HIi xda's,
I am in wait for Xiaomi to unchain my BL .....after so...
Can you please link me to a guide, to safely and easily root the mentioned phone ? (redmi 4x 32gb 3gb. with "miui 8.5.2.0 stable" global version ROM).
Is there any issues with MIUI rooted ROM, except to problems with OTA ?
( i just want to root that device safely so i can edit some system files like HOST etc...) at this moment, i want to stay with the original ROM.)
Thank you.
and sorry for my English in advanced.
Hello.
If it can help you.
I 'm running this rom, i've rooted it with magiksk V14.
you must install twrp before root.
Good luck.
I have just got the permission from Xiaomi and unlocked my BL :good:
most of the new guides of how to install twrp and root, are old or in Hindi, can you please link me to an english tutorial that will work on the relevant version ?
Thank you.

Did you install the official twrp or Cofface ?
i want to stay with the original rom, what is the best method not to lose twrp after rebooting into system, if i install the official twrp ?
thank you.

I originally went with the cofface version since I also wanted to use the stock rom
Eventually I flashed a few custom roms and decided to update to the official twrp later on
If it helps someone,
i flashed TWRP on redmi 4x with "miui 8.5.2.0 stable" global version ROM following that link : https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredmi4x.html.
don't forget to root, right after you flash TWRP

Hi,
If i understood correctly;
1) You flashed official TWRP by "fastboot install method", right?
2) Which root method and version did you use? Supersu or magisk or..?
3) You are still on official global stable v8.5.2.0, and official Twrp is still installed (not replaced), right?
And also, i wonder if i can boot to official TWRP recovery temporarily (without installing to the device) and flash Magisk v14.0 afterwards, still on official global stable v8.5.2.0. Will try soon.

yes, you understand correctly the twrp flash method.
i flashed first magisk v12 and then update it to v14. you can flash v14 right away, no probs. now i have changed to 8.5.4.0 global stable(nougat...), and i flashed latest ver of supersu and everything works just great.

I suggest Magisk. It is more battery-friendly than superSU.

Make sure to install Magisk manager also.
Hi, I've been trying to root my phone for a while now. I tried installing twrp mauronofrio and orange fox, but when I flash the magisk zip, it enters in some kind of bootloop, but it takes me to the recovery again. I've tried uninstalling magisk, so it will make my phone work again, but then I have to install the recovery again. So, anyone knows why I can't flash magisk nor keep the recovery?
Thanks

Great happy to hear that.
Could you please tell me which version you use now?
You only flashed xiaomi.ec rom and magisk?
Xiaomi.eu rom via twrp root with magisk =gg
Great.
Which version you have installed? Could you please tell me to know which to download.?
As far as I can see you haven't formatted your data! You need to format your data before rebooting to system!

I tried the method on this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic-3/how-to/red-magic-3-root-guide-t3933148, but I'm stuck in an endless reboot state. I've done this on the RM3 both global and CN ROM, but just can't get it to work on the RM3s Global model.

Hey I tried using the fw you are using but im still getting the same issue that my phone keeps rebooting. Not sure what im doing wrong because i've done this on the older gen model before and worked fine. What version of magisk are you using and are you able to tell me the steps you done when you rooted your phone?
Sorry for the late reply I'm using latest magisk 20.2, first of all my device is rm3 using rm3s fw with unlocked bootloader.
Step:
1. Flashing rm3s fw with rm3s tools and update it to the latest
2. Flash twrp
3. Flash magisk.zip in twrp
4. Wipe cache/dalvik in twrp
5. Reboot.
That's all.

No worries about the reply. Also one more question what version of twrp are you using? Because I heard you can't install/flash twrp with the global rom.
I'm using twrp 3.3.1-3, global rm3 fw cannot use twrp but global rm3s fw can.

U dont need twrp. U only need a boot.img from your rom. You can donwload it. And launch with the magisk.
Hi, currently my 9t pro has version 12.0.5 (Android 10).
I have root with magisk 25.2 and the twrp version is 3.5.2.9.0 (I point out that, every time I enter recovery, it asks me for the screen unlock pin, without which I cannot access).
I would like to upgrade to version 12.5.2.0 (Android 11).
Do I just boot into twrp, insert the lock screen pin, install the above update, wipe cache and dalvik, install the magisk zip and reboot?
Or am I obliged to update twrp when changing the Android version? The latest version of twrp released for my device seems to me to be 3.6.2.9.0
A thousand thanks

TWRP v3.6.2 should be ok with A10.
On the other side, A11 (AFAIK) will not work with v3.5.2.
Hence better update TWRP
The rest should work the way you descried, just make sure that you upgrade from Global to Global (or EEA to EEA, etc) - ie, not from Global to EEA or so (that would require flashing the Fastboot ROM)
You can also wipe from TWRP:
/data/system/package_cache
PS:
Disable/uninstall Smali Patcher or similar Magisk modules that were specific for the old ROM - to avoid bootloop upon upgrading the ROM and flashing Magisk (if you do not uninstall Magisk, all modules and everything will be back upon your upgrade)

Would you please explain to me how I can upgrade twrp from 3.5.2 to 3.6.2? I also have the official twrp app.
As for the magisk modules these are the ones I currently have installed. Do you think it is better to uninstall magisk directly before entering twrp and flash the new rom and magisk zip?

As usual - TWRP.me, download, find your device, download img and flash to Recovery (you can do from current TWRP or from Fastboot)
Maybe you better disable that liboencrypto module
Or you can try with but study Magisk GitHub Wiki, how to fix the bootloop caused by incompatible modules

The twrp update flash so I can do it directly from the application?
Instead, to avoid a possible bootloop just uninstall that module? Do all the others give problems?

No need to install twrp. It is enough to flashed the patched by Magisk boot.img. What version of miui do you have, 13 or 14?
Already exists a non-TWRP recovery (by @santoshhh000) for Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G (MIUI 14.0.10) (ruby/rubypro). The steps and files are in this link from youtube channel AllTricks. Follow carefully every step in the video.
It is called BEGONIA Recovery Project MIUI v3.7.0 A12.
I have successfuly installed the recovery and later rooted the device (with a inner procedure inside the recovery, based on Magisk) and everything is fine except that the backup operation of the Data partition (excl. storage) inside recovery fails at 80%., aproximately. I hope @santoshhh000 will fix that error soon. Nonetheless I am quite pleased with that recovery as a beginning.
