As you all know, snapchat does not work on rooted phones anymore... Wrong! It doesn't work on phones with xposed framework, at least upon logging in.
steps (modified and simplified)
a. uninstall xposed framework (ROOT DOES NOT MATTER, HAVING THE XPOSED APP ALSO DOES NOT MATTER, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FRAMEWORK INSTALLED) before installing snapchat then do a fresh install of snapchat. Only disabling the xposed module=fail
b. log in into snapchat whithout having the xposed framework installed.
c. after logging in, install the framework back
voila, now you have all the xposed functions plus snapchat working just fine
Goodluck!

As you all know, snapchat does not work on rooted phones anymore... Wrong! It doesn't work on phones with xposed framework. I kept searching for a solution and all i found was rootcloack to hide root. It's good, but snapchat actually checks for xposedbridge.jar. I disabled the framework in xposed and snapchat worked without any mods and even with root. You can find rootcloack in xposedrepo.
steps
All in all, in order for snapchat to work (tested on lastest snapchat) you need to use rootcloack as follows:
1. install it and activate it under modules in xposed- then restart the phone
2.(i assume you have snapchat installed, if you do, clear data just in case) go to rootcloack,
3. under add/remove apps, click on 3 dots and "reset to default"
still in add/remove apps, add snapchat using +
4 under add/remove keywords and comands (do the same for both) add Xposedbridge.jar XposedBridge Snapprefs.apk Snapprefs (last 2 only if you have snapprefs module and you want to have no problems)
5. add the same commands to add/remove comands
done.

Another solution is to login before installing xposed and then you'll be all gravy. I just did this 10 min ago and can confirm it works.
Mine works just fine.

This method doesn't work for me.
I found a work around for it my phone died and I signed into my sc from another device used it and logged off when I tried signing in on my phone I got temp login failure notice this is what I did to get back on:
On a second device, download latest version and sign into Snapchat
Once done, root second device and download titanium backup
Make a back up of Snapchat from second device and send the .tibkp back up or whatever to the first device
On first device download latest version of snapchat and titanium back up and restore the data only from the file you sent to the first device from the second device
Once done use sc like normal
Works fine unless you sign out from Snapchat on the second device so what I did is I froze Snapchat on the second device and erased the back up.
BTW I used a Samsung tablet as a second device and s6 edge for first device

Wound up installing Snapchat on another device, doing a backup with Titanium Backup, and restoring the backup to my primary device. I could not get the Root Cloak method to work.
Rooting phone.
Hi I got a question. I have a LG G stylo and I really want to change my emojis to the IoS 9 emojis. I was wondering if I installed king root and emoni switcher will it stop me from getting on Snapchat since Snapchat blocks Snapchat rooted users. Please let me know and I'm kinda scared to do this because I don't want to be able to get on Snapchat anymore. Also, if I delete the root app, will it be officially unroofed?thank you.
easiest thing to do is, make a TB backup of snapchat of you logged in.. that way if you get logged out you can restore the app data from back up and you are logged in again.
If you get logged out and do not have a backup, you have to uninstall xposed, login to snapchat, make a TB backup, install xposed and boom you are good to go.. no need for rootcloak.
the best solution is to install xposed uninstaller in your custom recovery mode if you want to login to snapchat in a rooted and xposed device. you can install xposed framework after you log in.
Hey everyone.
I have a few problems with this... First when I try to uninstall xposed framework, my phone will not boot. I have a xperia z5 premium, running RomAur.
Second, when I try to do a backup with Titanium backup from another device, snapchat will not start and instantly crashes upon launch after being restored on my z5p.
Any pointers?

ps. the problem is not the root or the xposed app installed, its the xposedbridge.jar which changes the code in the framework, snapchat sees that and crashes the application upon logging in, then the popular "can't log in"

I'm using an android emulator called AmiDUOS, it runs android 5.1.1. Blue stacks doesn't work for me.
I actually got snapchat working on AmiDUOS one point, I was rooted so used an app to freeze supersu so it wouldn't be detected, allowing me to log in but I got logged out and this way isn't working for me anymore. I've used rootcloak to cloak snapchat and supersu but with no avail. Do you have any idea what is triggering snapchat to think I'm rooted? Maybe they don't like that I'm using an emulator? Can I hide this?
Thank you
I tried the method given here bu could no log into snapchat, i also tried uninstalling xposed and backing up data using titanium backup. Is there another way to log in?
No Luck. I uninstall the framework (but the installer app is still there, that a problem?), reboot, install Snapchat fresh, try to sign in and get the same "Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later." message.
I'll try with titanbackup on my old phone later tonight to see if I can just copy it over like that.
Edit: I created a new Snapchat account with xposed framework uninstalled and it let me in. Seems like they are flagging accounts that try to login with xposed installed and/or root?

Just to add my experience - I was unable to get the root cloak method to work. I already had xposed and snapchat installed, and removing xposed seems risky so I didn't want to go that route. No matter how I set up root cloak, ensuring to wipe snapchat's data in between, it still wouldn't let me log in.
I resorted to logging in on my old phone and backing up snapchat + its data with titanium backup. It works like a charm. Good thing I have old android phones laying around!
Hi,
I have a banking app wich loink I provide hereby: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsi.ruralviawallet2
In the latest versions it just crashes, and after force closing and few opening and closing the app tells me that the system is modified and cannot run.
I have MAGISK 16 with magisk hide and the app checked to hide root, USB debugging deactivated as well...
Tried to use the uninstall magisk and un-SU scripts and cache clean but still crashing, So it may not have anything to do with Magisk, but since I had it installed it may have left something over there that the app is detecting as a mofied system...
Any Ideas ?
Thanks so much for your help
Make sure to also hide the Manager. I can open the app just fine if it's added to the Hide list and with the Manager hidden.
There might also be other things causing issues... Check here for more tips:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHide#hn_Hiding_root_from_apps
Thank you
Anyhow it's still not working, I have uninstalled all the apps that can be only runt with Root in case that was the cause, but still crashing. The Phone is unrooted now...
I will try now to Re-intall Magisk and hide everything, see if it does work :S
If anyone has a similar issue or idea, all help would me much appreciated.
Thanks again

When you don't have Magisk installed there are a whole bunch of stuff that may trigger the app that MagiskHide otherwise hides. Try with Magisk again...
Thank you very much for your help!!
For people that's having the same issue, I've solved it uninstalling several apps like TWRP MANAGER, ROOT EXPLORER and other apps that can only be used with root, after did a wipe cache and rebooted.
Take care with TWRP, when you install the recovery it asks to install an APK and usually almost everyone hits yes. This app is most likely detected by some apps and considered as system modification. @Didgeridoohan thank you!! ( It may be useful to put tjis in your Wiki for everyone to be warned about this so you dont receive this question again )
Reinstalled Magisk, Hid the Magisk Manager, selected the app to hide on the list and it worked!
Everything's fine now.
Thanks a lot for you kind help

I'm using a Galaxy S8, Android 7.0, Magisk 16.6. When I try to play Pokemon go, it gives me the "OS not supported" message. The 16.3 fix didn't work back when it came out and I haven't been able to play since then. I did check the app in Magisk Hide and I activated the setting to hide Magisk Manager with a random package name, but it still doesn't work. Is there anything else I should do?
The only thing you can do that will work is to completely uninstall magisk. That should let you play pokemon go.
Pokemon also looks for a bunch of known root apps on your device, not only Magisk. And MagiskHide can't hide other apps.

There are a whole bunch... Busybox installers, system cleaners, etc. There's an old list available somewhere in the Magisk PoGo thread (search), but that list might be outdated. Easiest thing is to uninstall some root apps and see if it works better.
An easier alternative, if you have the means to do it, is to use a clean spare phone/tablet for Pokemon Go, and keep your phone how you need/want it for everything else. Bluetooth data sharing is enough bandwidth to make PoGo work.

Sure.
Make sure you have Pokemon on the Hide list.
Hide the Magisk Manager (in the Manager settings)
Delete the MagiskManager folder on your internal storage (next time you download/install a module through the Manager the folder will be recreated).
Edit: There will likely be an update to Magisk that will hide the MagiskManager folder. But for now this is a workaround.

Hmmm, tried all this, but still PoGo will not comply, even when I sandbox it in the work profile. (island app) The latter sounds a bit strange to me, as it should limit access to anything. (Magisk Manager gets installed, but is hidden)
To be honest, PoGo is just a test for when they start messing with Ingress as well. When it's getting to much trouble to have the app behave, it's out. They are just games, nothing to compromise my device for.
Also rename or delete every file or folder on your internal storage / sdcard that contains "magisk"

Any file? Not only the directory, but one that can be found somewhere on the device/external sdcard? (Like Magisk-v16.7.zip which you need to install it...)
Strange it should see it when sandboxed.
You can try, someone else said so, I did also do it and had no problem anymore so far.
But you should be right, that when its sandboxed it should not see it anyways...

Before using the hide magisk manager option, make sure magisk manager is NOT a system app. This will successfully repack magisk manager.
Then delete magisk fodler from internal storage and hide PoGO.

May be other ROMs come with integrated Magisk. That was the case in mine. Convert it to user app first.
Then try magisk hide again and look for the package name in app info (It should be something random). Then continue with other steps as it is and it should work fine.

TWRP Recovery
If I install Magisk again, then boot the Samsung S7 without a bootloop, but then dont work PoGo

Uninstall in the magisk app not by flashing a zip in recovery
Before I rooted my XZ premium I played pokemon go Just fine, afer Just enabling developer options (still locked bootloader and not rooted) it did not work Annymore, switching off developer options fixed pokemon go again.

I was wondering if its possible to root my device and install TWRP on my S7 Edge, whilst still being able to play pokemon go? As i have looked around on the internet and found that they are clamping down on rooted android users that try to play pokemon go. Im not sure if there are ways around pokemon go detecting the device as being rooted, but ive also tried magisk hide, but had no luck. Im also not sure on the safetynet fix thing, but i have rooted devices before. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Yes you can. Install Magisk.
Use Magisk Hide for Pokemon app
Then go into Magisk Manager settings and select the option to "Hide Magisk Manager"
Pretty easy.
Make sure you dont have any folders or files with the word Magisk on your sd card since pokemon now searches that.

Thanks. Is there also a way to keep s-health working? As i heard once you root, it triggers knox and stops certain apps from working.
Hello to all folks,
This is a weird one.
My banking app could see rooted state although the app was in the hide list and also the Magisk Manager was hidden too (renamed, reinstalled etc).
So I was out of options until I read this:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHideHidingRoot
Among other useful bits and pieces it says "If an app still can detect Magisk, even if you have it on the Hide list, the Manager is repackaged and everything else from this list of tips is ok, try to uninstall the Manager and see if this helps. If that works, you might be out of luck and the only way to fully use the app in question is to regularly uninstall and then reinstall the Magisk Manager..."
I did so and here is the crazy part...
After uninstalling magisk manager app then a series of things took place:
My banking app now works ok
Root checker says root not properly applied
All apps that need root to work (TitaniumBk, Adaway, CallRecorder) see device as rooted and work flawlessly.
In other words, as like magic everything works fantastic!
Problem/Question/Worry: What will happen after I reboot?
Any ideas please?
Thank you very much!
You just made my day! Someone actually did their homework...
If you don't have the Manager installed you will end up having issues with superuser requests. Reinstalling the Manager after using the banking app is probably a good idea. Or you could probably set up a script or an app to freeze and unfreeze the Manager at the press off a button. I'll have to look into that and add to the guide.
Update:
I had to uninstall and reinstall TitaniumBk and sure enough TitaniumBk didn't get root permissions.
So I installed again Magisk Manager and updated to 8.0.0 and decided to try once more to hide Magisk Manager by renaming it to a different name than "Manager".
I noticed an important difference compared to previous endless times of hiding MM: The newly installed MM had a diferrent icon than the original one with the masked face.
And then...
...magic happened!
All banking apps didn't decect root!
Root checker could see device rooted!
Conclusions:
1. Either the MM 8.0.0 has a better hide MM feature
2.or my installation of MM 7.5.1 wasn't robust
Who knows...
Anyway this is my underatnding and I wsih there is a script to freeze/unfreeze MM with the push of button because in this battle of app developers against MM it's not always safe to assume that the "hide MM" feature will do the trick.
Thnak you again

This, most likely.
With this new Manager, the stub that is used is completely empty (which is why you're seeing the basic Android icon) and much harder to detect.
