I just dont get why by default the pics are so small, i mean just look at whatsapp call, the incoming screen looks amazing, when we are getting a mod without root on our beast

You can use an overlay mod app with no root that it will increase the photo call 150%.....you just install this super small app with zero battery effect and restart the phone.... You try it and if it doesn't work just install it again with no restart this time....
It works perfect on Note 8 exynos EU latest December update and earlier....

Have you tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643
There is a trial in that thread. I have been using that app for years, and it has been working great on all devices, but I haven't installed it on my N6 yet.
Thanks for the link mate bit too much for my wallet but cheers for the heads up

It is expensive. I've also used it for years on many different devices. I think it used to be cheaper than it is now but if I had to buy it again at full price, I would. It has a lot of options to ensure there is always a way to get the best compatibility with which ever device I get next. Its always had the most consistent audio quality of any of the other recorders I've tried.
I can't recommend this enough. Try the trial. Then try some other apps.

Try Boldbeast call recorder. Manual recording mode is free. It works without setting SELinux to permissive.

Settings and app for the Nexus 6 (when the app asks to set SELinux to permissive, select no because there's no need for that):

On Lollipop 5.1 the app force closes after a phone call but it still records the phone call (worked perfectly on 5.0.2). The developer has promised to fix the FC issue.

Hiding caller number

Hi,
I have galaxy note 5 with android version 6.0.1.
When someone calls me, the phone will display both the name & number of the caller. I'd like to hide the phone number when somebody calls me and display the name only. Just like the iPhone.
I've searched a lot but I couldn't find a solution. I'll really appreciate your solution on this.
Regards
Perhaps you need a custom phone app other than the native one.

No I'm not talking about the service provider. In the iPhone if someone calls you you will see only the name of the caller that you have saved, while in Android will show both the name and phone number! And want to hide the phone number.
I've attached 2 pictures to give you more understanding.

I think it must be phone app which determine whether to show only the name or both the name and phone number.
Anyone can advise which app may I use?
No is getting displayed on Call screen not in the dialer app, so I don't think so any app will be able to change it.
I boat the galaxy note 7 and also has the same limitations. Really disappointing.
I'll be really glad if someone can develop a specialized app and I'm willing to pay for this is favir.

Thanks. I haven't rooted yet. This may be a task for later. Was hoping someone might have had good experience with something from the play store.
Hiya is pretty good. It doesn't require root, has blocking capabilities (though not before it rings once, usually). I'm not sure how resource hungry it is.
I am also looking for some way to have Full or Half screen caller id pictures like I used to have on my Xperia XZ Premium!

Flashing back to Oreo from Pie

I have someone who is going to take my Sprint Note 9 back to Oreo. Recording a phone is a must in my profession.
My question is the person doing it says there may not be a way save the data. There has to be a way to save it and put it back on, right?
1.call recorder may work on pie:

Doesn't for me on Sprint Note 9. Got Pie update from Oreo Friday night. Saturday couldn't record a phone call using ACR, Cube ACR and two others I tried. I'm far from an expert on how to mod phones so I was looking for help. I'm a reporter so I record a lot of interviews over the phone and use those to write stories later. I have to be able to record calls or I'm in trouble.
Then buy a xiaomi phone, poco for example has Native call recorder built in the phone app,.

Show Caller Information Problem

Hello there!
I was fiddling around with my Note 9 when I remembered that I had a very useful feature back on my Note 4 which showed me details about latest call/SMS from a caller on incoming call display.
What exactly am I talking about is on the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLFaV47fmII and in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/receiving-call-sms-call-caller-t3147707
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything to help me... I turned on the "Show Caller Information" as described in the video, but no information was showing up on the incoming call.
This feature is very useful for me because I have a lot of unknown business calls during the day and seeing what last SMS/call was with the incoming caller helps a lot.
Hoping you know something more on about this.
Cheers!

Thank you for your very helpful reply!!
Unfortunately for you, the hardware of the IR blaster is pretty hard to install, almost impossible... right?
Meanwhile, what I'm looking for is a tweak in the software of SamsungCall app thus making it more plausible.
Cheers fam
