So I've been researching the great scales of the Internet for anything that would allow us to have ANY form of AOSP on this carrier locked POS. Not just a themed version of TW but legit. I've seen on the S4 that there were safestrap compatible versions. I was wondering what had happened to the S5 that this wasn't possible anymore?
No going happen with locked bootloader. Best u can get well be Xtreme Dynamic Kat rom. @talkingmonkey had done good job taking over dynamic kat.
I agree. I've been running TM's version for the past few days and it's fantastic. I was just curious as to why a safestrap compatible version of AOSP was available on bl locked phones in the past, but not on our S5?

The exploit that allowed the S4 to flash custom kernels and AOSP Roms was patched in subsequent updates from AT&T. The S5 has for lack of a better explanation kind of a sidestep recovery that uses the stock kernel only hence the ability to flash other T/W Roms, mods and themes.
As far as a Safestrap compatible version of AOSP on a locked bootloader I'm not sure if it was AOSP or just themed to look that way.
I'm afraid the bootloader will stay locked tight as a drum.
If any of you have a cricket phone and assumed it was locked down since cricket is at&t, it is not locked and you can flash anything you want... Just fyi
sent from my lollipop'd S5
just bought an 805 but where are all the AOSP ROMS!!
Right here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59128530
Just downloading that now but ateany devs working on porting any others
Not sure if any developers here owns a Galaxy S6. If anyone able to port Ubuntu Touch latest to Galaxy S6 would be very appreciated.
I believe that roms of anything that isn't android will not work due to the Exynos processors not having their kernel sources released.

Excuse my ignorance as I don't have any development experience more than being a script kiddy, but was not the old Ubuntu Touch roms just sampling from CM11 sources for most of the drivers and kernel stuff?
As I say, I don't really know anything but I thought that was how it went. I don't care if there is an S6 ROM but I just want to see any port of Ubuntu touch on any device I have.
Edit: Actually it looks like it was CM10.1 for the old ones from like 2013.
Later they moved to CM11, and they may use 12 now, I'm not sure.
Just curious if any of the custom ROMs that aren't based on stock support Active display or Moto Voice? I haven't seen anything listed in the ROM posts.
Since Moto moved all the features to their own apps is it possible to just install them and it work?
Thanks.
Most of the Custom ROMs are CM12 based or AOSP based which doesn't utilize the X8 chipset architecture.

Hi.
I don't get it. Moto x has x8 chipset. But customs roms does not utilizate it. This make me think that custom roms are not optimized for this device, so they should not be flashed. Am I right?
I'm new to this moto. I only want to learn.
I have been searching for over a week trying to figure how what version of Xposed if any will work on the AT&T Galaxy S5 Active, I have yet too find the correct info. Can someone please verify that Xposed works on the g870a model and what version framework is needed, the newest stable version of course.
I am on lollipop with the OF3 deodexed root using flashfire. I haven't installed safestrap yet but have all the correct info to do so once I figure out if Xposed will work or not.
Also I heard that only certain modules work so maybe a list of do's and don't if not too much trouble. Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated.
I believe I found the correct thread for installing Xposed, I was looking at the official framework the entire time. Can someone please confirm if this works with the g870a model?

Here are the specs for the chip set of my Galaxy S5 Active (g870a).
CPU:Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC v3
Browse devices based on Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC v3
Width of Machine Word:32 bit
CPU Core:4x Qualcomm Krait 400
Instruction Set:ARMv7
I'm still not certain which file I need, I'm not sure if I need the Krait version or the Snapdragon version of framework? I have reason to believe it's one of these two, just need someone to confirm please before I install. I would like the newest stable version if at all possible.
