I need help before return my mi max 2, the phone doesn't recognize sim cards. (Tested with 3 diferent providers.)
I'm from chile, these are the bands
2G capabilities
GSM 850, GSM 1900
3G capabilities
UMTS 850, UMTS 1700, UMTS 1900, UMTS 2100
4G capabilities
LTE 700 (28), LTE 1700 (4), LTE 2100 (4), LTE 2600 (7)

Tried with Miui 8 (out the box) and miui 9, both from global firmware.
I dont want to unlock the bootloader for return purposes, unless someone can confirm the fix.
Also forgot, mine MI MAX 2 is the global black version 4GB RAM 64GB ROM

First of all, check if Mi Max 2 works with your phone service at willmyphonework, if it's all green ticks there, if yes, then see which rom you are running, if it's China ROM, you can change it for Global ROM without unlocking bootloader, either by recovery or by mi flash.

yes it does, at least with full 3g and 2g
Is There imei shown in your phone?. Flash developer rom or ask where from you bought and correct that?

I already flash dev rom miui 9 global, the IMEI sems fine
No Service, disconnected the signal after some time of phone being locked
I had the same issue, don't know if it's because of recent update or the hardware defect

I got same problem. I live in Brazil and my SIM CARD 1 was working fine couple weeks ago. Now it allways show no signal, sometimes i restart my phone 5 times, and it identify the network, also it shows a message saying its not possible to activate SIM1(this is when its working).
I cant post image since im new member, message says this:
Can not activate SIM card 1
Failed to send server activation message

I wonder if you can just flash a stock FTF rom (that is, say, generic LT30p) but just exclude the baseband portion - would the rom know to work with the AT&T baseband you're keeping?
I know that with my LT30a (Bell), I can flash generic LT30p FTF stock roms (fully, including the baseband) and still get LTE (by going into the dialer and doing the *#*#4636#*#*, then Phone Info, and choosing LTE/GSM/WCDMA). But -- It's a LT30a, not an LT30at. Is AT&T that specific in their baseband needs?
Sorry if this isn't helpful... but hey, if you have your stock AT&T FTF (which you can find easily in this forum), why not try one? ( a generic LT30p FTF)... I don't think that would brick the phone. If you find it's not working, you can flash back to your AT&T FTF and be back to normal. Just make sure your battery is full before you begin.
Also, if you're going to be flashing FTF's for the first time, read up on everything you need first (base drivers via pc companion? latest flashtool? the drivers that are located in the folder where flashtool is installed? - and if you're using Windows 8 or 8.1, there will be an extra step or 2 to get those flashtool drivers working properly).
I thank you very much for taking the time out to answer my query! Since the phone is AT&T-branded and unlocked, it supports MOST of T-Mobile's basebands AFAIK (some LTE ones aren't supported). Flashing a LT30p stock ROM works, but I'm not sure how well it plays with T-Mobile. That's what I'm trying to figure out here, specifically. This phone has to be one of the most confusing phones I've ever dealt with when it comes to what can and can't be flashed over, having to reflash the Recovery after flashing a ROM, being stuck with a locked bootloader, etc.
Either way, I do wanna keep this thread updated with my findings. I'm spending way too many hours on this phone though, unfortunately. I REALLY wish the bootloader could be unlocked. I'm tempted to sell the thing and buy something a little more open, unfortunately.
EDIT: So I've flashed over this ROM and its nice to get rid of the AT&T bloatware on the phone. I've still gotta look further into alternate ROMs and whatnot. It appears some people have had better luck flashing Europe-based ROMs over to the phone (they support a wider range of basebands).

Here's the problem: Bands 1700 and 2100mHz aren't showing up, which are needed for 3G/4G on T-Mobile. I know this phone supports them, I'm just not sure what to flash to get them to show up. Also UMTS - BC4 is also necessary for T-Mobile to get anything more than Edge (2G) coverage.

I have a friend who owns a HTC One m7, model "htc_asia_hk", board "APQ8064" . The problem is that in our country 4G LTE bands are 1700/2100 Mhz and 700 Mhz , and apparently the M7 is not enabled.
Is there anything he can do? Any software to enable other bands to have LTE?

reboot the phone in bootloader. The first line in green will tell you if its a UL or U. M7_U doesn't have LTE.

i would like to add LTE band 38 to my M7_UL running Cyanogenmod 12.1- (20160710-Nightly-m7) Android version 5.1.1.
I did find this tutorial but I'm not sure it will work with newer versions of Android. Can't ask there because that topic is closed.
Is there any way to enable band 38 ? my carrier is using band 38 (2600) for 4G and they try to sell me their stupid phones to be able to use the 4g feature

I have and M7 from Spain and I'm using it in Colombia, I need to open the Band 4.
So basically I flashed the new version of benzo rom and lost my lte. I can only get 3g with Verizon and restoring/flashing other roms leads to the same problem. I had LTE prior to this. Everytime I try to manually adjust the apn settings they won't save and my new apn just disappears. Any ideas? Thanks

Well I tried both suggestions and even unrooted and returned to stock. Still stuck on 3g. I'm starting to think it may be my sim card and it was just a coincidence.

I had the same problem earlier today. I reseated my SIM card and rebooted and it has been working since.
Update, in case you are still having this problem...
My previous "fix" (reseating the SIM card) didn't last very long and then I was back on 3G again. After several days of only 3G, I flashed the Verizon-specific version of the LMY47D radio found here...

I bet that will fix your problem too.

I actually tried flashing verizon specific radios, restoring to stock, relocking the device. I went through everything I could think of and eventually getting a new sim for verizon yesterday worked. I am re rooting my device as we speak so I'll see if I possibly replicate the problem. I noticed what happened though prior to getting a new sim, any apn I chose never stuck and it kept forcing an apn that didn't enable lte.

I have been experiencing a weird problem since i have received my Oppo Find X3 pro 5G from Amazon.de. It is the Global version CPH2173.
I don't get the 5G network option on preferred networks and also on the developer settings menu the 5G option is greyed out.
I am in a 5G area and my sim cards work with other 5G phones.
Do you have the same problem? Any idea on how to fix it? Seems to be a firmware issue.

The current ROM is giving me problems with the 4g network of my country Ecuador. I found a rom for Mexico and I think that could work better for me.
A few days ago I tried to flash it through msmdownloadtool, however, as it had a different ProgID, it could not be done.
For that reason I would like to know if there is any way to do this. I thank you in advance for your kind answers.
Currently not possible, have the same EU phone with same update but different region operater - but could be possible if wrote new PCB - CPU & QC info, but must have intranet developer option or needed development flash files regarding possible change.
The majority problems regarding network and network related settings is/are located in QCN and EFS.
Programing this you'll correct current problems without changing / flashing ...
