Hi,
Tried to get Samsung Internet to remember a password he offered me to use biometrics to save it.
I accepted and then I got this screen.
I'm using the SM-N950U1(Snapdragon) version AFAIK there is no root for it yet. I cannot even take a screenshot there (for security reason it says).
With MiXplorer I can see the root folder.
What is going on here?
No...... definitely not rooted.
The system is still readable ( read only ) even without root. If you were rooted it would be writable too.
Any file browser can see the root folder. You just can't modify it.

Maybe knox was tripped by something you did / wherever you got it from
(if you flash custom recovery (rooting) it will trip knox and void warranty) even if you flash your phone back to normal you will still have lost your warranty so app like that will not work anymore.
reboot into download mode and check 'system status' and 'warranty void'
system should be 'OFFICIAL'
and warranty should be 0x0
To get into download mode turn phone off then hold volume down key & Bixby key and then hold power key too
tap volume up to access download mode screen
to get out of download mode hold power and volume down key until it reboots
did you possibly restore apps from a backup which included SuperSU?

Yes.
Should I uninstall it?
SuperSU.apk is being detected so it must be removed. You should be able to uninstall it but may have to reset.

PLEASE don't answer unreliable/uncheked answers.
I didn't tripped knox I didn't flash anything (yet).
Samsung pay and secure folder does WORK only secure pass doesn't.
The reset didn't solve the problem.
I still got a lot of root apps other then SuperSu.
Should I uninstall all them?
Does someone KNOW what is the problem?

Yapp my bad, I didn't explained it correctly, it looked intuitive to me.
Samsung went on the negative
Warrenty void 0x0 means that the warrenty is NOT VOID (0=false,1=true) .
Instead of Warrenty status (without void , more intuitive IMHO) 0=false{void}, 1=true
Void literally means
1. Empty space (void space)
2. Not valid
3. Completely empty
SOLVED
Uninstall xposed installer as well (along with SuperSu)
Samsung acount removal and re-registeration is needed.
No reset is needed.

@Mithy correct me if I'm wrong but I understand that you post the stock ROM without any modification.
The only (but so nice for us) thing you've done is inspecting the code and found that, even if sammy put some trace of Knox for future update, there is NO KNOX BOOTLOADER INSIDE.
Then so far is it possible to act with KK just like with ICS (root, CWM ....) ?
Supersu 1.94 say that Knox is installed on device, and try to isable knox. Success. It works. Rooted.
Thank you very much for this firmware modification.
Sorry noob questions.
1. So if I root with this firmware, Knox warranty bit not going to be tripped? Any precautions how to not activate Knox on this firmware? I just want to have stock Rom without Knox and without root. Or Rom with root ability but without Knox in bootloader.
2. Anyone know what with future updates, if I install this I can in future update to next Android version s without errors/brick? I have German phone.
3. What about warranty if I install this? Does Triangle Away works? If my phone broke should I reset it to factors settings before sending it to Samsung? If I reset it, will Knox be activated in bootloader?
4. Can I downgrade back to 4.2.2? Without tripping Knox?

I'm still downloading so ....
But on this special point, because you're german, by european law, you're allowed to install any OS on any device without voiding warranty, thanks to microsoft's aggressive politic in 90's about linux on computer.
Europe's not so bad after all ....
I advise you to reset to stock rom anyway if you need warranty support. Do a nice nandroid backup.

I just brought an Galaxy note 8 N950F/DS yesterday. After I reboot the device, it shows a lock image. I can factory reset nornally, enter to the bootloader, and the knox trip to 0x1. I dont know the figure lock when I reboot the device mention what ?
Another question is that can I start to root my device and start to use SS Pay ? Because My knox is 0x1 already so I think I can root it to install some xposed module and use magic tricks to use SS Pay.
Thank you so much.
Samsung pay, as far as I know, will not work on rooted devices
Sorry bud but Samsung pay (and secure folder) depends on knox flag being 0x0.
Once it's at 0x1 there is no going back!
But you can use google pay with magisk hide root.

Nope. Samsung Pay doesn't check for root or even an unlocked bootloader (which is what that lock icon on startup indicates). You could re-lock the bootloader and flash a complete stock rom and Samsung Pay will not work due to Knox being tripped.
There is no way to reset the Knox counter back to 0x0, which means there's no way to get Samsung Pay working on your device. Android Pay, yes - Samsung Pay, no.

And it is said that I still use the Samsung Pay and Secure Folder.
- As of now you will lose Samsung Pay and Secure folder forever if you root once, even unrooting won't help. (hope in future we can get it working on tripped knox device). Also you may not able to run some banking apps, but for that there are some workaround like Magisk Hide or SU hide, google it.

I don't know if it is still work or not. I need to wait 7 days to unlock the OEM for test. Hope it can work
And about the Lock Icon after I reboot it, I think the reason is I set the secure unlock ( require the PIN code after reboot device ) so the Icon appears. I remove that option and the Lock Icon is gone. I don't know it is the reason or not ? Some people said I unlock bootloader and that icon appears.
The workaround is for banking apps - note it says you will lose Samsung Pay and secure folder FOREVER. Magisk or SU Hide cannot hide Knox, and as it says, even if you aren't rooted you won't get Samsung Pay back. It's been this way since Samsung Pay was released, so don't expect a workaround for that anytime soon (if ever).

As for the lock icon, I misunderstood. If the bootloader is unlocked I believe you'll see a small white lock under the "Samsung Galaxy Note 8" logo on startup. If you enter a pattern / PIN before seeing an unlock icon, then yes, that is indeed secure startup.

G'day XDA Developers.
I would love to root my Samsung Galaxy S10 then install a custom recovery (TWRP) then flash a custom rom (LinageOS) how ever I trip Knox when ever I attempt to do these things. So I was wondering how do you go about disabling Knox?
After some Googeling I found this site https://www.progeeksblog.com/how-to-disable-samsung-knox/ How ever these methods require you to first root your phone but rooting triggers Knox.
So I am at a loss here I am running stock android rom until I figure out how to bypass Knox.

thats always been around lolol.. but regardless ur post was more about not tripping knox which ur knox is in fact tripped so "disabling" knox doesnt change anything really.. also, that zip doesnt really disable knox.. it disables verification, defex, force encryption etc.
Actually it says that it disables vault keeper which is supposed to replace Knox but any way yea your right my post was more about flashing anything trips knox so how are you supposed to get around that.

vaultkeeper is not to replace knox.. samsung bases all their security on knox.. vaultkeeper is in addition to knox..
there is no way around tripping knox.. the knox warranty bit is a physical fuse that gets blown when bl is unlocked and u flash a custom firmware and there is no way to reset it..
magiskhide can sometimes "fake" it but with safetynet improving if ur device is set to use hardware then there wont be any way around that either in the long run

I don't care about voiding warranty. What happens when I try and flash anything custom on the device Knox gets tripped and the phone refuses to boot. Thats what I am talking about trying to bypass.
I have Galaxy Tab Active3, which is locked to organization and it seems to have Knox enabled.
I want to Factory reset it so I can use it for private use.
I cannot get it into download mode, but I can get it in recovery mode. However, the Wipe data/factory reset option seems to be disabled.
Dialing *#0*# and *#*#88#*# from emergency dialer do not work either.
Any advice how to remove the Knox protection and factory reset the device, so I can set it up from scratch and remove the organization lock?

short answer: no, you cant reset knox back to 0x0.
The reason i didn't root was that i lose more functionality than i gain and there's no going back to knox 0x0 after that. I couldn't imagine my S3 Mini or S5 without root but my Note9 is perfect without root as many things that were available only with root in the past are included in the stock firmware or in Good Lock modules.

The ONLY way to get KNOX back to 0X0 is to replace the mainboard...
You can get a rooted phone to display KNOX as 0X0 but it is cosmetic only and won't fool any apps that don't work on a rooted phone.
If you haven't replaced the boot file, rooted or replaced the recovery then an app you have installed likely is malware that has tried or successfully gained root privileges...

Simple answer NO i made a mistake rooting my Tab S4 i'm never ever rooting unless i get a SnapDragon as they i heard you can root without trpping Knox! Also root is not needed as we have Youtube Vanced, Disconnect Pro! Package Disabler Pro, and #Mono oh forgot about Goodlock! Unless your planning on running Custom Roms it's simply not worth Rooting! As it's to much headache to root update reroot etc!

This^ I also removed a few preinstalled apps via ADB and granted one permission for Tasker via ADB as well. Root was mandatory in the past but not any more at all.
after the one ui3.1/android11 it is sort of easier to relock the bootloader. you may want to take backups of anything you need from your device when your bootloader is still unlocked. you could use anything from google backups and samsung backups (suggested) to smart switch backups, literally copy pasting files to your pc, etc and more.
(disclsimer: i am not responsible for any damage to any of your devices/property/data etc )
why would one want to relock their bootlaoder? simple.
1) to revalidate their warranty if they have any
2) to receive automatic ota updates again
3) simply for needing something more secure due to a change of field, etc
4) regretting trying to do a failed attempt at installing any modifications and wanting to relock it to lock off and forget about your shame (oddly specific i know )
so its pretty simple. sorry for some of the prior padding out
you need to boot into recovery mode by connecting your device to a cable and using your device specific key combo and completely factory reset and wipe any data after backing up, and then again, boot into download mode and long pressing the volume up button or whatever button it specifies to go to the bootloader lock/unlock screen (ps: important, hold it till the screen changes and says or mentions the bootloader, don't just press it once!!!) and then confirm using the specified button. this will factory reset all your data, but also untrip any securities such as knox guard etc (at least it did for me) wait for some time till it finishes data wipe, system stock install and also some garbage bloatware depending on your area
ps: if i recall correctly this only works on oneui3.0+/android11+ devices, even on other models and devices supporting the above specified software
hope this helps if youre a newbie etc
