[Solved] Nova launcher status bar bug on MIUI - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Questions & Answers

Status bar icons in nova launcher or pixel launcher don't change to black in miui, anyone else facing this issue and know a solution?
Note: I've tried clearing data, even turned on dark icons from nova settings but it doesn't work.
Update: Issue is fixed in MIUI 9.

Use a different theme, may be it be solved. using Nova, didn't face that though. Also update to latest build.

@FixerZ It's the latest and changing themes doesn't affect status bars. Post a screenshot of your app drawer if it's not white on white status bar icons for you.

No one?

No solution
I face the same problem in miui 8.
i tried it in miui 9 and the problem is not there.
i think the problem is with miui 8 only.

I found the solution... Open Nova setting..App and widget drawer and enable tab bar

Hi ronak, enabling the tab bar as you say doesn't solve the problem for me (Nova Prime, MIUI 8.5.3.0 GLOBAL STABLE under Mi5s) are you sure you get changing icon colours in the status bar? It looks like MIUI and Nova don't communicate in terms of changing the status bar icons to black: if you try to turn the option on under Settings -> Look&Feel, they stay white.
The only workarounds I know so far are:
- disabling the transparent bar under Look&Feel, though you get a "pre-lollipop" black bar look.
- App&Widget drawer -> Card Background ON. You'll get a transparent dark shade under the status bar and instead of the full screen white background.
- using a dark colour for the drawer background.
I'd rather have a proper fix though. I suspect it should come from MIUI, they have quirky standards for their status bar and notification shade, I'd rather see it in line with AOSP guidelines.

The guy is saying it's fixed in MIUI 9 so let's hope it's true.

Same in Samsung
Happens same in Samsung Experience (Nougat)
Was not happening in Marshmallow. I believe its a Nougat compatibility with Nova, which MIUI 9 has rectified somehow.

sorry I don't do metamorphs
added pendo's blue transparent market to doc icon theme
Can U tell me how I can made notification transparent?
Thanks
It's the same metod like Nexus one?
Looks great. Thanks.
I have a quick questions tho.
If I open the browser the bar goes white (I'm assuming because the background is also white) making it impossible to read the clock. Is there any way to change the clock's font color?

thank you. yes... but this will soon be an easy option in cm7 (cm settings). so a quick workaround while in the browser is to pull down the status bar 1/2 inch to check time

Stock Red, Green and Grey Themes by Bazar617 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215291
Welcome to my completely overhauled v3, and now v4, StockRed & StockGreen & StockGrey for Tiamat HammerHead (2.1.0) and Tiamat MORAY (2.2.0), just for 3.2. This theme uses the completely bone/vanilla stock images of the Android Honeycomb system, just themed to their respective colors. I went this route because for the time being I like the looks of the icons, I just hated the baby blue and pale green. If you agree with me, and you like red or green, then you'll like these themes.
Icons, Boot animation and even other mods(like UA Strings and no clock)

What I've Done:
replaced the back / home / multitask / options icons on the navigation bar, the Wifi / Battery icons in the notification area, and the Apps / + icons on the top right of the launcher, with the icons from the GalaxyTab 10.1 Touchwiz UX Theme. They are all very similar to the stock icons, but don't have a glow effect on them.
removed the blue glow & outlines from the popups around the notification area. Also, removed the transparency in these popups, and coloured the top one a dark grey.
removed the blue glow & outline from the program tiles in the multitasking popup.
replaced the settings background, where there used to be a blue glow, with a single-colour image in dark greyThis also had the unintended but pleasant side effect of replacing the background on the browser bookmarks window , and in some programs like File Manager HD . I guess they all use the same image that I changed in the framework-res.apk file.
replaced the calendar background, from white with the two blue glowing ellipses, to a subtle white to grey gradient.
changed the clock font on the notification bar, notification popup, and lockscreen with an Arial font. There is a slight alignment problem with the lockscreen, where a tiny portion of the left side of the first digit is cropped, and I can't seem to fix it.

Color hex code (for any custom settings) : #00CC00 (#FF00CC00)
AOKP Users
Settings > Rom Control : No icons are themed. I originally based the update off CM10. I've been able to flash it and will be updating for AOKP-specific items soon (including the Rom Control icon in the home settings screen), just need some time to get everything situated for it
To make everything green, you have to manually set these options (until I find out if I can set them via the theme...)
Settings > Rom Control > Navigation Bar > "Navigation bar glow color" : change hex to #FF00CC00 > Set > [click the color in the right box just above where you entered the hex]
You don't need to change "Navigation bar color", I already did that, even though it looks white in settings
CircleMod images will be coming in the next update.
Battery Bar enabled? Same as the first bullet, change hex code to #FF00CC00
Toggles: Icon toggle style will be updated. Text toggle style : change "Toggle Text Color" and "Enabled Indicator Color" to hex : #FF00CC00
Stock Launcher will be updated as well.
If you see anything that I missed and did not cover in this list, please let me know!!
Issues / Soon to be Fixed
AOKP > Settings > Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Battery icon style > (Set to) Text Only : If you use this, it will be blue, because it changes depending on the charge status and level. Still looking in to whether I have power to change that via a theme. If not, it's something AOKP needs to change at the Rom level.
(Codename) : Volume Slider and Keyboard hide icon (Thanks Sardo Numspa!)

I've updated the OP with some things missing in the AOKP Rom, as well as custom settings you have to change to match the theme in Rom Control. Since I based the update on CM10, there will be some things missing in other Roms, I have listed them at the bottom of the OP (such as Codename as well. Thanks Sardo Numspa!). If you come across any issues, please let me know! (Screenshots would be great!)
Thanks!
thanks for the update, i'll give it a try this afternoon.
My bad, I should chose my words a little more carefully... I updated the OP *to add the list* of things for AOKP... I have fixed the circle battery and Rom Control icons, going to take a look at Codename to see if I can make that fix before releasing an updated apk. I'll let you know when I've updated the app (and not just the OP). Sorry for any confusion.
no worries. thanks for the sweet themes.
Sardo are you still on Codename? Do you still have the volume progress issues? I looked at cna's source and it matches CM10 and AOKP for that part. I know it sounds n00bish, but did you try a reboot after applying the theme (sometimes I need to do that for the full theme to take effect).

yep, rebooted a few times. on the volume slider, the speaker on the left is green/red, the slider is green/red, the settings button is green/red, but the gap between the speaker and the slide is blue.

Black Navigation bar possible?

Hey everyone,
I just got my Mi Mix and noticed on the HOME SCREEN, the navigation bar on the bottom is transparent/black - but when you go INTO an application (likes Whatsapp or Reddit), the nav bar turns WHITE.
It's a bit annoying because i use a dark theme on the Reddit is fun app, so the nav bar just sticks out hugely
Does anyone know a way to keep the navigation bar transparent or black permanently through all apps ? Or is there a free theme on the Mi store that people have good luck with?
Thanks!
if you root and install xposed it is easy to change it to whatever you want.
first thing i'll do when/if this phone ever arrives is install xposed and get rid of the nav bar all together and only use pie controls, makes things much easier on a big phone as well

thanks for the suggestion but I didn't bother unlocking and rooting this thing. I guess i just dont have as much time as before to tinker around anymore. Is there a way to do it without rooting?
@Bakedbread
Try Emoji Color Navbar in the Google Play Store.
Just loaded it up to get the navigation bar to be black system wide (color is fully customizable) ,no root required.
Edit:
Seems to be persistent only on the home screen & YMMV on other apps, sorry 'bout that.

Go into settings and buttons and select hide nav then it will be come transparent
On homescreen it seems to be transparent, some applications are able to change it to black (or according to the app's color), but in settings and most apps it stays white unfortunately.

Did anyone find a decent way round this without root?
You have to unlock the device [bootloader], root it and then modify some files to make these options available. Xpose has a module that does these things too, still requires bootloader unlock and root.
What's the name of the xposed?
Flat Style Colored Bars seems to be able to make this job... can adapt color based on main color or you can assign a primary color persistent...
I usee to version designed to adapt google keyboard on main color of each apps... wonderfull

It doesn't make fully transparent, actually tints the nav bar to get matching the color of background app which feels like transparent. But either way looks better than black bg.
Im done with nav bar since I found Smart touch button app though; resizeable, personalizable(icon, transparency), can be placed everywhere, lots of gestures and holding less place on the screen.

Navigation Bar

Has anyone had any luck theming and/or replacing the miui navigation bar with an aosp navigation bar? The miui navigation bar drives me nuts with its bright colors over dark backgrounds, weird button spacing, button symbols that don't match aosp, and not being transparent when using non-miui launchers.
Xposed + flat style colored color bars and u will be able to pimp color and match 'always" with theme app color...

No. I thinks Perfect Color bar is better. Flat Style will give fc if you using dual app or second space. And searching some theme about cyanogen or stock android on theme store (i forgot the name). It will change your nav bar button.

As they've adviced, background coloring can be done by Perfect color bar xposed module(better one) also if you want to change buttons(as an overlay) xStana module does the job, lots of buttons that you can find similar one with Aosp(also tints the color or makes transparent background). But the thing is if you're willing to flash xposed and if the Xstana works on nougat:
