be a case with built-in micro USB connector to the device, with either a standard USB connector on the case including a grove/cut out for a stick to sit flush(ish) or even better..... a built in micro SD slot.
Is this already in the making and what's others thoughts?

This is actually a very cool idea. It would be nice to have a case with built in micro USB to micro SD slot.

If anyone is interested in using an SD card instead of a micro SD you can buy the KZ-B19-065 (SD to Micro SD FPC Extender). I dont know if it will fit the regular case but it does work with the extended battery cover. You can find this adapter at M-Factors Storage or Amazon.
I have used a 128GB SD card with no problems.
Pics please

Hi,
I want to buy a USB 3.0 Memory Card Reader. I have searched and found some good card readers from reputable brands. Which one should I choose from the list below?
Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader (TS-RDF8K): http://goo.gl/i8uEIw
Kingston Mobilelite G4 USB 3.0 (FCR-MLG4) Card Reader: http://goo.gl/16xLD5
Anker USB 3.0 Multi-Purpose Card Reader: http://goo.gl/ZMUwek
Circle Rootz USB 3.0 All in one Card Reader: http://goo.gl/W8FCXJ
Silicon Power SPC39V1W Card Reader: http://goo.gl/H931i5
If anyone has other suggestions then please let me know (links will be helpful) (Indian online marketplaces only). And I live in India hence all the links are from Indian online marketplaces. I'm not sure about the last two card readers from Circle Rootz and Silicon Power. Thanks.
Anyone?
Hi all,
I have searched this Q & A thread and have found nothing. Many of us Note 4 owners probably had SD cards. I would like to know if any of the current USB OTG card readers are compatible with the Note 5. I'd like to be able to access content on my sd cards without having to use a computer...
Thanks for any help.
I am using an OTG cable with a usb micro sd card reader and it works perfectly. Can't say about specific micro usb card readers. I am going to get a Meenova Dash when black is back in stock at Amazon.
I have one that works, but the end won't completely mount into the phone with my case on. Is there any OTG cable that's a normal size?

if its a cheap otg cable with rubber insulation, just get an x-acto knife and trim down the housing to fit. (that's what I did with mine to fit my S4 case)
If not, I highly recommend this.

When I try to read my SDHC card on my Galaxy Note 5 the phone automatically over-writes my card with a bunch of empty Android folders? My pictures are gone and when I plug the card into a computer I get a message saying card is corrupt, would I like to repair...
