Does Anyone know if the SnapDragon Note 8's support QC 4+? If it does does anyone know if there are USB C cables that support it or suggest some cables? If it does not anyone recommend non-OEM cables that will charge the Note 8 fast (looking for 6ft-10ft).
No. Qc2.0 only.

I have read that QC 3.0 will be supported since the Qualcomm 820 supports it. But, the S7/edge has the same processor and only supported QC 2.0. Any ideas?
Don't think so...

It's confusing. The Note7 has a different Adaptive Fast Charger than earlier Samsung phones. The Note7's charger is 12V, 2.1A while the Note5 and S7-series chargers output 9V, 1.67A . QC 2.0 supports a maximum of 2A and works with 5, 9, and 12 volt chargers. Qualcomm's website lists the Note7 as a Quick Charge 2.0 device. So why did Samsung upgrade the charger output? With QC 2.0 maxing out at 2A they could have introduced 12V with the S7-series as there's no USB-C requirement or benefit on 2.0. Maybe Samsung moved from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 on the Note7 which may have an impact.
So like I said it's confusing. But with a higher output charging adapter and the Note7's assumed ability to accept that higher output you'd have to assume it'll charge faster than the S7-series. Even on QC 2.0 if Qualcomm's website is right. I guess we'll find out more when a more tech focused site like Anandtech and GSMArena do their full testing.
I plan to test it out using my inline USB multimeter that records data and sends it to my PC. Once my Note 7 gets here I'll run some tests assuming I'm not too busy at work
I doubt it. Samsung likes to use their own.

It doesn't matter what Samsung calls it they're still using Qualcomm quick charge

It does if you plug in a "qualcomm" charger and the phone doesn't identify it and use the fast charge or vice versa.

It doesn't because Samsung's adaptive fast charging is just QC 2.0 like it was on the S7/S7 Edge. I thoroughly tested mine with a variety of QC 2.0/3.0 chargers a while back.
Heyy guys. Can anyone suggest some good USB type C cables (3rd Party) which supports Fast Charging for our Note 8?
Do include those which comply with USB Type-C standards/ are compliant cables and are USB IF Certified.
Also please tell me how much maximum current does our Note 8 supports with Adaptive Fast Charge (QC 2.0).

Since we have QC 4.0, how do we make sure that the USB Type-C cables we buy will maximize the fast charging feature?
I'm looking to pair it with a right wall charger inspired by this other thread (i.e. a wall charger that truly supports QC 4.0 since the one in the box supposedly is just QC 3.0 certified).
I'm finding it difficult to find QC-certified cables, let alone ones that say they specifically support QC 4.0.
Any tips on what specs to look out for?
Look out for type c cables that support power delivery, those an handle the high wattage for qc 4.0. If you want fast charging speeds, looking out for chargers capable of outputting 30 watts. i.e 3amps x9v= 27w
Nah I think you should wait for xiaomi to release a QC 4 charger & cable. Because USBPD is still a mess.
Some interesting charts you can see in here https://www.androidauthority.com/state-of-usb-type-c-870996/
As you can see same phone charged different speed when they use different chargers & different cables. (or same charger with different cables)
Mi 8 won't be different, so want for xiaomi to release a QC 4 charger & a cable to take advantage of the QC 4 / 4+ technology.
I went ahead and got a Tronsmart W3PTA. Really pleased so far!
It supports QC 3.0 (nothing faster than the stock charger I know)... But the main value for me is having a total of 3 USB ports and the right socket without needing an adapter ?
Not sure how much I'd gain out of QC 4.0... but considering price, availability, and potential heat issues; I reckon this is the right choice for now.

AndroidAuthority articles are bull****. Don't trust those bias reviewers.
Is he saying that V40 is able to be charged to 50% for only 15 minutes? What USB charger brick is capable of such fast QC 4 then?
The phone supports quick charge 4.0 with a different wall charger. Currently the phone includes a 3.0 charger which I read is 25 minutes instead of 15.
Suggest QC 4.0 charger
Which one tested and works with V40?
G7 also supports qc4 but the charge rate is limited, no difference compared to qc3

That's just the theoretical specs
LG throttled to maximum speed, even Razer phone can't charge that fast in real life with QC4
The facts about Quick Charge 4 & the LG V40
I know this is late but it took me months to find a Qualcomm certified QC 4 charger. I have also read the Qualcomm information. This is the way it is:
I have a Verizon LG V40 ThinQ with Android 8.1. I also purchased a Belkin QC 4 charger that is certified by Qualcomm. The LG V40's Snapdragon 845 chip is certified QC 4 usable. Unfortunately, LG neglected to enable that feature when they released the phone. The phone came with a QC 3 charger and that is what it charges at. It takes approximately 1½ hours to charge the phone from 15% to 100% if you use the included charger or a certified QC 4 charger. I know I tried it. When you charge the LG V40, it tells you how long it will take to fully charge it. It says the same time with each charger. I didn't trust the software since I had already purchased a QC 4 charger and had nothing to loose. ( a Qualcomm certified QC 4 charger is backwards compatible with all QC phones. It will charge at the rate the phone allows and not overcharge) The QC 4 charger took the same time as the QC 3 charger. (Within a few minutes) Unfortunately, I doubt that LG will enable the faster charging in the future. I have written to support a number of times and they have no clue to what QC 4 charging is about. The only hope is that the powers that be at LG are keeping them in the dark.

well maybe some of our European brothers can let us know if they can switch it on since they can unlock the bootloader and root....and with SGMarkus help use TWRP as well...
