Phone is soft-bricked - how to fix? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I tried installing Magisk, but it failed. I then flashed the Magisk uninstall zip file and rebooted, but now my phone won't turn on. When I hold the power button it vibrates once. Nothing happens when I hold power + vol up/down.
I tried flashing with FlashTool but it says it can't detect the driver. Also I don't think USB debugging is enabled, how can I enable it if the phone is bricked? Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: this is fixed now, drivers didn't install properly in windows 10

Problem with Download Mode

Long story short, I have the I8190L version of the phone, currently on stock ROM. I got the phone a few weeks ago and I have rooted it right away, there were no problems while rooting, I used the Galaxy S3 mini toolkit and used the "Flash Insecure Boot Image and Root device" option, with SuperSU 1.25. Fast forward to right now, I want to install CyanogenMod, so I went and tried to boot my phone into Download Mode, to try and flash CWM recovery in order to install the Cyanogen ROM, but I simply can't start download mode, when connected to the USB pressing the Vol up + menu + power sequence, the phone just starts normally (The OS will load completely). adb reboot download doesn't work too, vol up + vol down + power and plugging in the usb cable doesn't work.. I did several hard resets and I removed root too, noone of those worked. I don't know if that is relevant, but I installed a patched google play (4.1.10 Chelpus version), I could not find a way to remove that. I can't reroot too because I would need to start my phone in download mode. Anyone knows what is happening?

are you connecting your phone to PC before you go to download-mode???
try this: download-mode (Vol up + Menu + Power) and now connect your device with your computer!
flash CWM or whatever you want...

That did not work, when it is about to go to download mode it seems that it fails and either boots the OS or just turns off (depends on how much I hold the buttons), and since adb reboot download doesn't work I think something got corrupted (adb finds the device and reboots it, but it just starts up normally).
I'm not sure why, but noone of the articles I read mentioned the actual CORRECT download mode sequence, which is: Volume Down + Home + Power buttons, and then click on Volume Up, it is working now. Thanks.

Well if you looked at the screen you would know what to press after vol down+home+power
oh my God,
you are all right.
i mixed up step one and two of Download-Mode - sorry
first you have to push Vol Down + Menu + Power (few seconds)
start odin as admin
second you connect your device to PC
third you push Vol Up
fourth you flash via Odin.
I often flash ROMs via Odin and / or use CWM so that works automatically ....

Then perform factory reset and try again by enabling USB debugging and unknown sources

Bootloop - android.process.media crashes - no cwm

I'm stuck in a bootloop... after flashing latest 23.4.A.0.546it with flashable.zip on my xperia z3 compact the phone will turn on and the "optimizing apps" message will prompt, when the process finishes I receive error "android.process.media stopped working". My phone is rooted with locked bootloader.
I have a cwm backup but I can't access dual recovery, red led appear when pressing volume up on boot.
So I opened flashtool, installed drivers and connected the phone with volume down pressed but it gives me error "For flashtool, Unknown Sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings" when I try to flash the ftf. If i retry I get error " Error in processHeader : 6 : The handle is invalid. ".
Now I can't flash with flashtool, I can't restore my backup or access the phone. Any help would be appreciated.
Try flashing with the phone off. I can't remember what button combo shut off my phone when it was looping. It was like Power button and Volume down or Power button and Volume up. Once the phone is off, try flashing the FW. Once the phone thing pop up shows up, hold volume down and connect the USB to the PC.

That's what I'm doing. Power button + volume up button turns the phone off and then I press power button + volume down so I can connect the phone in flash mode, when I try to flash I get error "For flashtool, Unknown Sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings".
apparently usb debugging was not enabled when I flashed via flashable.zip and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. Is there anyway to fix this problem?
Similar problem, no solution
Ok what I did is recovering with companion and then re-root, apply update and finally flash with debugging mode on. Kinda long process but I had backup so everything is working just fine and I didn't lose anything.

Any TWRP doesnt work on Built Version B390

Hey guys,
I installed the lastest OTA Update on my P9 (called B390) and tried to install a TRWP on the device, but no TRWP started working...
I tried every built I could find in this forum, but no one started to work.
Can anyone of you help me with this problem?
How did you try to install it?
Download 3.0.3 version of twrp
find latest i gues for nuget twrp, if corect it was 3.1.1-1. then, instal on fastboot, then, unplug phone from pc/usb cable, then, hold wolume up and do force restart holding power button ~30sec. hold bouth buttons till phone vibrate, then relase power button, keep holded volume up, till you see recovery. there are a lot who didnt disconect usb cable, what is reason its dont boot in recovery

Question Force power off

Hey, I've tried (and failed) to flash TWRP on my Realme 8, and I ran into a big problem:
The device boots up into the stock ROM, but the touchscreen is unresponsive and I can't figure out a way to power off the phone. I've tried to push the power button for up to a minute, i've tried going into recovery (vol+ and power button), tried adb (the PC is unauthorized, so it didn't work). Got a USB-C adapter to plug my mouse into the phone, but it wasn't recognized.
What can i do to power it off? I believe i could reflash the stock firmware after powering it off.
Thanks for any help!
Try to force a reboot by holding power and volume down.
Right, at least 2 buttons needs to be pressed for SoC reset, try them all, you'll find the right one.
