What is this
Hi,
It's used in settings-> cloud and accounts-> accounts-> Samsung account-> confidentiality and you'll see the use for the customization service.

I had to do a specific Google search with quotation marks to even find this answer. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks Samsung doesn't want people to really know about this.
My Sprint SM-N950U substituted "privacy" for "confidentiality", but I found it via your directions and turned it off. Made the mistake of straight-up disabling the service a week ago, when Galaxy Apps was pushing and update for it, but then Bixby Home instantly crashes.

Hey guys,So I just got my Galaxy Gear today and Ive read around and even Samsung's own manual says there is this Safety Assistance where you hit the power button 3 times and it will take a picture with GPS and send it to you emergency contact. The manual says to enable it under settings then safety assistance. But under my settings in gear manager there is no such setting. I contacted Samsung and they can't find where it even says in the manual. Did this feature get removed,or am I just missing something?
Im including the link to Samsung's site and its on PG.35 of the manual.

I was told that it was pulled last minute. When I insisted they looked at the manual and page number they said that their manual did not show that and there manual was newer so it meant the feature was pulled.

My Gear and my new Gear 2 both have the option. My wife's does not. I think the issue is the rom you are running. My wife's Note 3 is running the stock T-mobile rom and she does not have the opinion. I upgraded to an international rom (to get rid of the t-mobile crap on my phone, most specifically the block they put on the tethering) and a side effect is I now have the Safety Assistance option.
Just figured I would let you know, incase you were interested,

Is it possible to obtain the app for that? Like if you open wondershare on a pc, do you see it there? If so back it up, and upload it please.

The app wouldn't do any good unless you had the option in Gear Manager to turn it off and on, and to set an emergency contact for the app to message.
Perhaps there is a way to inject/mock the version of the rom to allow the option in Gear Manager so the option/ability is enabled.

I love it. Just swipe up, press the fingerprint sensor and press it to the kiosk. Easier and works in more locations than Android Pay.

Oh ok so you need that card open at kiosks for payment. I got it. That seems useful then. Thanks
Edit: Repost by accident. Mods can delete this comment.
Remove Samsung Pay shortcut
Go to Samsung Pay app
Press the Three-line icon
Choose setting
Choose quick access
Uncheck items
It's no good if your bank or MasterCard isn't partnered with Samsung Pay though. It's different for everyone.

Yes I 2nd that opinion... as hyped as Samsung Pay is, it's not widely compatible with a lot of UK banks so really what's the point if after many years from launch some of us are are still waiting.......
Samsung Pay is malware, like most Samsung bundled bloatware. Gallery was spammed with undismissable ads for onedrive in an effort to disable which I force stopped Samsung members and, for good measure, Samsung pay. Deleting data for Samsung Pay and clearing the cache caused it to reload, and it couldn't be dismissed. It overruled the Nova launcher apps drawer so that no apps could be opened.
It can't be got rid of by disabling (can't be disabled) or force stopping.
This meant that to make the phone basically functional again, Samsung pay had to be both signed into AND made default.
You have to open it and sign in, and then it gives you a 'choice' between making it the default payment app or shutting down. So no choice. Only once all that is done can you access its settings and turn off the quick access bar, notifications etc.
I hate their guts for wasting my time and energy like this, for trying to control me. I'd rather do almost anything now to make sure I allow them zero presence in my tech life.
Have not been able to find an easy way to root this s7 edge. With that done I'd soon deal with Samsung pay and its intrusive, evil ****ing bull****.

Go to settings (gear symbol) > apps > Samsung pay, Tap on Samsung pay. Scroll down to the advanced section where it says "draw over other apps" and select that. Tap the toggle switch off to disable the shortcut at the bottom of the home screen. (Android 10, One UI version 2.5)

I saw it in there somewhere but I think you have to add it to the panel. It's not in there native. I think there was an Edge menu somewhere in the settings menu if I'm not mistaken.

Settings > Display > Edge Screen > Edge Panels (select the words not the slider). This is how you can see what panels you have available.
To install additional panels open your Galaxy Store app and select 'My Galaxy'. There should be a bunch of Edge panels that you can either download for free or pay for. I couldn't see the panel you are after but there may be another you might like.
I know how to add a new panel guys. I was just saying that Yahoo Finance panels that were available on S8 are not available on S10 (at least on my SW version). Can you check if you have it?
Yeah where the deal? Just got a S10 and it's missing. Anyone have an idea how or where to get it from.
I still have my hands on my S8. Any idea how to extract it.
It may have been killed off because Verizon said it regretted it's purchase of Yahoo and AOL and admitted that the AOL/Yahoo division was a failure. If I remember correctly, I thought I really something about Verizon deciding to shutter Yahoo.
I did manage to pull the APK. But can't get it to install. Anyone have any ideas.

any more on this?
This was brought up in the Samsung communities last year and Samsung never responded.

Hi, I am trying to unlock customization services on the Bixby home screen, but it says "I am too young to use Bixby Home customization cards and services".
I checked first my Samsung account and my birth date were really wrong. Changed it to correct one.
Deleted all Bixby apps cache and data and the message is still there. Does anyone know a possible solution?
Thanks in advance.

I don't have a solution, but it's a good thing they think you're too young. They can't legally sell your personal information due to age restrictions. ???

Hi there,
I have Galaxy S21 ultra for the past 48 hours I've been getting the error "It looks like there was an error signing into your account" whenever I try to use Google Discover in the Google app or by using the far left home screen. Is this happening for anyone else?
I've tried all the normal troubleshooting methods, but unfortunately all not work.
Waiting for any brilliant thoughts?

I know this sounds like a "did you plug it in" type answer but....go to settings and make sure discover is turned on.

I did this one but does not work!
Same error on main account, works if I switch to another Google account that is on device.
As a temporary solution, I found this trick can solve this issue
The temporary fix seems to be turning off Web & App search history for your account.
1) From the Discover screen, press your account icon in the upper right corner.
2) Select "Search History" from the menu.
3) Turn off "Web & App Activity". Scroll down and select the "Pause" button to confirm.
4) Return to the Discover screen and refresh. You should see your news items again.
You need to download google news from Playstore.

Why? It is not google feed that you can access from the home screen. It is already on my phone.

Hi there Nobrain3000, you are absolutely correct!!!!!!!
I downloaded Google News on my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, this morning without seeing your post.
Decided to read articles through Google News. (not News & Weather)
Received an email update that lead me to MoMo131's post.
As I opened Google to disable search history, voila, Discover page filled with posts.
Checked and my search history is on.
Did the same on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Discover page filled with posts!!!
The answer is definitely, install "Google News" (not News & Weather) through the Play Store.
Thank you Nobrain3000, such an easy resolution.

I already had google news installed and it did not fix the problem. If I change the account to my secondary account it fills the discover feed but I have never used that account it would have relearn what content I want to see.

Hi Smartymcfly,
Your situation is different because the secondary account receives the discover feed. You could go back an forth to check what is different within each of the Google account's settings (I likely would do this and waste the better part of a day). Then I would delete the secondary account on the phone. Uninstall then reinstall Google News (Not News & Weather), ensure discover is on (yes obvious however worth a check), restart the phone, then read a few articles in Google News before opening Google. Then open Google and see if it works.
Please let me know how you make out, I am curious to see what is blocking your Discover feed. That darn feed is addictive. Something I like to do each morning and really upset my day when I could not use it.
Take care,
Toni
