having same issue how do u fix it?
Same issue as well, guessing you fixed it by letting the battery turn itself off?
I don't think the Bixby button needs to be held down. Just VolumeDown+Power resets my Note8 in ~10s.
I inadvertently got my phone into upload mode when it pressed against something in my pocket. Resetting the power with VolDwn+Pwr was the only way I got out of it.

thank's a lot.I was faces this issue and you help me with your words
Happened twice, once while set down once while charging. No buttons ever being accidentally pressed in any way. Mine is rooted using samFAIL, is yours or any one else's rooted as well?
Initially thought it was because of being rooted now I am beginning to wonder if this happens on stock units. If so then sam is a BIG " Fail"ure
Neither Note8 that I have are rooted yet, so it happens on stock also.

I can't see any similar problems on the forum, so can anyone help?
Yesterday my Kaiser's power button stopped working. In the middle of the day, not doing anything with it, installing anything or changing any settings. I took it out of my pocket and the screen was on with the power off dialog box showing (I normally keep it on standby in my pocket) The power button wouldn't put it into standby, and holding it wouldn't power it down. Intermittently the power off dialog appears on screen, if I click yes the device restarts (doesn't stay off). Everything else seems to work normally still. Soft resetting works normally. All the other buttons seem to work ok. I've tried a hard reset, but that made no difference.
Anyone else have anything like this?
no but i think ur power button seems to be stuck.. take it to ur local att store and see if they can help u out or try pressing and see it becomes unstuck.

I'm having the exact same problem right now. The power button definitely seems to be stuck. Can't figure out how to unstick it
About a week ago I had a similar problem.
The power button and the photo button stopped working. I couldn't turn the the device off or set it to standby.
Had to soft reset and after that it was ok again.

Well that didnt work! Any other solution?
Is it possible to unmap the power button and map that question to another button???
It started as soon as I received a phone call from my brother and we were in the middle of a conversation when the phone suddenly goes off. I tried to restart it, I even removed the battery and replaced it but when I press the power button I get the initial boot sequence showing the htc logo and then the phone would just go of. I thought that maybe the battery is low but when I plug it to a power outlet it keeps trying to boot but keeps switching off and it just does this over and over.
Please I don't know if anyone has encountered this problem before, I really don't know what to do.

Try a Hard Reset using the device buttons:
1. With the phone off. If it’s frozen or unresponsive, pull then replace the battery.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and power the phone back on.
3. Continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down until a factory reset screen appears.
Hope this helps!

Well I just did that but the problem persist. I should note that occasionally it does complete its boot up and I can use the phone but it can go off at any time and once it does this, i cannot get it to completely boot up. Once it attempts a boot up and goes off I cannot even restart it by pressing the power button until I replace the battery or plug it into a power socket or the computer at which point it will just keep booting up and shutting down.
Something far wrong there. Get a replacement device.

Hi, I have got the same problem on my HD7 and I am completely noob to many new words Goldcard, jailbroken, etc. Would you please advise me exactly what you did (i mean flahing procedure) and really appriciate any help.
Well if you have got an O2 HD7, then I would advise you to get one of the O2 ROMS from ansar, download it then press and hold the volume down button when booting up your device, connect the phone to your pc and start the app. More instructions in the HD7 development thread.
There's nothing wrong the phone. Don't hard reset or flash it. It happens from time to time, just give it some time and eventually you will see a battery icon appear. Then after awhile it will boot up.
Again, do not flash or hard reset just be patient. I believe it just needs to drain all the way down as it doesn't have enough power to fully boot.
Not booting up
Hi,

Hey guys,
So I have had my One more than a year, never root, never install any mod in it, just simple, daily use. It worked well till last night when some weird thing happened:
- At first, the Back, Home and HTC buttons keep flashing along with the screen. When I unlock my screen pass lock and go to the home screen, it showed a notification like "To restart the phone, keep pushing the power button for (x) second" with x is the count down number. After that, the phone is automatically rebooting, then the problem happen again.
- After a few times, I manage to shut it down properly then turn the phone up. As I notice, as long as I doing something with the phone such as calling somebody or checking facebook or simply sliding the home screen, thing is normal. But as I stopped using it, that weird notification pop up again
- The phone keep restarting after that, again and again. Sometime it boot successful, but when Im go to the home screen, the notification shows up and my phone restarts again. As I couldnt turn off my phone, it is drained and out of battery.
- This morning, I put the cable in and try to charge it, and My One now stuck at the first HTC logo screen then restarting and then stuck again. That looping process is drive me crazy. As I try to pull out the cable, the phone is not working (Obviously) since it is out of battery.
- As I hold down Power and Volume down, I can enter bootloader screen. I saw a "locked" banner and cannot navigate through the menu and can not press Fastboot or anything. After 2-3 seconds, the phone is shut down and keep looping.
Long story shot, can anybody tell me how to fix this. As I have a lot of pictures that havent been backed up, I really appreciate if I can keep everything without doing a factory reset. Oddly enough, I cant even do a factory reset since the bootloader is not working.
Please help.
Have you tried a factory reset?
On boot, bottom down n power will take u to fastboot.
You can do a factory reset from there.
HTC sync can save your stuff.

As I mentioned above, I can hardly do anything from that fastboot screen. Up, down and power button is not working as I cannot navigate to recovery or factory reset. Even pushing power button wont do.
When I connect the phone to PC, nothing happen. It is because the phone is out of battery i suppose?
The problem is when I start to charge the phone, it will keep looping. But if I dont, the phone is death and I cant do anything.
I honestly dont know. I suspect you have
Fast boot selected under Settings>power.
You've got to try till you can get into fastboot otherwise send it for repairs.

Because this is exactly the message we usually get when holding the power button for more then 5 sec...
and that would explain the reboot issue
looks like the "power" key is always active
definitively sounds like an hardware issue imo
and your issue is even present in bootloader what confirm that this is an hardware defect.

Hey guys,
I'm on the newest 10N TMO rom. Everything's stock - no root, stable 3rd party apps, no debloat..
So I'm on the plane, playing around with the gogo inflight texting thing, which I tried with four phones and it's still never worked... My phone stopped responding and attempted to reboot - except it never finishes booting because it keeps on showing the black LG - LIFE IS GOOD screen. I attempted to master reset with the down and power button, but even after the reset, it throws me back into the loop. I've tried booting it on with or without the SD card and SIM, but it doesn't make a difference. TMO is sending out a replacement unit, but I know it's going to be a refurb. I've had the worst luck with TMO replacements since they just end up sending me someone else's broken device... The phone doesn't react to vol up + power to enter download mode either.
Any other ideas?
with phone power off. Hold vol up and plug in usb cable to force download mode

ok so now what i got it to go to the download place but now it is just sitting there telling me that i shouldnt un plug it. sorry if i missed the answer already.
Did I miss something here? On post 4 he states to use the power button? What? All the blogs I've read to get into Download mode states holding the Vol Up button down while plugging in the usb cable. I'm doing that and all it does is shows a battery symbol. I'm stuck in a boot loop and cannot do anything. Hoping someone has a resolution to this.
This is known issue all over the internet, has to do with some bad connector inside.
I am waiting on my replacement as we speak, my started this boot loop yesterday.
This after being rooted fine for 4 months.
Have found no way to solve, it just restarts, hangs on the animation or says its updating the apps and then just restarts yet again.
Look at your serial, the 505-509 supposed to be bad batches.
Mine is 507.

I'm already on my third LG G4 due to bootloops.
The deep freeze method seemed to work for me to get my data off.
I got a feb 2016 'buyers remorse' phone sent to me from tmobile.
Hopefully better luck with this one.

I recently updated my Mi A2 via OTA update by using Express VPN to connect to India. Everything was fine until I powered off my device. It would not turn back on (no boot animation or anything).
However, I then proceeded to plug in the charging cable. After doing so, my screen lit up and I was able to get my phone to boot.
Now the problem remains that every time I turn my device off, it won't boot unless I plug it in to a power source.
Please, anyone experienced this? Is there a way to fix it? Would an update further down the line fix an issue like this?
Please, I can use my phone normally when it's on but this thing with the not being able to boot is just bugging the freak out of me.
I've had a problem like this before, hold power only gives a vibration and doesn't boot, just keep holding the power button

I honestly didn't expect this to work but it's as you say. My phone would just vibrate and nothing more.
Following your instructions, I held the power button longger than usual and it finally booted. You sir are a legend. Thank you !!
But it would be awesome to know why this happens though. Was it due to something in the pie update? and will I need to be holding down the power button considerably longger (around 5-6 seconds) moving forward. Or will it boot like normal now?
Again, before anything else. Thank you

My device successfully booted into 8.1.0 lol I don't know what happened, anyone know how fix it?
