Hi all,
I've got a quick question on which I could not find a proper answer. I'm running a MTCD unit and installed Viper4Android on it this works fine on Bluetooth the Music player and so on but the radio will remain default and have not audio processing is there a fix for this?
I'd like to use Viper4Android on the FM radio as well?
Thanks
This has baffled me as well but I think its because the radio signal isnt coming from the radio itself, its a external source. Thats my theory anyway & prolly completely wrong lol
Same problem here this would be great!
Found on another thread that the radio chip is not talking to the Android OS but rather directly to the sound chip hence V4A does not process the sound but after all I listen to USB or Spotify 99% of the times

I don't see anything in the market under "root" that enables A2DP....
me neither??????
A2DP
has been enabled sice 1.5... I've been using it with headphones and a stereo gateway for awhile now w/ no problems... unless I'm misunderstanding your question. If so, please explain.
Re-Asking Question for better understanding
Okay lemme re-ask the question with more specific way ahaha. Does anyone know any hack for Android Cupcake, T-Mobile G1, ROOTED, that can enable Bluetooth Streaming through a Bluetooth headset that isn't a stereo Bluetooth just a mono ear (the ones you use for talking and listening with one ear)?

I was using Bluetooth to stream Tunewiki music to my Jaybird stereo bluetooth headset on the latest JACMytouchSkiv2.0. I can't imagine why that build wouldn't work with a regular bluetooth headset like your asking.......
Nandroid backup your current build, wipe and flash this one and see what happens. Probably the only real way to find out.
hahaha........ my bad
I had a dumb moment sorry everyone. I miss read the initial question. So sorry I though he was asking for a Bluetooth to send data. Lol I feel so dumb. Sorry everyone my mistake
it's alrite lol but yea ima gonna try jacmytouchski took me long to download because my computer is soo slow ahaha
okay i tried the tunewiki with jacmytouchskiv.2.0 didn't work with my motorola h15 headset i don't what to do
I've only tried out Cyanogen's and Dude's builds and both support A2DP fine. Granted there were small issues with skipping and that but Cyanogen patched it so it works. Try out his latest STABLE build and give it a go.
i'm thinking this is a problem with bluetooth profiles. You'd need something configured to allow media streaming to the headset profile. If you go into your motorola h15 options in bluetooth settings you should see there is no option to stream media audio to the headset, thereby eliminating the possibility to do so.
You could go out and buy a new headset that supports A2DP (downmixed to mono), otherwise, anything short of some kind of profile hack will limit your possibilities.
here's a headset that does what you want: http://store.androidguys.com/productAccessories.asp?id=15456&t=d
Could be the headset yeah... I've only tested the bluetooth A2DP on two devices, one is a phillips stereo headset and another is a jabra something (mono) as its my dads.
I think though he was saying that he was getting zero music going to his headset though rather than only from the left/mono channel?
All the builds that support A2DP are in the ROM database so try some of those....

Hi There,
I would like to throw sugestion or request (if someone already found it) for application which can replace external FM transmeter.
I am noob to this, but was wondering if our radio can do Wifi Router kind of thing than what about FM Waves?? Is it possible release fm waves so we can play music on phone through car's FM Radio or other FM radio?
I am sorry if this sounds silly question or request.
Thanks.
bro !
a hardware is needed to do this action n it is not ANY related to wifi !
Hey apex,
Thanks for information.
hey man! but the raphael and diamond have FM receivers! maybe modding software can convert it to FM transmitter!

good point, but it's not true
how you know that its not true? nobody tried that! maybe its only to revert the process of receiving RF signals
You need to have the hardware send fm signals. Our phones don't have the right hardware to do that.
Big fan of ya'll for a long time... Just decided to sign up and ask a question:
I installed CM7 for the first time, mainly because I wanted FM Radio on my N1. I'm disappointed to find out that the sound comes out from only one channel (right side, mono only, no matter what the setting).
I researched heavily but couldn't find a similar post. Am I the only one experiencing the FM Radio sound coming out of only one earphone?
BTW, all other features are working perfectly...
My radio is 5.08
hboot is fully updated
I'm using one of the CM7 nightly after the RC1
Thanks!

I don't know whether it provides stereo or not as I don't listen to music at all when I turn on radio. But I do have sound from both sides.

Thanks for your feedback... Definitely, the issue is that I'm getting sound out of one side (right earphone) only... I tried multiple headphones, including the original N1 headset... All the same, sound comes out of one side...
Not sure what the issue is. As I mentioned, I researched a lot and no one seems to have this problem... Everything else on the phone runs perfectly.
bump
Still, after format and full wipe, re-installed CM7 RC2, and FM Radio still comes out of one (right) earphone.
Working great here. Audio is coming out in stereo. If you click menu in the Radio app, then settings, under audio output mode there is a setting for stereo or mono.

I've tried everything... Nothing seems to work, sound still comes out of right earphone only...
I'm still baffled as everything else on the phone works perfectly... I've wiped (data, dalvik) and formatted partitions, fresh installed the ROM... Still the same issue... It must then be a hardware issue... My radio is 5.08... Does that make a difference??
Just want to be sure, did you test playing music through the normal music player? And both sides work through that?

oh yes, definitely! Sound from music player is perfect, can't ask for better... I even tried different sets of earphones, including the stock N1 earpieces... As I said, everything on the phone is working perfectly except for the FM Radio... I don't even get the wonks everyone is complaining about.
I know this is a hopeless case as I seem to be the only one with this problem...
Did another full wipe (system + dalvik), plus formatted the partitions... installed CM7 rc3, fresh and clean... Still, I can only hear the FM Radio sound coming out of the right earphone...
Oh well, I'm figuring it must be a driver/hardware issue... Since it's basically the bluetooth unit transmitting the sound, maybe my N1's BT is purely mono (or somehow stuck on mono (?))...
I believe I have found an issue with the latest (stable + nightlies) cyanogen mod rom with Bluetooth headset audio, and before I go about posting to the Dev thread I wanted to get some help with understanding how or what info a need to gather.
I have a car stereo that has support for Bluetooth (both media and voice), and whilst the phone syncs to the unit and plays music just fine, when trying to place a call, all that can be heard is a loud buzzing when the call is connected (@ both ends).
The stereo is functioning correctly, and works fine for both voice and media with my SGS2 (also running cyanogen). I also have the same model stereo in another car, and the problem manifests on this unit too.
Prior to flashing cyanogen I was using other roms (both standard and mod's) and never had any issues with voice calls.
I have tried changing the baseband, and ril but this had not made any difference. I have also paired with other headsets and they work fine, so this is down to some compatibility issue with the stereo and Cyanogen's Bluetooth stack settings, I think.
Before posting this as a bug, is there anything else I should try, and if not what info do I need to gather (other than version numbers etc) to ensure I give the dev's enough info to work with?
Thanks
If it's in stable, use the issue tracker.
