I noticed recently that when i expand an email to see who else is being emailed (as opposed to reply all when I can see it in the body), that I can't see the names. They are there, but it's white text on white background. Doesn't seem to be theme related. Anyone else?
I hard reset my device and for a time it was fine. Until i enabled developer option and changed all the graphics to zero. Then I lost ability to see either CC names in email again. Returned them to 0.5 and they came back. Weird.

Interesting problem this, it seems to have just started to happen out of the blue a few days ago.
The problem, in a nutshell, is that whatever I try to do, be it recreate the entries in the Address Book, create a duplicate entry with the same name, use the O2 Plus feature which lets you save a contact to your address book and make a new entry like that... Whatever I do, whenever I receive a new text message, the person's name isn't shown as the sender, just their mobile number in international format.
Even if I have that contact in my phone already, with their number in the same format as is shown on the text message (+447...), their name doesn't show at all. It's really starting to annoy me, as I've not added or removed anything to my XDA and yet this problem isn't going away.
Argh! Anybody have any ideas as to what's wrong? I might ring O2's oddly-named Data Support and quiz them about this tomorrow, too...
Cheers again everyone,
Christopher
When you search the forum for "CallerID" you'll find a few people asking about the same problem, mainly when receiving calls however not SMS' and some suggestions.
Do you have photos attached to your contacts? I'd try reinstalling the CallerID_Alpine_... from your Extended_Rom, if all fails it might be easiest to restore a backup (if you got one that is).
hth,

I did some further testing today, borrowed a mate's phone and rang mine... Bizarre, the first time my phone was rung, it would take approx. 30 seconds for the name of the caller to show, the number showed up fine though. Subsequent dials would result in the name showing up almost instantly (as usual)...
.... Veeeeeeery odd. I'll just dash off and try reinstalling this CallerID cab...
Hi All,
Has anyone successfully changed the layout of the e-mail tab in TF3D? I find the little envelope that shows you 2 1/2 lines of the top message to be just about useless. I'd really rather have just a list of messages come up.
What do you think? Is this possible?
Mode9 Editor
It is possible, and not all that hard to make some changes that will render the email previews much more useful. Search the forums for "Mode9 editor" and you'll find the most excellent work done by 6Fg8. Use this to make the envelope graphics transparent and you'll get much more readable area in the message previews.
I am trying to figure out how to un-tilt the message viewing area (i.e. make it flat like the way messages are shown in the "Messages" tab) but have not had much success yet. If I can ever manage to get this going, will post.
Thanks for the info. The Mode9 changes are an improvement, but the problem is that this whole idea is flawed. It only shows one message at a time. I lots of times get 3-5 e-mails before I bother to look at them (that's what happens when you're up to 300/day!).
We should really work on a solution that is more like an apreviated/improved inbox. I'm just not sure where to get started on such a thing.
Try the BBExtreme3 skin. Takes the envolope off and up and down motions scroll through what emails you have.

Sorry for the wall of text, but hopefully can get some solutions from you guys who are more experienced in Windows Mobile than me.
I got a brand new replacement phone two days ago from the HTC service centre in Singapore due to a camera problem from my previous set of Diamond 2.
My previous Diamond 2 upon receiving smses would place all the smses according to chronological order in a list which you could access after tapping the screen once at the Message menu. What appears would be the choice to view details of the contact, list of messages, as well as the call history.
However, the weird thing that has happened is that with my new replacement, the list of messages that i would newly receive would be gone. However, this only happened to one number which was CNANewsPack. I have chosen all my previous settings that placed all messages to "Threaded" in the "All Settings" menu but to no avail. Maybe there was something i missed?
Is there anyway i can see the list of messages that i receive from future from this particular number? Thanks so much in advance.
Hi. Did u manage to sort out ypur problem without hard reset?I think i have the same problem.
I recently got a TD2(3 months). all was good untill recently i had a problem with opera which no one could help me with and ended up having to hard reset
Now, everytime i touch the messaging tab via touchflo, or select a contact and then choose the messaging tab(2 c all the previous messages from that contact), there is no messages.although i know they are in my phone. also, when i select the message tab from tflo3d, the option on the bottom right(menu), does nothing if i touuch it.
please let me know if you or anyone else can help.
Thanks in advance.

I just picked up a Droid 2 running MIUI 1.8.5 and immediately fell in love. One weird issue is that the Google Talk app's contact list is empty. I can browse all settings and menus just fine. When someone IMs me, I receive the status bar notification, but tapping that gives me just a text input field (no message display) that performs VERY slowly.
I tried updating to 1.8.12, but the behavior persists. I don't think this was always the case. I had a weird situation adding another Google account (it kept on becoming the primary account, so I had to removed BOTH and add them back in specific order.)
This sounds like a UI bug, but I haven't found any hints online. Other applications, like the message app, show the green "online" icon next to the contacts I would normally see on the list. A 1,000 internets to the person with an answer.
I'm currently using a T-Mobile Note 5. Previous device was Note 4. So far, I like the phone, (N4 performance was disappointing) but there are a few quirks that I have yet to find a way to circumvent. Like anything, I'm sure there's value to someone for this stuff, just not for me.
1. When sharing an image from a gallery, it prompts me to either send to an Existing Contact or new contact. So they make the first app chosen when opening a new file or link the default app automatically (one of the quirks I don't necessarily prefer, but I can live with), but then add this?
2. Caller ID contact images for incoming and outgoing calls are tiny. I've reuploaded high res images to the contact and opened the contact locally to ensure the image was loaded and cached (so it didn't just display the small image with the blurry background) and still tiny. Both making and receiving calls.
3. If i"m doing something, incoming calls show up as a pop up card with a double ended arrow to expand it. I can live with it, but i'd prefer full screen.Any way to change that default behavior?
4. When in the messenger, tapping the paperclip to select an image attach from your gallery automatically sends the message. You can only select "Send", there is no attach option. Composing text before attaching does nothing and the picture is sent and your text stays in the text box.
I was able to solve the issue of disabling screen mirroring, and no way to keep capacitive touch buttons illuminated with the installation of a few light-weight apps that reenabled the options, but I have been unsuccessful finding anything about the four things I mentioned above.

Click to collapse
I do not have the t-mobile version so I do not know what the difference would be but my attachment button works on the stock app.
I'm able to attach files fine, it's just the behavior when I attach them. Using the attached screenshots, I'll start out in a message and I'll tap my paperclip.
After tapping the paperclip, I'll be presented with the attach menu which as my recent photos and then the other options.
Upon selecting an option, there is only one button and that is send in the top right. If I push Send, it sends the picture. If I have text in the message field, it will NOT attach the picture so the image and text go as one message. My text stays untouched in draft and it sends just the picture.
That is weird. After I select a file I have a done button where your send button is. I wonder if it has something to with the advanced messaging for t-mobile.
All I can do is picture the Dr. Evil meme with "Advanced Messaging" in quotes...
I'll see if I can find a non-updated N5 and test the behavior. When I get a new phone I do all the OS updates first, and a fresh factory wipe so I didn't even bother looking to see what was contained in the update.
I could do without the video calling button monopolizing the entire send key area since I'll never use it...
I had to go so far as to check if Easy Mode was set up... Nice job Apple Samsung.
Either way thanks for the heads up. I was out of the loop and didn't even know about the advanced messaging and that sounds like a viable lead.
Just to close the loop on this in case someone else stumbles across it. Disabling VoLTE in the call settings "fixes" #1 and #4.
Thanks to bryyyan, which is where I first learned about this.
