I am bored with my tab s2 t710 csc xar kinda and want to do something new.
First I want to install magisk on my non rooted tab s2 Knox warranty void 0x0. So I installed magical manager from there can I install magisk??
Also rooting worth it and will the tab s2 get any more updates??
Plus what are the best custom roms available on tab s2 t710
You should first make a system backup via TWRP in case something goes south!
Also, what do you need root for?

So I recently purchased the AT&T S6 Edge and it's my first Samsung phone. I have previously used Motorola devices ranging from the OG Droid, the Bionic and both 1st and 2nd gen Moto X. I've also rooted, installed custom roms and such on these devices. I am considering rooting my S6 Edge however there are a few things I am curious about before I do so.
From what I've read so far I can currently use FlashFire to install custom rom's but it doesn't replace the kernel as the bootloader is locked. I also understand I'd have to use ODIN to get back to stock if I want to get back on the update track.
If I root the device and install say a 5.1.1 rom (when one is eventually created) will I be able to flash either kernel or modem updates through ODIN? or will I have to stick with the current kernel and modem? Would this work but trip Knox? Does installing a rom via flashfire trip Knox?
When the 5.1.1 ODIN image is released for my phone, would wiping the device and installing it via ODIN have any advantages to say installing the update and doing a factory reset?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Hi all,
I am used to rooting and modding all my Android phones ever since the original Galaxy S in 2010.
But now with all the tight security and anti-root bull**** from Samsung, I am afraid to mess up trying to root my international S7 (930F).
Just want to avoid bricking and also very importantly, losing Oculus VR functionality or access to the apps and games from the official store.
But I really want to root to be able to remove all bloat from the system to run VR smoothly.
Any advice or even better, directions?
Marshmallow 6.0.1 is installed.
Should I just follow the official instructions on the TWRP website to have it installed using Odin, then simply download CF-root and flash it?
Any important details to avoid bricking?
Thank you!
I'he rooted my s7 edge with install of TWRP and installed custom rom TekXnesis Hybrid and all work like a charm. GearVr works great! (it's in rom features).
I have a S7 Edge with stock Rom rooted with CF auto-root and VR runs like a charm.
Hi community,
I have two Samsung devices with Samsung stock ROM:
Galaxy S5 (SM-G901F)
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition WiFi (SM-P600)
Can I install Magisk on both devices from Magisk-Manager without flasging TWRP and without triggering KNOX?
You can install Magisk through the Manager if you're already rooted, otherwise you'll need a custom recovery. From what I've seen reported in this forum, I think it'll trip KNOX, but since I don't do Samsung I'm not sure.
I'd go with the assumption that it does until you can confirm otherwise. Check the Samsung forums...
Thanks. If I need root or a custom recovery KNOX ever will be 0x1.
So I think we can close this thread.
Hi guys
I've done a successfully root with Magisk. I would like to know if there is a way to update my Samsung Galaxy S8 Exynos with Samsung's software? When trying to download via OTA, it says that my phone is modified in an unauthorized way (ofcourse), but I'd like to know if there is a way for me to get updates installed on my device.

You won't be able to take an OTA with a modified boot image and/or custom recovery (which I'm assuming you have installed). You'll have to do all your updates manually. Of course this is Samsung we're talking about and they don't do normal... Better to ask in the S8 forums.
Been out of the flashing game for a while (last device was an S4)
I'm wanting to start modding my Galaxy S8, but before I do I'm wanting to do a full firmware backup to restore to if things go wrong, or if I sell the device on.
Ideally I'd like to be able to restore to the point where the next user wouldn't recognise its been flashed other than the tripped knox flag (ie original recovery, modem, bootloader, the lot)
Also.. Samsung Pay. I've read about fake knox flag, does this enable Samsung Pay? Do I need to be rooted to do this? Can I flash from my backup (ie to original) and get Samsung Pay back?
Can anyone point me in the direction of a rock solid guide for this?

If you have an s8, you are in the wrong thread.
You can download stock filmware files from Sammobile or Updato, which can then be flashed with Odin.
Samsung Pay will never, ever work after tripping Knox.
Flashing stock filmware is not enough, it will take a motherboard replacement due to the Efuse, google pay should work though with Magisk or relocking to bootloader.
