OnePlus Support - OnePlus 5 Guides, News, & Discussion

This is a notice to anyone who has or will be dealing with Oneplus support for any reason. If you have already dealt with them, then you understand why this thread would be necessary.
Oneplus may actually have the worst support on the planet. Their employees always seem like it's their first day and they can barely speak english. Especially when it comes to returns, even simple things become an issue. Here is one helpful fact that might save some of you the trouble i have been though: they need your permission to close an open ticket.
I ordered a Karbon case from OP website. The photograph on the website showed that it was an 'all around" case that came up on the edges of the screen, and covered the buttons. i got it in the mail, apparently re-engineered to only hug the back and no longer covered the buttons. in fact, the misleading pictures are still up on their site (https://oneplus.net/oneplus-5-karbon-bumper-case). be warned, the case does NOT look like that.
in short, they have been demanding that i pay the return shipping. i have refused. it was false advertising. i've had maybe 5 different people, including a supervisor tell me that this is not possible. they then proceed to ask if they can mark the ticket as "solved". when i say "no", things move forward. basically, once a ticket has been opened for you, you are the one who has to give permission to close it. if they mark it as "solved", it's because of your satisfaction. it has kind of become a feedback loop with myself and OP support. once a week they send me a status, asking if they can close it. i say "no", and then they escalate me up the chain. they are actually starting to ask questions about my dissatisfaction now.

Just leave it mate. I can understand your frustration, but what's the point of making from an "mosquito" an "elephant"? I have to deal with this kind of issues whole day and in the end you've got yourself with it. It's not only OnePlus 5 support, happens with other ordering stuff also (from different company's)
Long story short, mistakes happens all the time. If you are lucky? than you are satisfied and there's no need to open a thread for it too. Also if you are unlucky with some thingslike now? same.

p.s don't expect that OP Customer Service will see this thread with youre frustration and all. They won't. And if they see it, maybe they can learn from their mistakes (hopefully). Thats all.

Ordered it and got the linked case and it was like on the picture.

This is not the bumper this the protective case has open sides and bottom.

Wow those "Commuter" model ones are sharp!!! I just added my interest/request via that form....hope they release one and soon! A little pricey perhaps, but I'd pay it if they're as nice as they look

Honestly, A good case is worth $30 or so to me. I have a $450 phone and am absolutely OCD about scratches, especially on the screen. I like PDair but they like everyone else has yet to release a US version. I ordered the Fommy rubberized plastic but it isnt shipping for a couple weeks. I have Otterbox cases and can say the fit/finish is second to none. Plus the commmuter is thin and actually protects well. I think if they get enough interest, they will make it.

Yes I agree, and those are easily the nicest ones I've seen so far.
I also got a very quick reply from their service team...same exact wording as the one you got

Yep, that's a nice looking case right there. We need more people to sign up there (that are also committing to purchase) so we can convince them that there is a demand for it.

Commited or not, as long as they keep seeing TMO HD2, I think we are in good shape. But as always is comes down to the bottom dollar. Hopefully we can just keep getting people to request it through the site.
Yeah, I sent in my request as well. I probably won't get it considering I've got this new invisibleSHIELD from Zagg, but I'm all about more accessories for our phone
I too just send my requests in. hopefully they will change there minds and make it for us. if enough peep flood their mail box for TMO HD2.

You did see that the one that's coming is for the European version of the HD2, right?

Sounds a little more optimistic than previous replies.
i have the defender case for my 3gs....it has saved my iphone twice....once from a ladder...3 feet to a concrete floor and another time down a half flight of concrete steps...about 10 steps. it paid for itself many times over and the iphone still works great

Done. I've always wanted an otterbox case for one of my phones since I first saw the Iphone defender case.

They seemed interested... excellent chance to impact design.
I like their cases, because they have a pretty good belt clip and are pretty tough.
THEY MADE ONE...for the Dell venue pro. That's right. They made a case for a phone that nobody has. But yet they have no plans for a case for the top selling wp7 device. WTF.
This makes ZERO sense.
Well... except I can almost bet you Dell get in on them making it since Dell's logo is on the back of the case.
Dell needs to worry about being able to ship out a working product before making a case for it.

I for one will not beg them in a survey, I will never use another one of their cases again, that is what people should tell them not beg them to make a case for the most popular Windows phone currently in production.

Otterbox will not be developing a case for the Samsung Focus. They've gone out of their way for the HD7, yay for them.

Hi everyone. Unfortunately we will not be making a case for the Focus. Because the Windows 7 phones were such a new product, it was difficult to gauge which device would take the day. Unfortunately, we underestimated the demand for the Focus and did not design a case for it. With the amount of R&D time that goes into our cases, we just don't feel we can now deliver an option in a timely fashion. We apologize if we have disappointed our Otter fans - we do our best to idenfity which devices should get awesome OtterBox protection, but occasionally miss the mark.

They didn't "miss the mark".. they flat-out didn't bother with trying, IMO. They've had far more than enough time to look into this.
A real shame.
They have 265 posts in a few short weeks, requesting that they make this case. I'm at a loss.
I messaged them again the other day and they said there will be no case.

Well so much for Ottercase. Poor response to customers suggests that we should take our business else where and not look back. I typically never go back to a brand that doesn't care about previous customers.

Damaged my casing, felt like crying :(

I've been meaning to order a silicon or other type of protective casing/sleeve etc since im quite prone to dropping devices, luckily never done any real damage.
Yesterday I had my Tab in the inside pocket of my jacket and when I pciked my jacket up to put it on it slipped out ad I swung jacket and the Tab came crashing down to the bumpy concrete floor.
My tab now has scratches/dints in two corners, I'm so [email protected] pissed at myself for leaving it this long to place order.
Needless to say I will be ordering right away.
Does anybody know of a way to get the casing replaced as I would kind of like it to be pristine as I've only had it little over a month.

I just googled for the casing. Best I could find is the backpart. But you said the edges where damaged.
I would advise you to rather spend that money on a really nice case and cover those dents up.
So I don't use a case either, because I don't want the tab to get bulky.
So I can't recommend a case too you.
But this relies quite heavily on personal preference in anyway.

If I were you i would not replace the casing but spend the money on a real good case, that can handle people's clumsyness (like you and me ), the Otterbox.
Atheist bud. Samsung repair center does replace casing but for a fee (sorry buddy warranty doesn't cover accidents).

2) I'd think getting a nice sleek case would be a better option than cracking the tab open... unless you already have (which wouldn't surprise me ) I have one that adds only a couple of millimeters of thickness and protects with silicon AND plastic. (Nice latches on the corners provide extra protection on the sides/corners) I like it.
3) This thread is likely to get closed by days end... So I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in regarding the ACTUAL topic at hand.

Well tbh I want to do both. I want to replaced the chipped housing and then get a protective sleve or casing aswell.

Fair enough, I just don't see paying to much to be worth it if 99% if the time it's covered by the case... But for the right price, can't say I'd want any different for my precious tab.

Beware of TreeGloo Poor Quality Nexus 7 and total Crooks

I ordered a case from them for my ipad and had to get my credit card company involved to get my money back after receiving a broken ipad case. It had a crack where they glue it together. They dont use one piece of wood.
Search them on the web and you will see that they have scammed and screwed over plenty of people. Enough to where Leo Laporte even commented. Could be a different Leo than the Tech, but its still a person. MacRumors, Android Central, and multiple other places have negative comments about these guys. I wouldn't be surprised if they fold and take the cash and not deliver.
To each his own but Im going Portenzo. Lea took care of me when I ordered my iPad case and it held up well. I sold it and got almost what I paid for it. Their build quality is like nothing else.
Check the YouTube Video DODO vs. Portenzo iPad 3 case review. Two enter, one leaves. It is going to be a knockout.
Its a review on their iPad 3 case but it compares theirs and DoDos build quality. No comparison. The review is also entertaining in its own way. Not like sitting through some review where the buy lays the product on a table and points the camera at it while he tries to act the a journalist. I dont think this guys actually cares other than to show people DoDo sucks. He also appears to have a coctail.
Does anyone else know of a great case like the Portenzo to recommend? Even though Port looks like the one it never hurts to look. You guys are the experts.

I was curious (because I'm a fan of Leo Laporte), and all I could find was this guy's post everywhere leading to the same video mentioned here: pushing Portenzo, bashing Dodocase, and mad at Treegloo. He never even got a Treegloo case and here he's saying it broke?
I don't know if this is some kind of lame tactic to push Portenzo sales, but it's in really bad taste.
Regardless of if this guy is trying to get video views I've heard portenza cases were pretty good. A little pricey for me but from reviews they seem like the route to go for these kinds of cases.

I will say the one TG case that I've seen in person, one of the corners was completely broken off (iPad).
I asked the guy (business executive for a major software company) and he said that he broke it off within 2 weeks of having it, and the case wasn't as sturdy as he expected. He still liked it though.
I'm just going to buy a hardback book/notebook and hollow out the pages and make a case myself. I don't see the need to pay ~$40 bucks when I can do the same thing myself for so much cheaper.
This just reeks of spam.

People were asking about quality and what they thought about the TreeGloo product on this forum so I responded. That video you accused me of sending people to for views is one that shows Portenzo quality and I liked the review so I shared it. Do you ever tell people about companies or products that didnt live up to your expectation ie sucked? Do you ever tell people about a product you dig or a restaurant you liked to eat at. Why would I want someone elses video to get views? If it was my video, what would I gain anyways? I have a friend with a channel on YouTube and they don't make crap. He gets 10k to 20k a week in views and might make 50 a month.
So this is what you get when you try to expose a company that is screwing people over. Some lame comment and a Portenzo marketing conspiracy ploy? If you knew what I did, I think your comment about me helping Portenzo or being Portenzo would go away pretty quickly.
As for other companies I know a little about, Pad&Quill has nice quality cases (very nice) but I don't see anything on their site for the 7 but if they did this would be my second choice unless they trump Port in some way for design, and DoDo 34 bucks but its not like a regular dodo portfolio case and looks cheap. There is also another company called RookCase pre-order for 39! that is making a case for the 7. They can make a case out of an actual book. I have one of their book cases for an iPad by Johnny Cash. Very cool and I get complements on it all the time. The only issue is that the wooden tray is no as refined as Pad or Port but still cool.
Other than being some total tool the only other reason you would post a reply other than one like the others is because you work for TreeGloo or they had you post this for them because they or you saw my post and want to mitigate damage (Thats an attack on integrity and a simple name calling rudeness, forgive me.). Please do us all a favor at your expense, I encourage you to buy from them and let us all know how it works out for you. Its interesting that I post facts (F with BBB) about a company and not just my opinion but others and you simply attack my post and try to create some other motive for my intention of pointing out scum. I thought thats what we do on forums and in the tech community. Watch out for each other. You will buy from who you like, I don't make that decision for you but I think members here deserve to hear about a company that appears to be legit based on their nice website and a few reviews but in fact is one I am staying away from. Yes, I like Portenzo and tell people about my case from them and experience buying from them because their service and quality is above average in a world that companies sell ok products with below average service. That said, my case was $140
I try to help and you attack my integrity. I have posted this on some forums that I am a member of. Why wouldnt I? Didnt you see the other posts from other people, even ones dating back a year that talk about how TreeGloo is a joke.
Also, as for Portenzo, I have not seen one post that says they sell garbage or have not delivered and I doubt you will find negative stuff about Pad and Quill or Rookcase. Im not marketing for them either.. If I said the Nexus 7 was killer on MacRumors would you accuse me of working for Google?
I have my opinions and then there are those of others and then there are just simple facts. In the end, none of this affects my wallet since I am not a part of any of these companies but I hope at least I can help contribute to a forum where I have been lurking since I got my Bionic on launch day.
If this helps one of you guys out there to not get scammed I know I did my part and contributed something rather than just ranted, took, and accused others on this forum. By the way, spam smells pretty good when cooked in butter over a nice hot stove.

I had to take a look at your few posts. You have been pitching TreeGloo and no one else. Your accusing me when in half of your posts you are promoting a feature of TreeGloo case or ragging on someone elses. I simply have an agenda of telling people about how they might get crap or get screwed by TreeGloo. I like plenty of case companies but thats not one of them and right now I like Portenzo but that does not make me an employee of theirs. I have at least spoke highly of a couple other companies in my posts in the past such as Pad and Quill and RookCase. All your comments about other companies other than TreeGloo are negative. You even go into some technical specifics about their case. Its not me that should be looked as a spammer, its you.
Instead of simply talking about your experience with TreeGloo, you dont even mention it. You can make all the claims you want (seems they are just your claims) but there are plenty of other posts including an entire thread on MacRumors started by their most senior member calling TreeGloo crooks. Enough time spent on this... Home someone sees through the TreeGloo bs by this guy and stays clear of them. Look at the others, there are plenty of companies to buy from that dont have their reputation of screwing people over and delivering crap products that dont match their site.
There have been a lot of negative reviews of TreeGloo, for long waits/sub par quality. That being said, there have also been plenty of negative reviews about DoDoCase as they are always falling apart and have to be glued back together and Portenzo as well for the significantly long delivery/production times. In the dealings that I have had with TreeGloo they have shown great customer service so I can't speak negatively of them anymore than I could of DoDo or Potenzo.
I had initially wanted to go with TreeGloo then changed my mind to Portenzo, and TreeGloo was good about cancelling my order but my $$$$ have not yet been refunded yet. Now, Ive decided to to play a wait and see game until I have more information and other people start reviewing thier respective cases. I really love how thin and light my N7 is and I constantly question whether I even want to add a bulky frame to it. I am still intrigued by Portenzo and TreeGloo and now Reauthored and RookCase so I will likely go with the case that gets the best reviews and is the thinnest of the bunch.
There are a lot of options for very similiar cases out there. I just suggest that people do their reserach. It is worth mentioning, however that TreeGloo is rated "F" on better business bureau.

There is also another company called RookCase pre-order for 39! that is making a case for the 7. They can make a case out of an actual book. I have one of their book cases for an iPad by Johnny Cash. Very cool and I get complements on it all the time. The only issue is that the wooden tray is no as refined as Pad or Port but still cool.
Other than being some total tool the only other reason you would post a reply other than one like the others is because you work for TreeGloo or they had you post this for them because they or you saw my post and want to mitigate damage (Thats an attack on integrity and a simple name calling rudeness, forgive me.). Please do us all a favor at your expense, I encourage you to buy from them and let us all know how it works out for you. Its interesting that I post facts (F with BBB) about a company and not just my opinion but others and you simply attack my post and try to create some other motive for my intention of pointing out scum. I thought thats what we do on forums and in the tech community. Watch out for each other. You will buy from who you like, I don't make that decision for you but I think members here deserve to hear about a company that appears to be legit based on their nice website and a few reviews but in fact is one I am staying away from. Yes, I like Portenzo and tell people about my case from them and experience buying from them because their service and quality is above average in a world that companies sell ok products with below average service. Also, as for Portenzo, I have not seen one post that says they sell garbage or have not delivered and I doubt you will find negative stuff about Pad and Quill or Rookcase. Im not marketing for them either.. If I said the Nexus 7 was killer on MacRumors would you accuse me of working for Google?
I have my opinions and then there are those of others and then there are just simple facts. In the end, none of this affects my wallet since I am not a part of any of these companies but I hope at least I can help contribute to a forum where I have been lurking since I got my Bionic on launch day.

Just a couple pages with someone posted a "I never got my Treegloo", and several people afterwards replying "me either!". Those are just two random links I clicked when Google'd for "Treegloo". Not even "Treegloo review" or anything else... So, IF you get what you order that's great, otherwise you apparently pay them for the privilege of using their fabulous website.

All the research I had done was all a year old. Newer posts seemed to indicate things had gotten better. All my emails have been promptly responded to. It seems the negativity was due to being overwhelmed with iPad2 orders back in 2011. We will see how it goes when they start shipping next week.

I think that TreeGloo is just a small company that probably cannot manage high volume that well, which is why the production time goes on for weeks. That has been an issue with other companies as well. I don't think its an issue of "scamming" or being a crook. And, I also have noticed that they have changed their design from the 2011 reviews particuarlly their corners. I think a lot of people want customization but are unwilling to wait on the time it actually takes for their customized case to get made.
I thought the company sounded familiar but never though about it until now. A lot of people have had problems with this company and iPad cases. Thanks for the heads up

You make a good point about being a small company and time for delivery but it doesnt explain the compaints from users on several sites and the bbb F.
Thank you for bringing this part up about waiting. If they would have not told me the case had been shipped and another two weeks went by, I might have given them some grace. I would have been more understanding if they would have just told me the truth rather than make me wait a month and then cancel my order because I complained and asked why it wasnt actually shipped. They they wouldnt refund my money until amex forced the refund. Maybe they will straighten out. Competition is good for everyone. It makes all the companies innovate to one up their competition which only helps us. If they turn around and start to treat people with respect and integrity and deliver, more power to them. I wish them the best in that case.

I understand why you asked but I wanted to be thorough in my response. My word and Im sure that the integrity of others here is everything. When that's in question its best to defend it with facts. I tried to do that along with explaining my personal experience. Im sorry if I offended anyone on this forum. I was truly just trying to help by sharing what I know and my own experience. I hope you understand. If this is not the right place for this type of information, please just let me know.
I dont really want to spend any more time on this subject. I think I have said enough. My critics and TreeGloo backers or employees can continue to try and discredit the thread but there is enough evidence here and around the web to back up most of what I said.

This was my whole reason for the post and it turned into a total fiasco. It makes me not want to say anything on here. There is no way of telling if you are getting hosed by the company in question of a real android fan that likes the company which I can respect and mean no hard feelings.
We all share a passion for this stuff and should work together.
I'll give a review of my treegloo when it comes it. All the bad stuff I read was rom pre 2011, all the more recent ones i read are great.

Customized skins ?

Hi everyone, I decided to order a few customized back skins for the note 8 from @slickwraps and it looks like they are slammed with orders. Then I read some horrible reviews on this forums and around the net about this "shady" company ... damn, wish I found the reviews before ordering.
Well, it has been only 3 days, but I really hope everything is ok.
Anyone knows of another company where you can upload your own picture to make the back skin for the note 8? I tried with skinit too, but their skins don't have the camera piece. Dbrand doesn't have an option to customize your skin using your own picture.

I recently ordered a full carbon fiber skin from slickwraps. Not a single issue and order was received a week later. Don't believe the hype.

What's with the hostility? You pointed out that dbrand had a bad score and while failing to realize you guys had the same exact score. No where did he say he wanted a refund and instead hoped that things were going to be fine. Why not just prove to him how you guys provide great customer care instead of trying to bash other companies and belittle him at the same time?
dbrand rocks, have ordered multiple times from them, never anything but perfection. I have the dragon skin on my note 8 right now. Also have the black carbon fiber on my S7E. Ordering more for my girls V30 today.
Also search xda for a killer price on a special package, I think it is 2 for one or something. They might still honor it, but if I remember right you have to use the link from xda to get it.

Thanks for the link, they do seem to have a HUGE selection. Was currently looking for a V30 skin, but they don't have one yet. Could you tell me more about the material? Dbrand uses a thick 3m vinyl, and it's pretty durable, does decal girl use the same?

You seem to be very obnoxious and hasty to cancel the orders, why? I run a company myself and this customer service behavior is highly un-desirable.

Maybe he was having a bad day. But I'm a fair guy, won't let that affect my orders. They will come this following Monday and i'll let you guys know how it goes.

I can see having a bad day but that is a **** move. I would be lying if I said I won't remember this interaction in the future when looking at skins.
Looking at this objectively, I can see where it looks like he was being a bit hasty to resolve whatever issue was at hand. Can you blame him? The whole thread harped on how slow they were supposedly to ship out skins etc. From what I read, he was trying to be somewhat helpful. Everyone needs to stop jumping off the deep end and assuming he's an jerk. Have faith LoL. Don't see anyone on this post with any bad first hand experiences.
I've bought a few slickwraps skins over the years with ZERO issues..
Lighten up, its only a phone skin, its not life or death..

It does feel a little thinner and more flexible; the crosshatch on the back of the Decal Girl skin is thinner than the Dbrand. However, I've had no issues with either being durable. The Decal Girl skin on my Note 2 is still there, in fact, and has stayed put and worn well. Only thing I ever make sure of now is using a hair dryer on low to heat the corners down, and I did the same with the Dbrand on my other phone, otherwise the corners don't always stay down and mold to stick when heated.
I've ordered about half a dozen times from Slickwraps and had had no issues, great skins and quick delivery considering I'm in the UK. However, I ordered a few more skins in their Halloween sale this year and after paying/receiving confirmation of my order, I heard nothing else for five weeks. Considering my previous experiences I did actually contact them after one and then two weeks for an update but got nowhere. Eventually at the fifth week, I emailed and asked for a refund. About five days later I got a very rude email from one of their representatives saying they'd cancelled my order but reluctantly because I should've requested it within two hours of making my original order. How on earth would I have known at that point that I'd have to wait over a month and still be no further with my order, other than them having taken my money? It's ridiculous and not customer friendly at all. I did get my refund though, so was squared in the end but took nearly seven weeks in total for nothing but hassle.
On probability, if they had just apologised and held their hands up to being overwhelmed with orders, I would normally give a company another go as I'd had many more positive experiences with them than negative; but as of the result of the exchange I had with their rep and their terrible attitude towards me as a returning customer, I personally won't use them again now. Another thing I'll add is never pay full price for their skins, it doesn't seem like a month can pass between them have a sale/offer with 30/40/50% off, so be a little patient and your money can go a lot further if you choose to use them (or you might suggest their products are overpriced in the first place if they're willing to discount so frequently).
Personally I now use xtremeskins.co.uk which has excellent quality skins (at least as good as any others I've used over the years) and after three orders are very well priced (the cheapest I've used) and have always delivered within a couple days of order to me. Their range is limited compared to Slickwraps, but still plenty of choice for my tastes.

I have actually ordered several times from both Slickwraps ans DBrand. Never had an issue with either company. Fast shipping from both (though DBrands has always been faster than SW), and quality products.
However, after reading your posts here, @slickwraps, I will move all my business to DBrands. I find it interesting and very telling that you felt it necessary to disparage a competitor rather than standing on your own merits. And your hostility and rudeness to a new customer her on XDA, who you claim to support, is unacceptable. Bad day or not. Shows how very little you care about customer service.

@slickwraps immediately started disparaging a competitor, DBrand in their reply. There was no need for that. If SlickWraps is so great, then they don't need to post negative comments about their competitors. SlickWraps product and customer sercice SHOULD speak for itself.
As far as their reply to the OP, it did come across as rude, but tone is lost in text. Maybe they meant well. I would have rather they replied with something along the lines of explaining they are determined to make the OP happy and will be sure to ship ASAP. Offering to cancel and insulting a competitor all because the OP expressed a concern seems extreme.
I also not that @slickwraps has not returned to this thread to apologize or offer an explanation or do anything..at all...to calm the feelings here. Maybe they don't need the business and don't care about lost business. So be it. If I owned a business and felt my customers were unhappy or were insulted by something I said, I would do my best to make amends. Especially in a community that can make or break my business, a community I claim to support.
But, it none of my business how SlickWraps treats their custoner base. And my business is no longer SlickWraps' business. A simple apology would have prevented them losong customers here.
Why wouldn't I buy somewhere else where I can get equal or better quality, competitive pricing, and a business who treats their customers like they actually WANT their business.
Of course, you can also spend your money wherever you like.
