capacitive styluses work on my tab 2 10", i use one i bought long ago.
Yes I have a stylus and it works great on mine.
As far as notes, Evernote is hard to beat. I use it every day for work and have over 40 notes stored. I can get to them from the office, home, my gtab or my phone. Give it a try. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evernote&hl=en
To answer the original thread, yes there is a pen memo. The keyboard is smaller so just laid out slightly different. To find it, open memo, start a new memo and act like you're going to type something to bring up the keyboard. Then hit the 123 button to activate the numeric and symbol keyboard and in the lower right you will see the capital T with the pen on it. HIt that, and you go into pen memo (handwriting) mode.
FUnny how the subject changed and no one answered the original ?

You're talking about "T Memo" on the p3113? Version 1.0? With the Samsung keyboard? I don't have the "T" to bring up handwriting mode. I'm running a custom ROM so I may not have the stock/current version of the app.
Try note everything, catch, evernote or handrite free from google play
Or try ported supernote app from asus work in our tab

I have just bought a note 5 to find there is no screen mirroring on this phone.
I have also tried to download the Samsung link app but it says it is not compatible with this phone.
Does anyone have any ideas, i only want to stream my videos to a Samsung T.V.
So far this phone has been a huge dissapointment, no external memory and now they take away something i tended to use everyday.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

I used screen mirroring the day I bought it.

Well since the OP didn't say it wasn't working, I didn't feel the need to say how.
The OP said screen mirroring isn't on the device. Simply pulling down the notification shade shows the button to enable it.
Funny
If your phone is not rooted you should have no problem with screen mirroring if it's rooted you simply need to add a few words so that you can allow it to work again. It works it's there
Note 5 doesn't sees chromecast as screen mirroring device... Anyone have this issue?
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
You can also access screen mirroring from the Gallery by clicking share, screen mirroring is one of the options.
Pull down the notification panel and press "Edit" should be on the top right corner and it should pop up there
I don't think chromecast works with the built in screen mirroring. You have to use the chromecast app it's just as easy.
Go to About Device in Settings. Click on Status. Scroll to the bottom. If it say anything but "official" you won't be able to use a bunch of different Samsung apps that do a status check.
I had the same problem. Pull down notification bar select quick connect.
Figured I'd look into your request. First goto menu on Samsung TV, then goto network. Should then see a screen mirroring choose, select that. Then like mentioned, select screen mirroring in drop-down and Samsung TV choice should appear. In future you may just need to activate screen mirror after this initial connect. This was done from my Note 4, as well as my Note 5!
Hope this was helpful.
I'm having trouble connecting the screening mirroring with my tv...I have the Samsung all share hub...help!
hey . ive rooted my phone and in the status it doesnt say official but custom .. ofcourse cos its rooted
now what steps do i need to go through to enable screen mirrorring ?
thanks
My N920T is rooted so of course Status says Custom. Screen mirroring works perfectly fine for me with an Amazon Fire TV.

Thank you for that tip! I just upgraded from a Note 4 (SM-910T) to the Note 5 (SM-920I) and lost the menu option for screen mirroring. Your instructions worked perfectly. Annoying that we have to do that, but glad that the functionality is still there.
I found a tricky way to mirror video from Note5 to tv.
Pick any picture from your gallery.
At the bottom , there is a pop- up screen , choose share option.
Then choose mirroring option. Then your phone will look for tv or devices that you want to connect. After you choose that tv or device. Your phone will hook up and everything that shows on note5 includeing video will show on tv.
Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter
My Note 5 with Lolipop 5.1.1 doesn't work with my Microsoft Wirless Display Adapter...it sees it and tries to connect but never does it. My Note 3 on Kitkat 4.4.2 works better than anything I have every seen with this adapter, there is almost no lag! (unlike with Chromecast) I read that Lolipop broke a lot of phone's Screen Mirroring capabilities. Anyone know why or how to fix it yet?
I am having a problem with my Note 5 on Verizon and want to see if anyone else is having the same issue. if you pick up the stylus and choose Screen Write, and then switch to another application, there is no way to get back to your annotated screen earlier. Can anyone confirm that this is the case. Samsung support says it works fine.
I can't do it either, not without multi window.

So does anyone know how to fix it? That is kind of a problem particularly when the Note 5 is for taking notes..... Otherwise what is the point??
Scratch that, can't do it with multi window either.
I did it. I opened chrome, pulled out the same s-pen, and started screen write. Then using lmt launcher I opened messages. Using the back button to get out of messages took me back to chrome with the screen write still active.
I think the problem is once the screen is cleared which happens when choosing recents or going to the app drawer, screen write gets cancelled.

No because that requires clearing the screen, which clears screen write.
Just save it in the Gallery. You can open the Gallery and annnotate til your hearts content. The Gallery is Multi View so you can reference other apps at the same time if you want to. I use Screen Write to capture something interesting for business or funny/cute to share with friends. The former I save in folders in Scrapbook and the latter I MMS or e-mail. So for me it's not broken.

If you save it to the galery, and you write and have to switch again, then you still lose the contents. It seems to me more like a bug rather than a feature particularly when that is supposed to be the purpose of using it for annotation.
My plan was to use this for feature for meetings. You are going over the agenda etc. and then you want to take notes on top of an existing document and then save it or share it to Evernote etc.
I use S Note for everything you described. That's what it's designed for. Screen Write is for quickly capturing and annotating something. It's not even a persistent app which is why it goes away when it loses focus. And what difference does it make if you annotate<>save or save <>annotate?
I just bought the Note 8 coming off the Note 4 and absolutely love it. But I had a nearly 2.5 hr meeting/brainstorming session at work today with my team and wrote prolifically. Near the end I got text or a call or something and navigated away from the Samsung Notes app and forgot about it for while. When I went back to check it a few hours later, it was no where to be found.
I used the S Note app with Note 4 extensively and it always autosaved whatever I wrote, but all I can find now is the single memo I took from yesterday's meeting. I've tried the My Files app, but that thing seems quite worthless and I found nothing anyway. Is it possible it's still playing hide-and-go-seek with me somewhere? How can I find it?
long in to your samsung account and open Samsung Notes and hit the three dots on top right and go to settings. Then tap on sync with samsung account.
Thanks for the suggestion, but had already tried that and only managed to deepen my despair. So, does the Samsung Notes (which I assume is just the new S Note with a few new tricks?)not automatically save the memoranduming as it did on my Note 4?
Ask Bixby.
Bixby knows where your notes are.
If only Pepperidge Farms had an app for the Note 8. They'd remember what happened to my note and everything that was in it as well.

Since my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910C had been starting to develop issues, while I am in Hong Kong. Which was probably due to the latest OS updates. Or it could be due to the fact that my N910C doesn't support the use of LTE-A bands, which HK Cell Providers are starting to adopt. I decided to upgrade to the Note 8. I managed to find the Korean N950N model with 256GB of internal storage for an excellent price. The only catch was that they only had it in Deep Sea Blue and they didn't know when they would get the Midnight Black version back in stock. I bite the bullet and got it. The shop owner was nice enough to give me a slight discount. He also installed a case friendly screen protector that didn't work very well with the Spigen Tough Armor. It is not too much of a problem. Just that the part that protects the sensors pop loose from time to time. I am amaze at how fast the Note 8 running, it can handle anything I throw it's way like it was nothing. The placement of the fingerprint scanner isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The iris scanner is pretty good when I have my Note 8 positioned properly. I was able to transfer everything(except my UK Whatsapp account) from my N910C to my N950N using Smartswitch , which was incredible. The Secure Folder is useful for storing my personal files and apps, I managed to put my UK Whatsapp number in there.
The only downside is that some of the old S Note features are now gone! I can no longer take a picture and have it converted into an editable document like in my N910C. Which was a very useful feature, I guess that Samsung must have removed it.
You can install the old S Note app, search for it
Hello,
How much does it cost?

I paid HK$5699 for my N950N, which converts to GB£518. Which is a steal! As the 256gb UK model of the Note 8 cost around £900

Tried it. But even that doesn't have the photo note function. Which is strange as the S Note app on my N910C has been updated to the latest version, and it still has the photo note function.
After installing the Oreo update. I noticed that one of my games Texas Hold'em Poker 3 no longer takes up the full screen when it loads. Even if I have the game set to fit the entire screen. Other than that everything looks the same. Except the Settings Menu has been brought up to the S9S series GUI. There maybe some performance increase but I didn't notice any.
Still rocking my N950N. Even after the release of the N960N. My N950N is still a beast. The camera quality is excellent despite being a single aperture lens.
Just installed the Android Pie update for my N950N. I have noticed that when my device boots up it takes a few seconds longer for the keyboard to appear for me to enter my password. Besides that everythings seems pretty snappy. I am not fond of the One UI. I prefer Samsung UI, which came with Nougat and Oreo. One UI seems way too cartoony. The buttons and icons for all the Samsung apps seem to be designed with kids in mind. I like that you can just use swipe gestures to navigate the device, which eliminates the need for navigation buttons.
I have also discovered that the game launcher doesn't include the stretch to full screen option anymore, which is a shame as that worked fir stretching games to full the display very well. Figured out how to fix this problem in the Settings Menu.
Just discovered that you can no longer disable Bixby once you have installed the Pie update onto the Note 8. :crying::crying:

But you can now remap the button to any app you want.
Now there is a option for a single press and a double press.
Just got the Bixby update.
edit.
Know I have Google search open up when I single press instead of Bixby and if I want Bixby double press.
But holding down the Bixby button will bring up Bixby voice command.
Have you tried a third party app to disable it?

Go to Bixby voice settings and tap on voice wake up. It's there, look at my previous post with screenshots you can set the option.
If not there update Bixby.
Now the feature does it like Google style with voice unlock. Meaning it just unlocks when you say "Hi Bixby" without asking you for a voice password.
