Full access to SD card? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Has anyone found a way to get full write permissions to the micro sd card? I used xinternalsd before, but currently can't without xposed. Is there any other way to get the write permissions?

Store apps on internal storage instead of SD?

I'm tired of my SD card getting corrupted. Is there a way to install apps to internal storage instead of the SD card? Is there a simple hack to fool Nook into thinking the internal is the SD card? Thanks!

There is a setting in CM7 to do that. By default it is "automatic" meaning the app decides where to go. You can change it to card only or internal only.
Some apps, even installed in the internal memory, for some reason, it REQUIRES the external uSD card installed in order to work. Other way to say is: some apps won't work if no uSD card plugged in.

Spend the $6 and buy Titanium backup for the nook and setup an account with dropbox.

Dropbox and External SD Card?

I can't get dropbox to see my sdcard. I've already done the mod where I've given write access to my sdcard. Anyone come up with a workaround?

[Q] Make the SD the "default" memory

Hi, I have a Moto G 2014 with Stock 5.0.2 rooted, and I bought a 32GB SD Card a few days ago. The thing is that everything is still going to the internal memory, instead of the SD (photos, downloads, etc.), so I want to know if it's a way to make everything write on the SD card without messing up the phone (I heard I can mount SD in /sdcard changing init.rc but I don't want to do that). I also want to move my WhatsApp chats to the SD too, hehehehe (WhatsApp data is in the internal :'c)
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
For the photos and videos part, you can select from the camera application if you want to store them in the internal memory or on the SD card. For applications I think they are installed in the internal memory by default but you can move them after installation on the SD card by going to settings -> apps -> touch app -> move to SD card. To change the default installation location you need the android SDK installed on your PC and adb and then to edit a file. But I do not recommend this since the SD card is not accessible while the phone is connected to the PC. This will make applications that always run to work improperly(widgets, Facebook, etc. might generate a lot of errors because of it).
I think it's a Xposed module for that.

if you're rooted then try link2sd from play store. you need to have an ext partition on your sd card for this to work.
if you are not rooted then you will have to manually create symlinks to the files on the sd card.

Better try Link2SD. The procedure to turn your external SD to internal storage causes a lot of trouble in most cases.
There are also scripts that link the possible apps and libraries automatically to the SD card when installing them.

Allow Apps to Write to SD Without Root?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had found a way to allows apps installed on the BLU R1 HD to write to the SD card? I've always had bad luck with rooting phones in the past and I do my best to avoid it, so I'd prefer to do it without rooting the phone. I just want to keep podcasts and the like on my SD card rather than on the limited internal storage 8/
I have used an exposed module to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-marshmallow-sd-fix-write-t3403263 But, of course, you would have to be rooted. This phone is one of the easiest to root that I've had. Google considers it a security hole to let applications write anywhere they want on the SD card.
switching to adopted storage and you can write apps to sd.
also I should add don't believe the box, I have my 128gb card working perfect as internal storage (box says up to 64gb)
also rooting the phone is one of the easiest root processes, you should just go for it

Apps can't see MicroSD card

Hi.
I have tried several MicroSD cards in my Remix Mini, and while the built in file manager recognises and can read and write as expected it seems no third party apps can access it. (SD Maid pro detected external storage, but there was no way to give it permission to access it) I have tried a factory reset.
How can i get apps to access the External Storage?
Please, does anyone have a solution for this. I can't get Netflix to see the SD card for downloads.
