What is the best Video format and all the info for it for Captivate? I have messed around with handbrake and a few other converters and am really not sure what the best format is.
I am thinking of ripping to MPEG4 (.mp4) but I want to get the maximum resolution for the captivate phone screen. I have read that it does 720p which is 1280 x 720 resolution if I am not mistaken? Then what bitrate? How about the audio? I know that the captivate supports 5.1 but only through headphones correct? So here is what I am thinking:
Ripping MP4 at 1280 x 720 resolution
xvid
2500 bitrate
Audio AAC 44100 at 128KB 2 channel
Will this work and is this the best resolution? I am going to be mainly ripping DVDs and converting them to watch on my phone.
what is the exact screen resolution of your captivate!
that resolution would be optimal....

So 480 x 800 but what about the other settings? Bitrate, etc?
I have read that the captivate can play 720p video, but 720p is 1280 x720 right? So does this not make a difference seeing as the screen resolution is lower?
it can play 720 hell 1080 it just gets resized to 800x480
can i change the resolution from 240x320 to 320x480 and make all image fit on the display?? like you do un ubuntu for example...

Max resolution supported by Galaxy mini is 240x320,if you change to 320x480 for sure will not fit with your display.
On Ubuntu the example that you took ,your lcd or crt supports a max resolution of 1080p(as example),lets say you can switch between 1080p and 720p,if you switch to a higter resolution will not work for sure.
i managed to changed the lcd density at least i now have more space on my screen

Why do people mess with things when they clearly don't have a clue, it's beyond me.
Did you just change the PPI to like 300?

i change resolution to 1280*720 and ppi to 320 with Display Scaler app
this is very strange, just bought mi mix 256GB version and checked screen resolution on many apps, cpuz, antutu and others, all report same resolution 1080x1920, so how to understand that? it must be higher.
CPU-Z says 1080x2040 for me. Antutu says 1920x1080 during the Garden demo but I suspect that's what it would say for any non-standard (i.e not 16:9) HD display. I'm sure it would report 2560x1440 for the S8/G6, even though they're actually 2880x1440.
Take a screenshot and check the properties of the file. It should say the screen resolution.

Try changing it through resolution apps. For example this one : Screen Shift: Customize your display. More details at http://aravindsagar.github.io/ScreenShift/

No,, you can't capture 4k videos or pics by just changing there false to true.

Dont be silly. 4k or any camera resolution capability is directly related to the soc used. In this case 1080p is the max camera resolution it can get with sd 435. So no point in enabling it.
