SM-N950U1 DTMF tones too short and too quiet to hear - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

SM-N950U1 DTMF tones too short and too quiet to hear, dialer pad tones when you hold your finger down on a number on the keypad to make a call only last 1/2 a second and the volume is very low ,almost can't hear it ,and when a call does connect and you have to select different #s to get to customer service or another department the tones disappear and all you get is a beep without the different tone sounds. This only happens on the stock dialer, when I use a third party dialer they work fine and I would use a third party except to can't disable the stock unless you root and I don't want to go there yet .

You don't have to disable stock dialer, you can choose which dialer you want. Settings, default apps.

SMS vibration

Is there a way to make the phone vibrate once instead of 3 times when an sms message is received?
Can anyone help with turning it off from SMS's ? I have a cooked rom with Voice Commander so I don't want it vibrating too. I have my Ring Type set to Ring although I sure someone will say that the ringer settings have nothing to do with SMS's

I think it's set to that considering that if a phone call is received it'll vibrate once and for a long time. Which to me, is useful to distinguish a call from a text.
I know of no software that could modify though...
It's OK, I found the option box in the Sounds and Notifications settings to have vibrate on or off for the New Text Notification

Vibration

Is there any software that i configure a vibration time in my incoming calls?
mine is vibrating full time. when the xperia start the ringtone the vibration do not pause or stop till i answer the call
can someone help or suggest something?
In Sounds & Notifications you have the possibility to choose between ring only, vibrate only, ring and vibrate (it seems like you have chosen this setting) and the alternative of starting with vibration and ringing afterwards.
If this is not enough for you there is the possibility to adapt the sequence of the incoming call notification either in the registry (I don't know the keys though) or by using tweaking software such as SK Tools.
Thanks

[Q] Change Vibrate pattern w/o new messaging app

Is it possible to change the vibrate pattern for SMS messages without having to use a 3rd party SMS app such as Handcent? I am quite fond of the built in TouchWiz lockscreen that works notifications and have noticed that it doesnt support handcent. It's hard to tell the difference between calls and spam text haha (Also is quite loud when it is a long vibrate rather than 2 short vibrates)

I second this. I've the same issue. I hate how long the phone vibrates, and I'm using the AOSP mms.apk. even though you can select short there, it still vibrates like 6 times :\

LINE messenger call is not respect the phone volume setting(Sound, Vibrate, Silent)

For galaxy S10, do you have any problem with LINE messenger call not respecting the phone volume setting?
Set Volume Setting to Silent
Use another phone to call via LINE messenger
Expect the phone (s10) to be silent without any ringing sound
But the phone is ringing (which i think it use the call volume) and the call volume cannot be decrease to zero which is annoying right now
Not sure if it is because of S10 only or because of Android Pie itself.

Maybe it's the app itself. How you looked in settings at the app's notification settings.
I'm not familiar with LINE messenger but I assume it's a 3rd party app, then setting the ringtone sound setting may not affect it. Try seeing if it's coming through as media, notifications, or system. Screenshot attached for reference.

I tried this on my Galaxy S8+ (Android P). There is no problem. The app respect the phone voice setting properly. Silent or Vibrate.
I noticed 1 thing. When you call your S10 phone, (while it is ringing, do not pick it up) try to adjust your voice volume (press volume button). You cannot decrease voice volume to 0 on S10 but you can on S8+.

Thanks, I think it using the In-Call Volume. Not these volumes (Ringtone, Media, Notification, System) and the In-Call volume you cannot decrease it to 0 on S10.

Question SCREEN NOT LIGHTING ON I'M COMING CALLS

I have not found a fix in all system settings and phone dialer app settings to make my screen light up and show caller name on stock dialer app and third party dialer app like the Ex-Dialer app my favorite. I tried other dialer apps and the stock Google phone dialer and still my phone does not light up on incoming calls. The phone rings though on regular ringtone and I just swipe down on the notification panel to accept the incoming call. Any help is most welcome and thanks.
