As you know, there are a lot of firmware for our device. and in this post I would like to discuss together with other users what kind of firmware is the best, in terms of stability and power consumption. If you have information on good firmware EUI / CUSTOM firmware on the basis of androyd 7 and above, then share with us your experience of using the firmware and discuss them together. Let's make our device better !
There are no EUI based on Android 7.
But there is good custom ROMs on Android 7: LOS14, CarbonROM, AICP
I use Carbon on my X527, it works best.
And I cant say there are lots of ROMs for Le 2
EUI 5.026S
Custom RR

This is purely based on my experience and opinion. I have used every single rom for our device from xda. The rom that adore most is the huawei noughat emui b336. pure speed and optimised battry life is wonderfull a device working eith every functionality is what you get. when comparing with cm13 and 14 builds its much more stable and reliable. i was on oem c636 flashed c432 europe and flashed noughat from meticulus twrp emui4.1.
Cool. Though at this point one might aswell just wait for OTA nougat
I don't dare to install Lineage or Cm13 because I want a stable phone. I previously asked in another thread which problems the Lineage OS has. I could not find the Log File of Meticulus which shows the problems. Maybe someone can tell some problems of lineage os so the decision of installing it would be easier. Thanks a lot.

I tried Lineage and had a bootloop because of substratum themes...after that i flashed RR build and i`m very happy with it. The battery life is not extraordinary...5h SOT. For my needs it`s very good...no big bugs or something like this...
Again for my needs I can say that it`s pretty stable...
At the moment, stock is best. EMUI4.1 at that. Give it another 2 months or so, by then we should have stable custom roms, that being said, try the Paranoid Android ROM, it's good but has some bugs with dual SIM unless otherwise stated by the developer in the thread.

that would be awesome, but i think custom roms won't be much more stable unless huawei releases their source code
At this point , stock rom is the best. Unfortunately because Huawei has not released and i do belive will not realease the sources for this model , all custom roms based all on Lineage OS or AOSPA will have bugs and high battery usage, without hope of real solving...because the code is always changing and as some problems are apparently solved other will rise up.
You're a power user. Can the LeEco Le 2 keep up? Rate this thread to express how "healthy" the development scene is for the LeEco Le 2. A higher rating indicates available root methods, kernels, and custom ROMs.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Yes we have so many good devs for this beast and the one man army codeworkx also.
we have awesome developer only major roadblock is leeco itself they neither are releasing any updates nor releasing IR blaster and camera blobs.
@codeworkx is one man army and he is the only hope for lineage sources .
Yes, we have very good developer support but without camera and IR blaster fix it is not worth to switch to custom ROMs also lineage doesn't have real nougat UI instead its old marshmallow UI
Hoping to get a fully functional ROM is future.
Xlent devs and community
Owning a Le Eco Le S2, and a Pro3 I can attest that both Lineage OS and Paranoid Android are fairly stable.
Some small issues on the S2, as mentioned above. Though it was a daily driver on LOS 14.1 for about a month with only a couple crashes, both times phone would freeze while making a call, on Bluetooth, via voice prompts with Android Auto open. So it's very much an edge case.
S3 X626 compatibility
This is compatible with the one indicated S3 X626
or have a forum or open topics of which S3
I want to know about rom and pre-installed applications
example I found that the fast battery was getting hot and freezing
I saw that application (com.letv.android.personalized) had a CPU consumption of 88%
every time I start the force close application Custom Service
in this way I get it to work well
in the same way I would like to know about pre-installed applications and know which ones I can eliminate
thanks
Some of the post above are out of date. Yes, there are many options for the L2 and all of its Snapdragon variations EX: X5** Series. My kids both have the X522 and are using custom roms without any issue to speak of. Currently they are both using Lineage one is using 15.1 and the other is using Codeworks 14.1. At this time, I would recommend Codeworks version.

You seem to have dabbled with custom ROMS on this device. My question is, have you found a good/working fix for the glaring shortcomings of most custom Nougat and Oreo ROMS. I'm talking about the camera problems in N ROMS and encryption issues in Oreo ROMS. There are Pie ROMS out now but I can't pull the trigger on anything other than stock or stock-based ROMS because my phone is a daily driver.

My personal phones are X727's both using Pie as daily drivers, with te Arnova Pixel Mod Gcam.
My daughter has a X522 with Lineage 15.1 Oreo, My Son still using dotOS Oreo, both with ATT service, and is using the Arnova Pixel ported Camera - no issues as daily drivers. Stock does not compare to these new Roms. We haven't installed Pie on my kids phones yet. but it is my understanding that it is very stable.
If you try a newer Rom, Use firmware by Codeworks, and avoid the issues that so many with a X5XX seem to have with GPS, WIFI and mobile.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lineageos-on-leeco/files/firmware/ ( Your phone is the S2)
Flash your TWRP ( for your device) Rom of Choice, Gapps Nano, Latest Magisk, Flash Firmware
Finished Boot to system and go through setup.

Thanks. My le 2 just arrived. I think I'll try every stable(ish) custom ROM out there and settle on one. I really haven't used any Nougat or Oreo phone so I have little to compare my Marshmallow to. Guess I'll just try them out to see the new features and if I find a stable enough one, I'll stick with it. But stability always trumps fancy features that I might use once a fortnight.

Again, I haven't tried Pie on the Le 2 yet ( we have X522's - you may not be aware that X522, X526 etc are all the same phone) I would start with Pie. IF PIE ( android 9.0) performs nearly as well on your device as it does for the Le Pro 3, it will be the one you like the most.
Pie, is stable, beautiful, has amazing battery life etc.
Enjoy

Yeah, I'm taking Stock EUI for a day's ride and thereafter try two EUI-based ROMS then I'm off to pie. There's one particular version that's very actively being developed so I'll probably land there first.

Loved the support given by the devs. They have created s o many beautiful roms. Devs are kind and always ready to help. Great support.
As the s2 gets older and older, devs are gradually abandoning it. It's Glory days are over and just a handful of devs are still making ROMs for this device and maintaining them. Also afaik, only overload kernel is the kernel still being actively developed. Development on all other kernels have seized. It's painful to see the community slowly die but that's the harsh reality.

I recommend to use NITROGEN OS 8.1.0 cause it´s very stable.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-4x/development/rom-nitrogen-os-redmi-4xsantoni-t3738083
Ive used almost every oreo rom I dont find many difference, every rom has own features but its quite similar its my personal opinion I find all of them almost same in performance and battery backup

Sorry I can´t say. In my device before santoni I was on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, but with santoni I wasn´t satisfied with it. So I stayed at first on Miui Xiaomi.eu 9 but not really satisfied too. With new oreo roms I changed to NITROGEN OS 8.1.0. That´s my way on santoni device...
For Oreo: Its NOS
For Nougat: It's Dot.OS
You must try Invicta OS rom, it's very smooth and stable.
Before this I tried Nitrogen OS (stable) but after reboot finger print didn't work, rest were fine.
Go ahead and try Invicta OS.
Use cardinal aosp rom. Best performance, better battery backup in comparrision of other Oreo roms.
Cardinal aosp is the best Oreo ROM for redmi 4 santoni. Everything is good in this rom. It also supports OTA updates and thanks for the developer for making an awesome rom.
What oreo rom have more customisation than others ?

Well I am using Aosp extended Oreo. Although I am facing problems with root. But the smoothness and stability is good. You won't get the same battery life as you get on miui but it's actually not bad.
You can try it out. I am quite satisfied with it but it might affect you if you need root access.
for me pixel experience.
I am new to moding on mi max 2.
My question is :
What are the advantages of flashing an AOSP-based rom like the unofficial lineageos versions posted here which are in beta in contrast with something like epicrom which is miui global-dev based with added features and customizations on top (and arguably more stable) ?
(also I have to install gapps, root and pretty much everything manually. And I also won't have over the air updates like some miui based Roms offer, so I have to come here and wipe everything to flash a newer version)
Please enlighten me if you have made comparisons yourself and know the differences.

First and the very important, battery life. Lineage OS wipes out Miui when it comes to battery life.
Personal Opinion
In my experience people flash custom roms like lineage os because they either want to give a new look to there phone experience or for the latest security patches or the stock firmware for there phone doesnt include the features they want
yep, nicely summed up
looks / UI, security patches, newer android version (miui is still on 7.1.1), features, battery life, having something "custom" on your phone

Hi I just got a new Redmi 4x and finally managed to unlock it. What Custom ROMs are best in terms of battery life and stability? Oreo or otherwise?
I think best oreo roms are AOSP Extended 5.3 and Nitrogen OS
I'm aware of the latest Oreo roms and I know recently Xiaomi has released the source code for the santoni phone but still no rom is perfect, specially the Oreo ones, so I'm looking for the closest aosp/stock experience I can get with full compatibility, I think a nougat based rom will do fine but wich one?
I'm planning to install a rom, install greenify, have a good battery life, have more free space and still have full camera, gps and other compatibility with no issues.
Wich rom could you recommend me?
Thanks in advance.

Lineage is not updated. Use latest ROMs like Nos and pe
I had this same question when I bought my Redmi 4X.
I tried a bunch of the custom roms available and now I can say that the best is 8.1.0 Nitrogen OS
It's my daily driver and I have no complains about it
Xiaomi.eu rom
I tried every rom on nougat and oreo roms, and can guarantee that this build of Lineageos 14.1 is the fastest and battery also good, using that with nethunter kernel with enabled autosmp and it gives me 3 days of usage with 7-9 hours of screen usage
https://sourceforge.net/projects/loup-rom/?source=navbar
Oreo roms seems a lot buggy and not smooth as 7.1.2 roms, amd in 7.1.2 roms i prefer this
Link to kernel - https://yadi.sk/d/wGkzaIcp3U6gZv
Pixel experience
xiaomi.eu is by far more stable one.
In Oreo there a not 100% good roms yet, still on permissive SElinux.
And aosp Nougat based roms.. tried RR/AEX/LOS/crdroid and they are about perfect(rr is my prefered)
Go fr RR NOUGAT. No complaints here
