What is the difference between the back and menu buttons on the notification bar than those found in softkeys?

The notification bar sometimes disappears- especially with full screen apps.

Softkeys is for when the app uses the full screen and you don't have the notification bar to hit "back" on..

This app will auto hide navigation bar we use the navigation bar by swiping or touching a small red line at the biotin of the screen and so we can even play games in fullscreen

Hello,
Do someone know how to remove the menu bar at the bottom of the screen? I mean the bar with the 'home' , 'back', and 'windows' icons. It takes a lot of space and makes the screen look a lot smaller than 5".
Help?

Are you being serious?
So how do you plan to navigate around your phone, they are nav keys for your phone, they are there because there are no hardware ones, without them you phone is pretty much useless to use.
You can buy apps of playstore which hide the keys I have used GMD auto hide soft keys there is a free one to try the paid version has quite a few more settings, there are ROM's that have smaller keys
root, install xposed module and then set navigation bar to 0
Then you can use gravity box with pie controls
Lol, of course not that way. I meant that i wanted to hide the bar in some kind of way. Do you think they will make it less visible in their future updates. Especially when Iæm watching a movie its quite annoying. If they are not going to fix it, they shouldn't say that the screen is 5". It takes a lot of the user experience away. In addition the Z1's screen is way smaller than the G2, if the bar cannot be invisible of some sort.
Do you think this will be fixed in the future updates?
You can remove nav bar like Greg just said and install app from app store...
MARKET LINK
This app will hide navigation bar when you don't need it or just want to make it smaller...

You can also use LMT as a replacement for the nav bar

Like someone just said using xposed installer with gravity box you can reduce the size of the navbar, but you will need root.
There is also an app called fullscreen in the play store that allows you to get rid of it and have icons in the corners of your screen instead.

Just installed 4.3 and root, but cant get rid of the sony nav bar using my usual method (fullscreen toggle app).
is this a 4.3 related issue? full screen toggle requested root permissions when i launched it, but when i select disable nav bar and reboot, the sony nav bar is still present? Anyone any ideas?
I much prefer button saviour for nav buttons, so i maximise screen real estate and swipe to access nav buttons
After enabling the nav bar I was wondering how to disable the hardware keys, hashing out in the generic.kl doesn't seem to have an effect.

In the nav bar itself, at the left there is a little dot, double tap it to make it solid looking, and the nav bar remains, double tapp to toggle it, when the dot is hollow, the nav bar auto hides
Thank you will try it.
